I can’t believe you would ask questions then cut the man off before he finishes his answer.. Beautiful car but this was tough to watch due to the blatant disrespect of this engineer..
Agreed. He was just about to mention what they discovered about original chassis when they were stripping it and the fucker cut him off to talk about something else. 🤣🤣
Henry Catchpole would have done this interview justice. The video would have been twice as long, but that's the point. We want as much detail as possible. Hopefully Henry has an audience with this car sooner rather than later, so we can learn more.
Ollie interrupting the man is so annoying, he barely let him finish a sentence, that was a crappy behaviour, we want to hear the man talk not just Olly disrespectfully stopping him in the middle of every sentence.
Can't help but love what HWA has chosen to do. Bruno Sacco looks with modern tech is outside of my price range, but the 190E 2.5 Evo absolutely deserves the same amount of love that Kimera is giving the 037 and Alfaholics are giving the GTA
Absolute dream car right there, beautiful body lines. I actually bought a 190e with the intent of restoring one and it's such a huge undertaking. Poor thing is rotting lol
Dear Top Gear, I sincerely would love to watch this video at peace & with enjoyment of the explanation from the engineer. I believe every shot of videos are actually directed with certain time frame to be maintained for a content video. If would be great for your audiences and fans to watch a video content that is produced professionally without having to watch parts of the video where the interviewer seem rudely interrupting the explanations to the questions asked by the interviewer himself. If necessary, brief either one to only speak certain number of words in any interactions. (which seems to the issue) P.s - I couldn't bring myself to watch the video to the end after just less than 3 minutes of the video although the reason I clicked to watch because it caught my attention. I believe non of us (viewers & me) would like to hate anyone in the video. Thank you. With warm regards, Sebastian Ng
This HWA car is absolutely stunning! Technically, it's a masterpiece with its powerful V6 engine, and the design is just breathtaking. The attention to detail and the overall aesthetic make it a true work of art. I can't get enough of the sound either - pure adrenaline! HWA has truly outdone themselves with this model.
This is too awesome, building myself at this moment a w124 track car with a v6 m272 NA engine and standard location 6 speed manual transmission. Working on Engine placement so I fit the modern steering rack / deleting the rack box, then onto the cage!!! This video gives me so much motivation to finish it before this summer 2025 Thank you! Cheers
Electric restomod could be cool, depends on what car you’re gonna electrify. If we’re talking about classic performance cars like Mustangs, Ferraris and Porsches, then the answer is hell no. But cars like the Beetle, the Fiat 500, the Transporter, or micro cars like the Isetta, P50, then I’ll 100% choose the electric version, so much nice to drive.
Ich würde mir wünschen das Ihr Fahrzeug bei Schöne Sterne am 24 bis 25.08.2024 in Hattingen präsentiert wird. Das ist das beste Event des Jahres für Mercedes Liebhaber.
i love restomods like this. they are just always soo expensive. but for good reason. you have to have a tremendous amount of money to spend 750k on something like this instead of buying a revuelto or something a lot faster, modern and more exotic.
This looks a lot like what I've been wanting to do for a long time. A bare 190 and just fill it up with better parts and the Evo look. Friend of mine has an EX-DTM race car which fueled many ideas through the years.
Guys, Great Job, Very Insightful. The car was very nice. This is the future, older cars modified to performance beasts. Future classics in an Electric world.
I like it. It looks like an Evo with a widebody kit and some updates, I just hope it drives more updated. The mismatched rims are odd, I figure they're mid-decision, so my feedback is the six-spoke looks better. Another restomod that's undergone full crash test simulations is the Singer 911, since you asked.
He said they've developed both. This IS their mule - both for design and for testing. I'm pretty sure the customer cars will come with both sets included.
@@spdcrzy Oh, that's a cool option, especially if one set is for the track and one for the road, presuming it will be tracked by a few buyers at least.
@@spdcrzy Depends on the price and how many they make. Example: How many LaFerraris or T.50Ss have you seen on the Nurburgring compared to 911 GT3s and AMG GT3s? Too many winds up as museum pieces in some rich guy's garage who can't drive worth a 💩 and sees them as apreciating assets. I'm an oddball as a Texan, I'd drive the wheels off it, but I'm also retired, which means poor, so I won't get the chance.
Lets hope they can build one for hill climb events - perhaps even Pikes Peak. This retro shape is far more appealing to the eye than majority of modern designed sports cars & very impractible supercars
Which car would you like to see HWA restore/build/reinterpret next?
Just this one, but with modern V8.
McLaren F1
BMW E46 M3
first gen a class it would be neat
SLC rallycar
A real pity that the HWA engineer has been interrupted and cut short on every second sentence. Let the man finish his explanations, please.
I felt the same sentiment. It was like he was attempting to rush the interview and was disrespectful as well
I agree
I think he is trying to act excited but comes off really wrong..😅
Noticed this too, less than 1.5minutes into the video 😢
It’s an interesting interview technique
Try not to interrupt mid-sentence
Ollie: Impossible
I can’t believe you would ask questions then cut the man off before he finishes his answer.. Beautiful car but this was tough to watch due to the blatant disrespect of this engineer..
Dude has attention disorder. Like most people these days...
I absolutely loathe when people do that. Let the man speak.
He was literally just about to explain what they had done and then gets interrupted every 2 seconds!! Very frustrating start to the interview
the interviewer needs to let the guy talk,,, cringing for everytime he talks over the poor guy or cuts him off while he is talking
Agreed. He was just about to mention what they discovered about original chassis when they were stripping it and the fucker cut him off to talk about something else. 🤣🤣
Actually, he's trying to justify guy's 3/4 million dollar mod...
Swear to God man, the interruption makes me tired.
Henry Catchpole would have done this interview justice. The video would have been twice as long, but that's the point. We want as much detail as possible.
Hopefully Henry has an audience with this car sooner rather than later, so we can learn more.
I love Henry
Youuu are god damnnnn right!
Yes sir. He is a real listener very important no listening here just wants to talk
LET THE FREAKING DUDE TAAAAAAAAAAAALKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It was a lively conversation I dont understand why you all are hating on the guy.
"It's me!!! The interrupter"
Oh no. Now I have to spend the next three hours watching clips of Brian Stack.
He's like the shittest bond villain 😂

