Ok Ross...You've gotta pack this in my man! Your content is improving with each vid you release! I'll try and be brief but the start of this vid, namely "the rant" basically encapsulated FPL perfectly. The one word that should be in ALL players minds whether engaged, casual or anyhow is "FUN"...In the last 3 GWs 26, 27 and 28 I have taken in total -16 in hits and I have FHed GW29 and I have had and am having the most fun so far this season by a mile! Template or differential. Good decision or bad, doesn't even matter when the "fun" being had is this envigorating! This reaction from Mr Raptor is loooooong overdue in my opinion and should be played as a matter of course before every creator's content now. Brilliant, intelligent awareness Ross. Not only for your viewers who may take FPL a bit too seriously, but for the FPL entity as a whole. Perfect content. Delivered perfectly. Well done my man!

Wildcarding this week gave me a 30point + swing! Fully set up for blank GW 29 (got 11 players, well regulion is one of them) and will get Salah/ Haaland back in 30/31 :D

I was having this conversation with a friend yesterday. I've not enjoyed this season. I've had little to no luck, and it's not been great,, currently at around 700k rank. To try and have fun, we are likely to move away from mini leagues, and just enjoy the game. The issue people have with content creators is mental! If you follow the crowd, you're "boring and template", if you do things differently, you get abused for "not knowing what you're doing". Play your own game, Ross. Your content and ideas are a refreshing change buddy. Been following you since pretty much day 1 (FF Fix days) and love the content ❤
I think going with Porro + Udogie and only Son from spurs attack is the play. The alternative midfielders like Douglas Luiz, Bailey, MGW, Paqueta etc feel better than the alternative defenders.
Hi Ross, ignore the haters. Some people take this game way too seriously, It's not compulsory to copy a content creator, it's advice and up to us if we take that advice or ignore it, people need to think for themselves and not blindly follow everything you say and then blame you if it goes wrong. Your FPL streams are the only ones I watch now, they're not only informative but also fun on the deadline stream. I like the banter and the way you take it and the fact you stay on after the deadline and chat about anything shows that you appreciate your viewers. Keep on doing what you do, take care, be lucky.

Great job Ross. I’ve watched your content most of the season and always find some value in it, even if it is from just your mindset/approach. Regardless of transfers made etc. I myself have gotten a bit lost and carried away playing the game at times, it can be super frustrating! But the bottom line is it is for fun, and there’s different players/teams and formations for a reason. Adds variety (least it’s meant to!) anyway, well done on your season and work so far. Been top drawer 👍🏼
100% agree. Points projections decreeing who the 'best' players are incorrect in my view. The only way to work out who the 'right' guys to go for is once the games have been played.
Great speech Raptor. This is my first time playing FPL ( used to use another app) and I love it. It definitely feels as though fpl Twitter can be toxic for and against a certain strategy/transfer e.g. FH29. I’m going to free hit but I feel like there are certain creators that almost try to make you feel stupid for making that decision because they’re saving it for a different week. Be open to advice but make your decision based on what you think (and vibes). Fair play for the big boy hit
Keep it up. You're one of 2 I'm watching these days. We need variety and different opinions, otherwise we stagnate. I'd like more "eye test" info so I'm watching all the highlights I can find. The problem is most are too lazy to seek that info, so they're looking to you to continually rehash the template so they feel like they're not missing out
What"s the difference between predicting the future or just rolling the dice? I rolled the dice this week and presently sitting on 53 with no hits. I got lucky! Play the game for fun and everything will work out. Keep up the great work.

Well said. Seems more of a trend this season from some of the FPL social media 'set' to swipe at each other. A bit like gambling - when the fun stops, then stop. It was never meant to ruin someone's weekend or 'reputation'.

The rush of taking an FPL risk based purely on gut instinct and it paying off is what the game is all about for me. I follow a few people on here like yourself to help navigate blanks and doubles, but then base most of my choices on feel and what other teams in my mini leagues do. Currently ranked 68,900, highest to date and loving it. The idea that someone would troll or abuse people based on a fantasy football games is beyond stupid. What the hell is wrong with the world.

