Great video ....brings tears. "The most sincere form of flattery is imitation". A true test of greatness in an artist is the ability to inspire - and that Lanza did! And, thank God, continues, even now, through film to reach new generations of admirers. To wit: another "rising star tenor", Joseph Calleja, asked about his inspiration said "As a kid I had the opportunity to watch “The Great Caruso” on television and Mario Lanza impressed me so such much that I aimed to be exactly like him".

Saw this concert in Sheffield in December 1993 and although Jose sang very well, he was REALLY lacking in charisma. He didn't even address the audience until the encores but he did sing 6 (if memory serves). Of course pronunciation is an issue, Jose is Spanish, Mario was American. This IS Mario's song, no doubt about it, and always will be, same with "Be My Love." Big grats to Jose for doing this though
