    Suggestion: Grow frilly lettuce instead of head lettuce. It's harvested like spinach. therefore, lasts longer. I planted 10 seedlings of green and 10 red in april, and now its end of August, and im still harvesting from them.

      This is such a good idea and you are so right. We want something we can eat for a more extended period. Thank you so much. 😃

      Thanks so 'mulch' 😂. What we want to do on the homestead is make it manageable. So less time de-weeding etc. Its an upfront investment but its so worth it.

      Thanks Helena. We have warm weather in our region. We get sun most of the year, mild to hot subtropical weather and have lots of rainfall during summer.

    Your garden look good 🌻.
    Why do you put CD’s on your raised beds?

    • @millennialhomesteader
      @millennialhomesteader  9 місяців тому

      Thanks. Birds are said to be deterred from landing on or near garden vegetables if their vision is distracted. This is an an attempt to keep them off the beds. It has been working to an extent 😂