I loved the tweet, Ross and back it completely. I’m having fun with it (wildcarded GW21, captained Semenyo) and some people are always gonna hate. I play for my mini leagues and in-season competitions we create and have banter about. Keep up the great work and having fun 👏 Oh and I’m on FH this week and likely won’t have Bowen (as a Villa fan) or Morris. Thinking Wissa and either Elanga or Bailey depending on midweek fixtures.
Not owning foden the past few weeks has absolutely demolished me, I have the rest of the template players, I just though I would go for kdb as a slight differential, and I have not yet owned a premium defender this season, you're porros, trents and trippier because I wanted to invest it mostly on my attack, my rank is just under the top 200k, but I feel like especially the foden non ownership and buying watkins only after game week 15, coupled with not owning some premium defenders have absolutely been my downfall

Morning Ross, love the content and still love the game. The dissapointments only make the good weeks sweeter for me, we play mini league but scoring is head to head so it changes the way we play when using chips as we tend to target top of the league player so don't think about long term strategy which does make it great fun without having to worry about overall scores. It's a game and we all play it as such..the only reason we play it is for the bants at weekend which are brilliant and brutal lol.

Not sure which fools could have been sending you abuse when you see the players that -12 got you for gw28, and the team you’ll have going into gw29. I doff my cap to you, because (you’re right) your team will be little different to my FH and you’ve still got those Big Chips remaining. Well played sir. And your comment (rant😊) about doing what feels fun is so true. Theres so much paralysis because of groupthink. I took a -8 this week and played bench boost (forgoing gw37) because it felt right. It will undoubtably come back to bite me and definitely not ‘optimal’, but I enjoyed FPL more this weekend than for a long time because I went with my gut - even though BOU and Ramsdale did their best to seriously dampen my spirits! Nobody has the answers. It’s ultimately a game of moments and chance. You can play the odds and give yourself a better fighting chance, but you can’t tell someone they’ve got it ‘wrong’ before those moments and outcomes have happened.
Completely agree that FPL is something to enjoy. I feel the same about work. If you don't find some pleasure in your job, find a better job you can enjoy more. I was lucky, with a long & fulfilling career as a university lecturer in Japan. There were some days when I was enjoying a class so much that I thought "I can't believe I'm being paid to do this". I would advise everyone to enjoy your life ... or try hard to change it 😊

I completely agree with you Ross. I was going to FH in week 29 then changed my mind. I made no transfers for week 28 and benched Haarland. My week went well. Continue to be creative..... I LOVE IT!
Just wanted to ask if there is any upside on WC32 instead of 31, since most of the players I'm planning to carry on have pretty good fixtures in that gameweek as well bar Morris and City vs Villa isn't a game I'm desperate to have Haaland/Foden in. Could punt for Gakpo/Diaz for 1 week against Sheffield as well
If it helps, I am on transfer no 42. I like to play the game by taking risks. There are ups and downs.. Shame it has not worked out last couple of GWs with all in on double GW players.
I completely agree, in one of my mini-leagues, my friend is just behind me by like 20 points and he's owned players that I would never have thought of owning but he's done extremely well, I've gone for a more template route but he's owned serious differentials this whole season and he's done so well, he's found value where I haven't even considered looking, I think it's fascinating and well done to him. I almost envy how he's strategised.
There are just not enough variables in the game. Small changes such as maxium of 2 players from each team and no consecutive weeks for captain picks, both alone would make a significant difference.
I think if we are in a good position of owning 8-9 essential players (Son/Maddison/Bowen, Porro/Reguilon/Doughty, Watkins/Toney, etc) we can go for differentials like Gibbs White, Bailey, Awoniyi in your targeted player list? How about Iwobi as a differentials tho 🤔
Good stuff, Ross. All sounds/looks good to me! Only question is what’s the rationale for selling Foden over Saka (if there’s not much difference in team value lost)? I think I prefer Foden at home in that fixture 🤔
I took a -8 taking out Haaland and KDB and then Triple Captained Solanke…and this weekend made me smile! I’m 100 points behind in my money league, and was the only one out of 40 on our league to take that punt…probably won’t work, but I like the fact I took a shot at changing it up 👍 HE WHO DARES RODNEY!!!
Similarly to you I had rolled my transfer last GW and so had two FTs this GW. I took a minus 8 for:- Estupinan 6 to Doughty 2+ Haaland 2 to Morris 2+ Foden 2 to Bowen 2 KDB 6 to Son 17 Total 🟰 16 🟰 23+ After the remaining games I should be up on points, plus I will now have 11 players for GW29

