I was just writing about the Hitfilm situation in the next video and wow someone I know made a video about it! And then I get jumpscared with my own face
Its sad because for yeaaars I used hitfilm and loved it but when they did that terrible overhaul I just bit the bullet and finally got premiere pro. Hitfilm will always have a special place in my heart.
Honestly, I hope HitFilm won't shut down considering this one deserves to be preserved, alongside old versions before Artlist took over and ran it into the ground. The announcement for FXhome shutting down is that this might probably won't affect people who still have HitFilm and Imerge, meaning they will continue using them. Both apps should be archived.
Artlist once responded to my Tweet, complaining about the software being a let down since they acquired it, saying "we have big things planned".... Womp Womp
i fkin loved marble blast Playing that game was a fever dream, I actually got it at a michaels crafts store, it was randomly sitting in a random bin of crafts. I think someone honestly stole it and dropped it off there. but Michaels still charged me like $3 for the disc at the register. But man, I loved the game an unreasonable amount.
Hey bro I just watched ur vid about Ludwigs secret channel and wanted to say thanks it gave me a lot more confidence in continuing my gaming channel I’m probably on my 5th channel now and just posted my first long form video all be it only has like 3 views but u really gave me a new outlook and I wanted to just say thank you and I think You will definitely reach 1 million subs w how well ur content is made and yes im typing this at 3 am
This might sound stupid but i think piracy can be helpful in this specific kind of situations. You already paid for it anyways and if it can help transition a bit more smoothly especially. Also it's weird that they would remove acces to the app even tho it's already installed
I cannot tell you how much i despise resolves keyframing tools and the lack of ui customization compared to hitfilm. Motion graphics was one of my favourite things to do with hitfilm and with resolve i find myself trying to avoid it as much as possible because the workflow for it is simply that terrible.
@aquamxrine Yes, totally agreed that fusions keyframe tools are miles ahead of the editor ones. But having to resort to a fusion comp is already a huge inconvenience. Hitfilm used to have it like this too, that you could only do proper keyframing in the composit shots. They eventually updated it to bring the same full keyframe functionality to the editor which made it a dream for all keyframe animation work, simple or complex. With fusion i hate that everything is split into 3 separate timelines within the fusion page. You have the main timeline under the video clip to scrub through, then you have the keyframe tab to retime clips and easily move keyframes around, and the spline editor to make more precise keyframe adjustments. So if you wanna have full functionality you're required to work in 3 different timelines at the same time. And while they all share some functionality, neither can do everything on their own. Hitfilm had all the functionalities in one single timeline. You had the option to use a second one jf you wanted to, for a slightly better overview, but technically not required at all. Imo Hitfilm had the best keyframing tools of any NLE i have ever used. And even tho fusion is also powerful, the lack of proper editing timeline keyframe tools and a convoluted unnecessarily bloated ui in the fusion tab means that for me the workflow will always be inferior to hitfilms. Unless they decide to make a huge overhaul, but looking at the development history of resolve and people complaining about basic functionality issues for years without them ever getting added or fixed i'd personally say that it's very unlikely this will happen anytime soon.
I have used Hitfilm for my first ever Videos i have made. Was recently thinking of going back to make some Videos for YT again. Now that i hear the news i am so sad! It was such a great tool to use!
98% of them are afaik, but some of them work much differently from what I'm used to, thus limiting what I can really do with them. Hue/rgb key, for instance, is much more complicated in Resolve, and isn't as flexible. Also, no bilateral blur that I can see.
I'm unfamilar with your channel and content, but I wanted to share that I am in the exact same position as you. Hitfilms workflow was smooth as butter when the software worked, and I could do (and did) everything I wanted from it. I tried swapping to davinci resolve after the artlist tragedy but I just cannot wrap my head around node editing. I'm very interested in seeing how davinci pans out for you, if the workflow and quality rivals hitfilm then be sure to let me know. (P.S., I have started dabbling with using blenders video editor and it has a lot of familiar features to hitfilms composite shots, so if you struggle with resolve then be sure to give it a shot.)
I for one am never going to stop using it. I'm happy with version 2019. And I'm gonna stick with it. It sucks that the software is done. But hey what you gonna do I guess.
I've been using this since 2018. its a damn good piece of software for a good price and i still have my copy of express 2017 sitting around that got me to stop using windows movie maker and take video production a little more seriously. like you said, i wish theyd release whats left of the software as open source without the licensed software. but at this point, everyone involved in the project has clearly stopped caring about delivering anything but the bare minimum and i suppose im not surprised this eventually happened.
That's unfortunate. Although I never touched any Artlist-era hitfilm software. I still use my Hitfilm Express to this day because my PC can't handle DaVinci. Can I still use my Express after the site closes down?
I use Hitfilm Express 13 and was too lazy to update. Now I can say that I’m glad I didn’t update. For clarification, I should still be able to use it after the 15th, right?
HitFilm is a family of video production programs developed by FXhome that combine video editing, compositing, visual effects, and 3D rendering & animation. If you wish to know about Google search and wiki did exist?
Rest in Peace. You never did work that smoothly.

