Its hard to convert people today almost impossible. For Christianity to have converted pegan Rome aka Babylon as Peter called it must had only be done by tremendous miracles. John 4:48 48 Jesus therefore said to him, “Unless you see signs and wonders you will not believe.”
It wasn't a magic show though, Christianity became adopted because of its social mission to care for the poor and unloved, and because it offered forgiveness and eternal life.
