He is the Captain we need. Seriously, I was so happy with Captain Titus. That singular game did more to restore the Ultramarines reputation than almost anything else in recent years.
@@FatalShadow13 He also did a great job as ol' Gregor Eisenhorn in the "Eisenhorn: Xenos" game, so I hear (bought it, haven't had a chance to play it yet). That said, I really enjoyed Strong as 'Dr. Sivana' in the Shazam movie. When the man gets to be a villain that goes full ham a bit, he can do it with _gusto._ It was *very* enjoyable.
If I was an Imperial Guard Regiment Colonel (Death Korps of course) fighting a swarm of heretic Imperial Army (yes I meant army) and guard along with 500 Traitor Astartes including Death Guard Marines and a full chapters worth of Leandros like Marines led by Cato came down to render assistance, I would, directly and flatly, tell them to fuck off. I don't need backstabbing newbs as back up. I'll take one Sidonous or one Titus over them any day.
He does one man an orc war boss, a bunch of orcs, a bunch of chaos war band, and a Chaos sorcerer- twice. That's kind of Mary sue-ish. Sure, he's given flaws and he isn't randomly made the best in any particular field like the Ultra marines tank commander, but he's still shown as extremely better then the vast majority of space marines.
I wonder if Titus, or Titus-like, will be addressed by Guilliman? We know that Guilliman intended Titus' interpretation of the Codex to be the proper one.
@@xenoblad ya but he is a captain that dose mean he is supposed to be better to be better than most space marines better than most ultramarines even. secondly you have to remember that lore ande game play don't always go hand in hand
I, Cato Sicarious am better that the former Captian Titus as I, Cato Sicarious, have not ever been blames of being a heretic as I, Cato Sicarious, am perfect.
One other possibility is discussed by Colonel-Commisar Gaunt of the Tanith First and Only to an Inquisitor regarding a theory of Chaos Resistance called 'The Armor of Contempt.' In the book of the same name, an entire resistance movement fighting for years on a Chaos controlled planet showed virtually no signs of Chaos corruption, even considering many had been branded with a fungal sign of identification. Gaunt, who had fought with these rebels years earlier, expressed his belief that their hatred of Chaos was so great that it nullified the psychic corruptions of Chaos. Considering the great rage Titus has against the Chaos Marines in the game, especially when his close ally Sedonis was murdered, it is entirely possible that this 'Armor of Contempt' provided the means for him to resist even direct Warp attacks.
Makes a lot of sense, I wonder if his earlier experience with the chaos lord was like a sort of initial inoculation. And Sedonis' death was like a booster. The Armor of Contempt may actually be humanities natural resistance to chaos. Like our immune system the Armor needs to be able to identify the corruption and have a soul that is willing to die fighting chaos. Just like our immune system starts to fail if you give up, your Armor of Contempt needs you to stay strong. Things like faith could reinforce that willingness to fight chaos, in turn increasing their hate for chaos and its corruption. Making their armor much stronger. Hell, Titus's faith in the Emperor and Humanity could be his Armor of Contempt. Wishing only for his species to prosper, and his hate for all who would threaten it being comparable a nova.
It was also speculated by Inquisitor Lornas Welt that the native toxins and the venomous moths of the Untill regions on Gereon could be a curative remedy against Chaos taint; however, it seems to be strongly implied by Surgeon Ana Curth, after her and MkVenner's extended stay on Gereon to help the rebels and the Partisans, that any beneficial effects of Untill moth venom are combo-platter of broad-spectrum antimicrobial with a slight effect against the weaker physical manifestations of Chaos corruption, such as those found in wounds that refuse to heal or the rapid sickening of individuals that were otherwise at the peak of health and conditioning.
Here is my theory: Titus was protected by the Emperor himself. Why? Because he is one of the few people who fits his dream of humanity and space marines: he is an independent thinker who can get things done and he is loyal to humanity (and i don't think i need to mention his auramite balls). Also the Emperor doesn't hear the Chaos Gate chant (and doesn't get a headache) when he looks at him :D
Titus: the first of few Ultramarines that i actually like. a theory i have about Titus is that the Warp itself gave him the resistance he has, the part of it that is protected by the Tree of Life. as for the traitor Leandros.... "The Codex Astartes is a set of rules. They guide us... shape us as Ultramarines... teach us to hold duty and honor sacred above all. But how we live with those rules is the true test of a Space Marine. And you have failed." - Titus to Leandros after the liberation of Forge World Graia.
And Leandros has failed Codex too, as he was supposed to report suspected heresy of the battle-brother to a chaplain or a Chapter Master, not an inquisitor!
cnlbenmc “I CATO SICARIUS REPLACED THE BEST ULTRAMARINE CHARACTER OF ALL TIME AND THEREFORE SHOULD BE CONSIDERED BETTER” You beggin’ for a fistin’, boy?
Titus' "golden aura" special effect during Fury mode might be a key: The Emperor LITERALLY protects Titus, similar to a Living Saint, due to Titus' devotion to the cause of Man. The Emperor may have found the captain essential for future plans that would've unfolded in sequential games . . . .
Also, Titus defeated a daemon prince with (drum roll) his bare hands!!! No mere Astartes, even a Captain, should be able to do that alone. Call it bad writing, or call it a little help from our golden friend . . . .
Was Titus a follower of the Imperial Cult or of the Imperial Truth? Since he's an Ultramarine, I'm assuming the latter. It would have been funny to have had an Imperial Saint that does not believe the Emperor is a god, especially if at any time in the lore Titus ran into Celestine.
Mr Alumina they should really consider bringing him back maybe having transferred(if that’s possible for Astartes) to the one chapter where his personality traits and ideals would be welcomed with open arms: the salamanders
@@dionjaywoollaston1349 They may be reminded of Artellus Numeon's close friend he made scalloped armor for. They would give Titus's armor scale-scallops.
The Irony is, of course, Titus's understanding of the Codex was Robute's original intent. But the ret of the Ultramarines have become so hidebound and dominated by the idea of living up to the letter of their Fathers teachings they have forgotten it's true meaning. It was this rebellion that was seen by many as Titus's first steps of heresy when in reality it was something completely different! Personally I think his shear force of will and faith in his Chapter shielded him. We have seen the same happen several times, with particular devout characters withstanding Chaos's influence, if only for a short time. Making it doubly ironic and tragic that in the end it's his own Battle Brother that is the first to cry heretic!
Now that he is back , he should be put on sequel telling directly a leandros face how much of a heretic moron he is , that would be glorious who better than papa smurf himself