oh nice it's gdnacho

Lol I hope you don't mind. Hope you're adapting well to Davinci Resolve!
I used to use hitfilm back in 2021. It's pretty sad that it's dead
*_"It's pretty sad that it's dead"_*
...yet you stopped using it 4 years ago. Maybe that's why it's dead? 🤣
You can always sail the seas and download and old version of that software, if you know what I mean 🏴☠
Eh, id rather blow my brains out trying to use davinci resolve (cause I cant edit.)
Why would anyone, it's a bad product, buggy and slow.
Thats so sad, hitflim was the first editing software hitflim i tested out when I was a little kid, seems the app has died along with all my memories
I also loved Hitfilm but I left the second I heard it went to subscription. it lost what was so great about it.
Capcut is on its way to be dead as well at this point.
Its sad because for yeaaars I used hitfilm and loved it but when they did that terrible overhaul I just bit the bullet and finally got premiere pro. Hitfilm will always have a special place in my heart.
Still rocking hitfilm nowadays..the original version that was just a flat package. The subscription model single handedly killed them .
Me who still uses the 2019 version of HitFilm Express:
*Lucky me.*
gives you engagement and leaves

I was going to switch to hitfilm as capcut is getting banned here in the US along with tiktok. But, I guess that ain't happening

keyframing in fusion is the way to go. the spline editor is super intuitive and i far prefer it over the spline editor in premiere and ae

Very sad tho :((((
Are the effects HitFilm Pro included also included in Davinci Resolve?

hi
im sad that the editor that i really loved in my early days lf editing, Hitflim Express, is just shitware now because of corporate greed
RIP Hitfilm
Oh my sigma this is oh wait hmmmm 1 hour 18 minute tk 202555 jshdjw NOT 2025 AHHHH
perhaps not 'all due to artlist'. there probably was good reason why the original owners sold It!

Been a while!
5:33 I haven't watch those videos and I'm too lazy to find out how bad they aged, wish someone would just drop the lore in the comments
I've been writing to people trying to see if we can get them to Open Source the software. I doubt it will happen. But. no harm in trying.
That's unfortunate. Although I never touched any Artlist-era hitfilm software. I still use my Hitfilm Express to this day because my PC can't handle DaVinci. Can I still use my Express after the site closes down?
I'm not to sure. I haven't used Hitfilm for that long myself
@@jhxc64Guess, gotta get ready to relearn Davinci again 😭
Greed has destroyed HitFilm

📡
Was hands down the best free and one time purchase video editing software before 2020 Sad it got overshadowed by resolve and destroyed by artlist.
that's not very sigma
I never understood how hitfilm got worse over the years. W video
I just started using it a few months ago what
The masculine urge to use software until it’s no longer supported
🏴☠️
I remembered using hitfilm express in 2018-19. I moved to Kdenlive and Final Cut. Shame that this company is going down this route.