100% agree. I also took -12 but getting 3 fixtues over 1. Thought it was the logical way of naviagting the blank week, i'm sat now 3 points up from my previous team with 5 players left to play (would have had 2 to play). I still have WC and FH. Went from 18k to 27k as it stans but should get back to around 20k with a couple of returns so overall will have taken 2k (ish) rank drop for saving my WC/FH. I think it's going to be way more valuable latr in the season.
I took a minus 8 this week and was surprised I had the exact same lineup as you. I felt rather template but it should place me closer to first in my local league and set me up nicely for next week. I'm only going to go in with 8 players next week. No hits. No hit. I feel like I've got the best players so I'm willing to risk it.

Agree with your mini rant Ross. Last season I had the most diabolical early wildcard one could imagine, and it cost me a net ~100 points. It dropped me to rank 6mil or so, and so from then on there was no pressure and I enjoyed the climb back up (to about 250k rank). The feeling that the only way is up was nice. This season I've had a solid start and so it's back to careful and sensible planning, but I'm still playing my own way (WC28 for example, seemed wild on paper but I went over it and it made sense). I'm also helping to manage a team for my unborn son, and that's back to the "if it feels good, do it" plan. No Haaland until week 24, BB20, WC24 etc. Every transfer can't have more than a minute's thought. And lo and behold, his rank is still respectable. Play your own game, because it is a game. You're not winning millions, or gaining fame or accolades from winning a mini league. It is a game after all, and it should be fun.

Re. If any major injuries. There isn't a huge choice of players to pick from so therefore it's probably best to roll with who ever you got already. Plus hit don't usually pay off over 1GW.
A FH for GW 29 is a better strategy on paper. Thankfully the game is played on grass!!! I too am following your theme and saving the FH for GW 34 (likely). Sadly some of the players I've been transferring in for GW 29 keep getting injured (today was Van de Ven for Spurs). Love your videos and look forward to the next one. All the way from Australia

Your right bro, I did my wildcard last week, I knew it wasn't the most popular time but I felt I had tunnel vision, gone from 12k to 20k but I've had fun with my team and feel like going forward I'll be okay because worst comes to worst, I'll just have more fun and make a tun of transfers 🤣

Sometimes you make the right decision and it doesnt work out thats life. Maybe FPL should try and add more weight to weekly highest scores or something to take focus all of total season
Thank you Ross. Good team and plan. I was 'torn' and 'bottled?' GW28 and went with x2 Bournemouth instead of Luton/ Maddison. I have Richarlison and Taylor plus x4 others. Injury to Richarlison means FH29 but not sure of the upside? How many points do you think will prevail between FH29 and FH34? I assume BB is GW37?
How about Saka out for a midfielder in GW29? Saka about to drop in price, and he plays City in GW30. Then you'll get him back in GW31 with WC. Guess it depends on how much value you have tied up in him. When he drops, I have no tied up value, so seems like an option to field 4 midfielders for GW29 and having a better midfielder fixture in GW30. And I already swapped in Son for Foden last week. I.e., I'll likely do Saka to Maddison, and will be fielding 11 players (Solanke, Palmer, Gabriel on the bench) without a hit. Or I may pick a third forward to play instead... Current 10-man team for GW29 without transfer yet: GK: Leno Def: Doughty, Pau, Porro, Reguilon Mid: Bowen, Luiz, Son Att: Watkins, Toney Then gotta transfer one of these for a full 11 team: Saka, Palmer (have a lot of value tied up in him), Solanke, Gabriel.

The rush of taking an FPL risk based purely on gut instinct and it paying off is what the game is all about for me.
I follow a few people on here like yourself to help navigate blanks and doubles, but then base most of my choices on feel and what other teams in my mini leagues do.
Currently ranked 68,900, highest to date and loving it.
The idea that someone would troll or abuse people based on a fantasy football games is beyond stupid. What the hell is wrong with the world.

