Very impressive, outstanding job, others pale in comparison. Driving around with the top cut out, haha that's fantastic, I love it. Cheers from the East Coast
I love it Sir. I totally dig that. I admit im good with alot of things. But sadly welding doesn't come naturally to me. But i sincerely wish i could employ You to do this for my rig. Thats cool
Good question! The existing roof weighed about 200 pounds. This roof weighs around 425 pounds. I believe the little bit of extra weight still makes it safe, and the tapered sides may help shift the weight to the center of the van.
I haven't noticed much change in the handling except when driving through desert high winds! I have been weaving through Los Angeles traffic for the last 2 years with no problems at all. I'd say the biggest issue is not being able to drive into parking garages. Lol
You can totally build a van top out of wood. I would construct it similar to old-school wooden planes. Thin ribs and lots of glue to keep the weight down.
i really hope you love what your doing.....because my friend you are an ARTIST!!! and your still young GREAT JOB!!
Yes, I love to create ✨️✨️✨️
Thanks so much!

You saved a massive amount of money on that compared to buying a fiberglass high top roof. I think it's great!
I have that same model van and most tops look like a pimple. You some how made it look like it belonged and you smoked the build. Fantastic job
Thanks so much!

What degree did you cut the support ribs? Beautiful fab work btw.
Do you think someone could build a hightop with wood❔

What do you think, it is possible to use spare van and cut off 3feet from him to make extension
Cost of materials + time taken? Ready made fibre glass one like this costs about €3000 where I live.
What is Best or your Favorite smart-ass comment you've had abt Van so far?
Do you know how much weight this added to the van?
225 pounds
How much would you charge to do this again?
Hi,
I would charge $3000 for labor + materials. At the time, materials cost around $500. Somewhere between $3500 - $4000 total
@@palemoonart what state and city are you located in?