ThomasFishwick it’s triple ironic because leandros actually went against the codex by reporting titus to the inquisition instead of the chapter chaplain, and besides living up to your fathers teachings isn’t always bad prime example of that is the salamanders Chapter whom I believe titus would be perfect for

The ability to endure and endure no matter how many fall beside you and no matter how bleak your situation may seem, because at some point that bleakness will fade. Unlike the Ultramarines which actually ARE imperialist as they have their own sub-empire they expand within the Imperium, the Fists were trusted by the Emperor because they are what humanity is at its best
Warsmith Time: We have learned in Stormcaller, the second of Chris Wraight's trilogy that recently there has been a process called "Awakening" that occurs within the near infinite ranks of humanity. Psionic abilities which are triggered by specific events such as war and strife. We have also learned that although the Librarius and other organizations test for psionic abilities they sometimes are unable to properly see how or if they exist, as was the case with Baldr from the mentioned series. Humanity lacks a full comprehension of what is possible in terms of its psionic evolution, it is likely that exposure to the warp energy merely triggered Titus gifts.
Most likely, Titus was so totally badass that he could resist the corruption through sheer force of will. Such individuals tend to have brighter souls so it's possible the Sorcerer mistook it for a latent connection to the warp.
We are going quite a long way around the block in order to walk next-door. Ultramarines are known for iron discipline, CPT Titus was disciplined. CPT Titus would not be MORE resilient to Chaos power if he had partially fallen, but MORE VULNERABLE. Nemeroth tempted him with the honeyed words of Chaos and also attempted to beat him with the iron stick of the power of Chaos. Neither worked. If Titus were actually already influenced, the exposure to the maximum power of the power source along with the direct power and offer of power from Nemeroth, then Titus would have reflected some outward sign of corruption, like his heretic cousins. He did not. He showed NO signs of corruption either physically or in his behavior. Titus was actively trying to KILL NEMEROTH. I know this because I was controlling him in my video game! If he could have done it earlier, he would. Captain Titus had two things that saved him: the grace of and faith in the Emperor. The deep connection to the Warp was the power of the Emperor. Nemeroth was just trying to tempt Titus. He was shielded, warded, granted supernatural speed and skill, and with that, he was able to overcome not only crushing numerical inferiority, but the full powers of the Warp and heretic veterans of the long war. The Emperor shielded Titus before and saved him for this monumental task on Graia. Mundane explanations of simple skill don't explain it. He was obviously not a blank, not only for the ample reasons stated but because he put the humans and astartes around him at ease, not unease. Lieutenant Mira apparently thought that Titus was "dreamy". I am a little disappointed that you did not explore this possibility. If anyone were taking the first steps down the 8-fold path, it was Leandros. He was over-killing orks, nay-saying the strategies of the Captain, and trying to remove the best piece from the board that the Imperial forces had using the Inquisition, thus taking eyes off of his iniquities. Captain Titus is in the Deathwatch serving his Emperor well.

I really hope Black Library picks up his story where it was left of, considering how we were meant to get a sequel to his story anyways. That being said, I would love for him to possibly make an appearance in the current canon to at least meet and interact with Guilliman along with the other ultramarine characters like Cato.
I agree, the original story arc was suppose to have him become a rogue space marine and then become redeemed in the eyes of the imperium and form his own chapter. Which is something I would love to see
@@seank4150 could be cool to see him go old school Legionary blackshield. Not petitioning the Deathwatch, but grabbing stragglers cut off from their chapters during Ruinstorm 2: Electric Boogaloo. My personal head-canon regarding this matter has always been the following: It was Inquisitor Drogan who first stated that exposure to the device was so dangerous, but due to the fact that he had already been possessed by a daemon by the time Titus met him, his word on the matter cannot be trusted. Drogan’s “surprise” at Titus being able to “withstand” exposure was simply an act, one meant to sow the seeds of suspicion amongst the Ultramarines who were present. As the daemon possessing Drogon was a servant of Nemeroth, than it stands to reason that it informed its master of what it had done since taking control of Drogan, including the fact it had begun to sow doubts amongst the Astartes. We never see anyone else who is not already uncorrupted handling the device. In reality, it’s no where near as corrupting as Drogan makes it out to be, therefore almost anyone could handle being exposed. That fact, combined with Titus’s loyalty and devotion to serving the Emperor made him impossible to be effected. Also, can I just say that it was pretty dumb of Leandros to continue to trust the word of Inquisitor Drogan once they learned his was a puppet of Chaos? That’s literally trusting the word of your enemy about the trustworthiness of your superior officer. Even if my theory above is not true, it’s still a mark against Leandros’s level of intelligence.
well from what was known of the production: -Titus was supposed to be branded rebel and hunted by the inquisition on the second game. -redeemed and funded a new loyalist chapter in the third game. so taking this into account. I think He was a mix of disciplined mind, and some mutation in the geneseed that allowed some degree of warp immunity and a degree of emperor immunity form his firm faith. (living saint?) sadly we probably will never know with 100% certainty T_T
Titus is no simple blank, but blessed by the protective Ward of Matticus, a non-warp extra-dimensional entity who has guided and aided the Ultramarines' fate itself. This entity's effects leaves echoes of its influence long after it has halted it's actions.

