I'm a decent origami "technician" - "origami sequence" is one of the must-have books. The designs are challenging but bery doable and the results are fantastic. One can only hope there's a sequel soon!
Really enjoyed the video I started folding the same way from books, then the internet came along with UA-cam. I finally started to fold my own designs just from playing around. I can now fold about 8 different animals of my own design. I fold from memory only. I wish new how to draw plans but it's to hard for me. I also fold from intuition as well as A to B style.
I have no wish to design origami, I design silk embroidery, and clothing. We all have our gifts. But I do enjoy folding. I'm only just starting on the more complicated origami (failing 4 times out of 5) but I really enjoy it.
Gosh @Clay Arnall thank you so much for sharing this wonderful random video! One of my daughter in laws is quite talented with her Origami skills. She even created each flower for her wedding when she married my son in Roanoke VA 😍
Just amazing how you went from following instructions to creating such unique beauty. Are you perhaps a Myers-Brigs INFJ personality? I too received gifts of Origami and Kirigami sets when I was a small child. I loved to do it and even got to go to a Japan sister city friendship expo that included origami workshops one time. I always keep packs of the paper around to give as small gifts for children and some in case the desire to fold hits me. I've noticed a few Tube vids just recently on creative origami gift boxes that are new and different to anything I've seen before, but your works are just over the top. Thank you for sharing them.
I have some books on modular origami, which is making units of origami, sometimes all the same, sometimes different, and sliding them together to become a larger design. No glue used, just creating pockets and tabs that fit together. I’ve made many beautiful boxes like that, and I’ve also seen designs that are more geometric type designs. All origami is created by just folding, no cutting or gluing, although kirigami is a type that involves scissors. I am amazed at the beautiful designs people create

Has been his fan for a very long time. I just hope one day he could make a design course.