He's so annoying
👍😂
Ollie interrupting the man is so annoying, he barely let him finish a sentence, that was a crappy behaviour, we want to hear the man talk not just Olly disrespectfully stopping him in the middle of every sentence.
German man is a real engineer saying "The engine block is three and a half cylinder long." Appreciate that one 👍
3:43 not only does he interrupt, but he doesn't even know what he's going to say before he opens his mouth.
Ollie kept interrupting every sentence
Ollie really wanted to be somewhere else, trying to rush the interview
Very disrespectful
He has terrible camera presence. Sounds super uninterested and no charisma
For future content, please allow the person we want to hear from, speak.
He does this every time... I don't get why they even send him on these things still
Can’t believe top gear got that dork to interrupt the engineer every second sentense
Let the man finish a sentence. Jesus Christ.
"it's not a restomod, it's something else altogether"
*Proceeds to put 'restomod' in the title*
Nice one ollie😂
That's on the editor/social media manager.
It's still a restomod......
It's a restomod the same way a Singer or RUF is a Porsche restomod. Incredibly high quality
@@amazin7006 RUF isn't restomod, they did stuff mostly in period, so it's a tuning company. Except for the new SCR, they're a legit OEM now.
@@amazin7006 RUF is a car manufacturer
It’s so funny that top gear will never respond to anyone because then they’d have to acknowledge the criticism which of course they will never do.
Unwatchable, why do an interview if you don’t want to listen to the person you interviewing. I never post comments. But this is ridiculous!
Frustrating that the guy keeps interrupting the engineer. Let him SPEAK!

Thanks for letting us hear it for 5 seconds with FX noise blocking everything
Totally agree... another reason why this video is poor. Interrupting and then stupid fx over the engine sound. I expected better from TG
@@hairyclassics1789 TG is dead, for so long that even it doesn't smell anymore, is just a pile of dry bones...
i've been dreaming about a car just like this but with a NA V8, or the modern turbo V8. Beautiful work!

Lotus Carlton and M5.

Now the Evo got what has been missing for about 30 years.
Mean, serios optic 😈
One of the most iconic cars ever designed, and this mod enhanced every nuance it already has. Very impressed!
Pleasantly surprised by a lack of Ollies "what a thing" trope, unpleasantly surprised(?) by his hubris not letting the hwa cto tell us about his car 😂
Absolute dream car right there, beautiful body lines. I actually bought a 190e with the intent of restoring one and it's such a huge undertaking. Poor thing is rotting lol

Reasons why still I am a classic car lover. They have class

Let’s be honest. Restomod is the coolest tuning for an older car (except if it’s being electrified).

electric can be cool, ever hear an electric motor over volted out of it's mined? it sounds like an F1 car 20 decibels quieter
@@Dante_S550_Turbo maybe a hybrid resto mod not full ev. Imo I see that a resto luxury cruiser would make more sense as a ev.

What a build - amazing 👍🏼👍🏼
At that point, why not just build a completely new car? Why try to recycle a chassis of a really old really expensive car...
Maybe because if they keep the chassis it’s still the original car and they don’t have to get it approved as a new build?
So they can use old vins and it doesnt have to build the car to the standards of a new one.