Far-out theory: When the Chaos sorcerer killed Titus' former squad, the churning of the Warp due to the energies released at that point in space and time created a unique situation wherein the souls of Titus' deceased squad members became permanently attached to him instead of dissipating into the Warp or going to the Emperor. So now, even if Titus doesn't realize it, wherever he goes he's never fighting alone. The souls of his fallen brothers are silently there beside him, protecting his still-living soul and giving him a measure of Warp-resistance.
Technically, Bruvvah.... So do we. Blender + 3D printing = Captain Motherf*cking TITUS We just need a fan (NOT WARD) to write the fluff for it, and stat it out. Boom--Titus.
There was something else I learned whilst playing the game and finding some of the Inquisitor's Audio logs. It was mentioned in the video - the Psychic Scourge was meant to target *specific* races based on their Warp signature, and thus far during the tests, it was attuned to affect only various Xenos and not humans. And throughout the game, the only "human" to be exposed by it was Titus. Could it be that the power source is also attuned when the weapon is? Although prolonged exposure could bring about the taint, the way the weapon was tuned meant it's affects on Humans and Astartes were minimum if only exposed briefly as it was not attuned to affect them the same way it was attuned to affect Xenos? Although Nemeroth did use his powers on Titus, such as when he first appeared, the other times it seemed he was channeling his powers through the Power Source when he was casting them, around the same time Titus seemingly no longer appeared to be affected by them anymore.
When the emperor was placed in the golden throne part of his soul shattered, most of this fragments taking a own personality on their own but sharing some of the Emperor's characteristics, there is the chance he is a fragment of Papa Bones, wich could explains his immunity to the warp.
Titus could be a latent living saint. The fury mechanic in the game hints this possibility with all the gold aura and the wings of light, thought the later is only visible for a short time when fury is activated
I think the Emperor intervened on his behalf, protecting him from the corrupting powers of the warp as he was a warrior willing to do whatever was needed to defeat the enemies of man. The ability to adapt would be more valuable than pure compliance to the Codex Astarte's. I like to think that when the inquisitor got back to his base, there was a member of the Custodes to talk Titus off his hands and bring him back to Holy Terra to be given an audience with the Emperor and then placed in a top secret group who wages a shadow War against the enemies of man whom us only answerable to the Captain General of the Custodes.
I figure he has some sort of resistance because of the gear he was carrying. But the latent psychic thing makes sense. His rage ability. It sounds like some of the documented powers. It's also biomancy, cause it heals him. He doesn't get corrupted because he practices it so much during the game.
Easy retcon: He was the 2nd Company Captain before Sicarius. After Gaia he was put on trial before Marneus Calgar and the Inquisition. No taint is found, but he did go against the tenants of the Codex Astartes - as I imagine Calgar would put it - "Once too often". His unique purity, resilience, abilities and mindset, however, makes him perfect for the elite armed force of the Imperium for unique astartes - the Deathwatch Que the Space Marine sequel: WARHAMMER 40K: DEATHWATCH ASTARTES

Titus wasn't the sole survivor of the events of Space Marine, Leandros survived as well. He snitcted and was responsible for Titus' arrest by the Inquisition.
I never said he was. When I said he was the sole surviving member of his squad, that was during a campaign _prior_ to the events of Space Marine. "During a campaign against the forces of Chaos, Titus would be sole surviving member of his squad following an encounter with a powerful Chaos Sorcerer. Titus was grievously wounded in the attack, but would succeed in slaying the psyker, avenging the deaths of his brothers in the process. This conflict would later see the death of the second company’s captain, and Titus would eventually be chosen to act as his successor. "
@40KTheories I misunderstood. You did say "Prior." My mistake. The way you explained how the mission played out immediately reminded me of the events of the second half of the Space Marine game. Most notably Titus fighting Chaos, battling a powerful Chaos Sorcerer (Nemeroth), avenging the death of his Brothers (Sergeant Sidonus), etc.