I loved the tweet, Ross and back it completely. I’m having fun with it (wildcarded GW21, captained Semenyo) and some people are always gonna hate. I play for my mini leagues and in-season competitions we create and have banter about. Keep up the great work and having fun 👏 Oh and I’m on FH this week and likely won’t have Bowen (as a Villa fan) or Morris. Thinking Wissa and either Elanga or Bailey depending on midweek fixtures.

Not owning foden the past few weeks has absolutely demolished me, I have the rest of the template players, I just though I would go for kdb as a slight differential, and I have not yet owned a premium defender this season, you're porros, trents and trippier because I wanted to invest it mostly on my attack, my rank is just under the top 200k, but I feel like especially the foden non ownership and buying watkins only after game week 15, coupled with not owning some premium defenders have absolutely been my downfall
I followed a similar strategy. I think your -12 was very brave. I took -8, and it worked wonders. Congrats.

Morning Ross, love the content and still love the game. The dissapointments only make the good weeks sweeter for me, we play mini league but scoring is head to head so it changes the way we play when using chips as we tend to target top of the league player so don't think about long term strategy which does make it great fun without having to worry about overall scores. It's a game and we all play it as such..the only reason we play it is for the bants at weekend which are brilliant and brutal lol.

I doff my cap to you, because (you’re right) your team will be little different to my FH and you’ve still got those Big Chips remaining. Well played sir.
And your comment (rant😊) about doing what feels fun is so true. Theres so much paralysis because of groupthink. I took a -8 this week and played bench boost (forgoing gw37) because it felt right. It will undoubtably come back to bite me and definitely not ‘optimal’, but I enjoyed FPL more this weekend than for a long time because I went with my gut - even though BOU and Ramsdale did their best to seriously dampen my spirits!
Nobody has the answers. It’s ultimately a game of moments and chance. You can play the odds and give yourself a better fighting chance, but you can’t tell someone they’ve got it ‘wrong’ before those moments and outcomes have happened.
Completely agree that FPL is something to enjoy. I feel the same about work. If you don't find some pleasure in your job, find a better job you can enjoy more. I was lucky, with a long & fulfilling career as a university lecturer in Japan. There were some days when I was enjoying a class so much that I thought "I can't believe I'm being paid to do this".
I would advise everyone to enjoy your life ... or try hard to change it 😊
Great speech basically go with gut not copy . I am struggling with rank this season competed last but still enjoying watching you Harry and mate and decide myself who I want. Sone people just copy one of you where is the fun in that. Continue fab work as we all human and can make our own decisions

Ross, I have almost the same team as you, except D Luiz instead of Taylor. So I'm making the same 2 transfers for -4. Current rank 23k, just 16 points behind Pickle.
I completely agree with you Ross. I was going to FH in week 29 then changed my mind. I made no transfers for week 28 and benched Haarland. My week went well.

Just wanted to ask if there is any upside on WC32 instead of 31, since most of the players I'm planning to carry on have pretty good fixtures in that gameweek as well bar Morris and City vs Villa isn't a game I'm desperate to have Haaland/Foden in. Could punt for Gakpo/Diaz for 1 week against Sheffield as well

If it helps, I am on transfer no 42. I like to play the game by taking risks. There are ups and downs.. Shame it has not worked out last couple of GWs with all in on double GW players.

I completely agree, in one of my mini-leagues, my friend is just behind me by like 20 points and he's owned players that I would never have thought of owning but he's done extremely well, I've gone for a more template route but he's owned serious differentials this whole season and he's done so well, he's found value where I haven't even considered looking, I think it's fascinating and well done to him. I almost envy how he's strategised.
Me too -8 hit and come with same squad but chosen Kaminski instead of neto. Waiting to play Kaminski doughty Morris and currently green arrow.
There are just not enough variables in the game. Small changes such as maxium of 2 players from each team and no consecutive weeks for captain picks, both alone would make a significant difference.
I agree with the way you have played, i done the same thing, taking hits isnt always that bad
You're 100% right about this attitude to FPL. I also enjoy playing like that.
I think if we are in a good position of owning 8-9 essential players (Son/Maddison/Bowen, Porro/Reguilon/Doughty, Watkins/Toney, etc) we can go for differentials like Gibbs White, Bailey, Awoniyi in your targeted player list? How about Iwobi as a differentials tho 🤔