One of the best Ultramarines - on the tier level of Agemman, Gage, Ventris, Thiel, and Auguston. It's a crime that we'll never get a sequel for Space Marine.
I prefer to believe that Titus's faith in the Emperor is what protected him. After all, Titus is the only one able to enter a martial trance. So, in a sense, I also agree that it's likely he's a latent psyker but his faith and willpower was all he needed to resist corruption. In my own dumb head canon, we all helped Titus resist corruption with OUR faith in the Emperor.
When I played SM for the first time, I was just starting to get into W40K, and because of titus I genuinely tought that the Ultramarines were the most awesome and best of the bunch and that everyone agreed upon this, until I said this in a facebook page and discovered the hard truth
I had a little kitten I named Titus after the game came out. I miss him. He lives in a nice farm lot house now. But we used to "wrestle" play all the time id let him bite the hell out of me for tummy tickles. Titus is a pure cat marine and I am the cat emperor to prove it!
The theory of Titus being a latent psyker opens up some interesting observations. In following this theory, the “rage” meter that you use in game, which many point to as a sign of Khornate corruption, could possibly be construed as Titus passively using Biomancy to enhance his battlefield prowess.
A less likely alternate theory: Titus managed to archive the full potential of what Gulliman's gene-seed could provide him. Guilliman has shown that in extremis he either can manifest powers like the Emperor as seen in the novel Godblight or is capable of channeling the Emperor. Consider how the Primarchs would have been ultimate pure examples and derivatives of the Emperor, being 20 shining beacons of him that got corrupted by the Warp. Many had abilities that were supernatural yet were not obviously pyscher-like or displayed the abilities of a psyker. Superior regeneration, unusual resilience, invisibility of one kind of another, ability to calm the Warp, etc. What if Guilliman did not discover his own abilities simply because he did not believe he have any (and ironically somewhat protect him from exposure to the Warp simply because he refused to believe it). Guilliman has shown unnatural resistance to the Warp, which was chalked off to him just being a primarch but what if it is more than that? What if Titus is tapping into the same ability? First when he confronted that Chaos sorcerer and later on, without thinking about it?
When the game was finished, I immediately thought of, and really liked, the idea that he was actually a latent psyker. Somehow making it through testing for such a thing by the Chapter's Librarians would have been unlikely but not impossible. I envisioned it as some passive skill that assisted him without him being aware, increasing his combat prowess and situational instincts, which led to his exemplary performance and him rising through the ranks. Although, this likely meant that those Black Templars assisting the Inquisitor at the end killed him.
I like the explanation that he was previously touched by chaos and resisted it. He was tainted but that gave him the insight to resist further corruption
I think Titus is just pure of heart like Castellan Crowe. Who is able to wield a demon weapon for hundreds of years and not a ounce of corruption or temptation.
There is another option that might be a bit different as well. We know that Faith can do a lot, such as the entire thing with the Sisters of Battle being largely uncorruptable without extraordinary means, there have been hints of this also applying to other Imperials with the origins of various Imperial Saints. His faith and determination might hint towards his faith being a shield there. Basically, the Emperor Protects having a tangible effect concerning him. The thing with Numeroth returning to the Warp in the end seems to have simply been incomplete knowledge on things, your example of the other interrupted apotheosis did involve Ultramarines, and Titus is a higher ranking member, so having some basic knowledge of the situation fits, but even there you wouldn't have everything. Also, the guy being in terminator armor with everything else would make him a tough nut to crack for someone in standard power armor, so it would make sense for him to have gone through everything he'd learned for the best chance to actually take the sorcerer down. Of course, other things might be that he simply had more of a psychic resistance than normal...or enough talent to learn the protections and not much else. Hell, it would fit his take on tactics in the game for him to have approached the chapter librarians to be taught how to resist warp based energies in the past and simply have considered it a relatively normal thing regarding mental discipline...or even had seen powers cause bad things in the past and took it upon himself to prepare for running into more.