I took a -8 taking out Haaland and KDB and then Triple Captained Solanke…and this weekend made me smile! I’m 100 points behind in my money league, and was the only one out of 40 on our league to take that punt…probably won’t work, but I like the fact I took a shot at changing it up 👍 HE WHO DARES RODNEY!!!
Similarly to you I had rolled my transfer last GW and so had two FTs this GW. I took a minus 8 for:-
Estupinan 6 to Doughty 2+
Haaland 2 to Morris 2+
Foden 2 to Bowen 2
KDB 6 to Son 17
Total 🟰 16 🟰 23+
After the remaining games I should be up on points, plus I will now have 11 players for GW29

100% agree. I also took -12 but getting 3 fixtues over 1. Thought it was the logical way of naviagting the blank week, i'm sat now 3 points up from my previous team with 5 players left to play (would have had 2 to play). I still have WC and FH. Went from 18k to 27k as it stans but should get back to around 20k with a couple of returns so overall will have taken 2k (ish) rank drop for saving my WC/FH. I think it's going to be way more valuable latr in the season.
I took a minus 8 this week and was surprised I had the exact same lineup as you. I felt rather template but it should place me closer to first in my local league and set me up nicely for next week.
I'm only going to go in with 8 players next week. No hits. No hit. I feel like I've got the best players so I'm willing to risk it.

Completely agree with the rant Ross. I've been pretty template this season, except for buying Rodri several gameweeks back. Big differential, and proved to be no mistake. Hope you don't cover too many bases in the future. So I can still steer away from your advice, hehe

Last season I had the most diabolical early wildcard one could imagine, and it cost me a net ~100 points. It dropped me to rank 6mil or so, and so from then on there was no pressure and I enjoyed the climb back up (to about 250k rank). The feeling that the only way is up was nice.
This season I've had a solid start and so it's back to careful and sensible planning, but I'm still playing my own way (WC28 for example, seemed wild on paper but I went over it and it made sense). I'm also helping to manage a team for my unborn son, and that's back to the "if it feels good, do it" plan. No Haaland until week 24, BB20, WC24 etc. Every transfer can't have more than a minute's thought. And lo and behold, his rank is still respectable.
Play your own game, because it is a game. You're not winning millions, or gaining fame or accolades from winning a mini league. It is a game after all, and it should be fun.

Re. If any major injuries. There isn't a huge choice of players to pick from so therefore it's probably best to roll with who ever you got already. Plus hit don't usually pay off over 1GW.

A FH for GW 29 is a better strategy on paper. Thankfully the game is played on grass!!! I too am following your theme and saving the FH for GW 34 (likely). Sometimes you make the right decision and it doesnt work out thats life. Maybe FPL should try and add more weight to weekly highest scores or something to take focus all of total season
Thank you Ross. Good team and plan. I was 'torn' and 'bottled?' GW28 and went with x2 Bournemouth instead of Luton/ Maddison. I have Richarlison and Taylor plus x4 others. Injury to Richarlison means FH29 but not sure of the upside? How many points do you think will prevail between FH29 and FH34? I assume BB is GW37?

How about Saka out for a midfielder in GW29? Saka about to drop in price, and he plays City in GW30. Then you'll get him back in GW31 with WC. Guess it depends on how much value you have tied up in him. When he drops, I have no tied up value, so seems like an option to field 4 midfielders for GW29 and having a better midfielder fixture in GW30. And I already swapped in Son for Foden last week.
I.e., I'll likely do Saka to Maddison, and will be fielding 11 players (Solanke, Palmer, Gabriel on the bench) without a hit. Or I may pick a third forward to play instead...
Current 10-man team for GW29 without transfer yet:
GK: Leno
Def: Doughty, Pau, Porro, Reguilon
Mid: Bowen, Luiz, Son
Att: Watkins, Toney
Then gotta transfer one of these for a full 11 team: Saka, Palmer (have a lot of value tied up in him), Solanke, Gabriel.