Great Marine, too good for the Smurfs, should have been a Salamander. Make him a Grey Knight or something, I'd love to see a sequel with him like that. Yes, I know that's not how Grey Knights are made.
I think during that first psyker assault he was affected similar to being infected the cold. After the "infection" he got, he became inoculated to the certain effects of the warp.
Isn't it established that "blanks" don't so much nulify warp powers as supposed to weaken them. Though for a majority of psykers a ordinary blank is enough, for a particular powerful psyker may just be weakened by the blank. This explains why Titus was the only to survive.
Titus is the man. Simple enough. I enjoy the Titus vids you put out. I read, a while ago, that Titus's game was supposed to be a trilogy, ending with him becoming a chapter commander of his own space marine legion. How does that effect the theories, if that was the desired direction for him?
Well, if capitan Titus was really a latent psyker, that would also expain what Nemeroth meant when said that "Ony deep connection to the Warp can explain this". Maybe he didnt meant that Titus was corrupted at some point but that Titus had psychic potential.
My personal theory is that maybe the assault of the chaos sorcerer planted the seed of corruption inside Titus in his earlier days, but that his strong willpower and mindset somehow, to a certain degree, laid it in chains and prefented it from fully taking him over, but still benefiting Titus by making him more resilient to warp based powers. Thus combined with his strong will could explain why he was untouched by the power core and Nemeroth's powers. But i also think that Titus did take a large risk at the same time. As the sources state was the power core a heavily corrupting piece. Being only near it was touching you with the taint of chaos. But Titus resisted. Here, however, comes the tricky part. I played the game myself, and whenever Nemeroth suppressed Titus and his squad only Titus could move, but even he struggled to do so. I believe this is due to a portion of his willpower was still holding the seed of taint inside him in chains, preventing it from breaking out. Otherwise he could have repelled Nemeroth's assault with ease. Whatever it is.... We'll sadly never know :( We know how good the Inquisition can keep things unspoken if they deem it to dangerous to be discovered by anyone. And the Ultramarines know this fact, too. That's why they honor Titus with a statue. They know he's lost. The Emperor shall be mercyfull to Titus' soul and he in return shall serve at his side forever.
I really like the idea of Titus having a pure soul, fortified not necessarily by special training but by willpower. Or possibly the Emperor, because Lord Bloodraven's suggestion that he is is indeed the coolest. _"You, warrior, bear my protection. Go forth and deliver righteous wrath, in my name!"_ (yes, I know the Emperor doesnt exactly send out messages except in TTS. I just like to imagine that's what the Emperor thinks).
If I remember right there was an interview with the developers where they said he would of gone renegade, likely on the run from the inquisition due to their bias. Unable to return to the ultramarines due to this. Also I wanted to see more of what would of happened to Leandros because without question he would of become a pariah of the chapter, never looked to and always shunned. The marine who was known as the one who handed a fellow marine over to the inquisition instead of letting the chapter deal with it back home. It might of been interesting if Leandros was seen later in the story having left the ultramarines due to this and in turn had fallen to chaos himself.
Now that Guilliman has returned he would most likely welcome back Titus with open arms, since Titus is the only one who took the Codex as Guilliman envisioned it, as guidelines and not shackles. Leandros probably did became a Pariah since if you suspect a fellow Brother to be corrupted, you carry your concern to the Chapter Master and not call in a fucking Inquisitor right away!

For the part of nemeroth, i think i have an explanation of why Titus suggested to let it start transforming and then attacking: Experience. Titus already fought with another chaos sorcerer, but it could be that said sorcerer was already transforming, Titus saw the chance and realised that he is weaker while transforming. He tought that may work in nemeroths case too, but sadly, while he indeed stop the invasion, he failed to kill him, realising that this strategy is a real hit or miss. This might also explain the slighty connection to the warp. But that would be strange, the chapthers librarians would have found that out quickly thou

Not even a voice as monotonous as yours could make that sound any less badass.
Tell your Black templars to return Titus to me RIGHT NOW!!!
Are the Black Templars Imperial Fists successors?

Same. I should boot up the 360 some time... or is it backwards compatible on the One? Hm.
My personal head-canon regarding this matter has always been the following:
It was Inquisitor Drogan who first stated that exposure to the device was so dangerous, but due to the fact that he had already been possessed by a daemon by the time Titus met him, his word on the matter cannot be trusted.
Even if my theory above is not true, it’s still a mark against Leandros’s level of intelligence.
well from what was known of the production:
-Titus was supposed to be branded rebel and hunted by the inquisition on the second game.
-redeemed and funded a new loyalist chapter in the third game.
so taking this into account. I think He was a mix of disciplined mind, and some mutation in the geneseed that allowed some degree of warp immunity and a degree of emperor immunity form his firm faith. (living saint?)
sadly we probably will never know with 100% certainty T_T
Now we know
Titus is no simple blank, but blessed by the protective Ward of Matticus, a non-warp extra-dimensional entity who has guided and aided the Ultramarines' fate itself. This entity's effects leaves echoes of its influence long after it has halted it's actions.

Thanks for making this again, Remliez.
While that theory is outlandish... does kind of explain the 'Rage' mechanic.

Titus: Lawful Good done right.
YES
he is neutral good though
Leandros: “nobody can withstand the energies of the Warp and remain uncorrupted!”
Kaldor Draigo: “watch this, sonny.”
Poor Titus, we may never know his fate

Oh, Captain Titus, sing country roads for me one more time.
Dammnit. I hated that they killed him in that movie. I really liked his character.
Easy retcon: He was the 2nd Company Captain before Sicarius. After Gaia he was put on trial before Marneus Calgar and the Inquisition.
Kristopher Marsh Khornate Corruption? Sorry pretty much new to 40k...
Just played through the game for the first time in a few years today, and now you make a video about it. Happy coincidence!
Shady Character: *Opens trench coat to reveal Titus within*
Me: *Glances around nervously, wipes brow.* Oh man, that's some pure shit.
I think during that first psyker assault he was affected similar to being infected the cold. After the "infection" he got, he became inoculated to the certain effects of the warp.
Like the marines of the exorcists chapter
The Emperor protected his chosen champion.
Titus' Faith in the Emperor is more then enough to shield him from the taint of Chaos.
Isn't it established that "blanks" don't so much nulify warp powers as supposed to weaken them. Though for a majority of psykers a ordinary blank is enough, for a particular powerful psyker may just be weakened by the blank. This explains why Titus was the only to survive.
Titus is PURE!
The Inquisition simply assumes no one post-heresy has enough fortitude to withstand warp energy unaided.
Plot twist, Leandros got corrupted. :/
I was rarely so happy as when I played this game for the 1st time....it saddens me to no end it never got a sequel.
This whole plot line was the biggest bruh moment of the 42nd millenium
The betrayal of Leandros will never be forgotten
Better safe than sorry
@@PerturaBased ha a cowards answer

For the part of nemeroth, i think i have an explanation of why Titus suggested to let it start transforming and then attacking: Experience.
Titus already fought with another chaos sorcerer, but it could be that said sorcerer was already transforming, Titus saw the chance and realised that he is weaker while transforming. He tought that may work in nemeroths case too, but sadly, while he indeed stop the invasion, he failed to kill him, realising that this strategy is a real hit or miss. This might also explain the slighty connection to the warp. But that would be strange, the chapthers librarians would have found that out quickly thou
The only tolerable and likeable Ultramarines, love him
Uriel Ventris is pretty great aswell.
@@GeorgeSoroshasenteredthechat not even Guilliman likes you Mary Sue Smurf
He's an Ultra-Toilet Second Captain, which means that he has plot armor probably comparable to Cato Sicarius' and is the "Pinnacle" of Space Marines.
I like to think that it was a "Just as planned" moment though.
I personally think he was a latent psyker but his great faith in the emperor caused his powers to partially manifest as a shield against the warp, "the Emperor protects" after all.
Is there a possibility that Titus is like TTS Fyodor, a shard of the emperor if you will?
The armour of contempt, commisar Ibram Gaunt recommends telling the corrupting powers of Chaos to shove it
Latent psyker would make sense given his abilities in his Fury mode (slow time, regen, etc...).
Rem... do you have a camera in my home? on a whim i re-downloaded the game and re-beat the campaign, then you make a video about Titus.
Chaos Demons: Parle?
Captain Titus:
Firstly, you will be slain in the name of the Emperor.
Secondly, you must be an Ultramarine for the Codex to apply to you and you are not.
And thirdly, The codex is more what you'd call "guidelines" than actual rules. WELCOME TO 40K, Mr. Demon!
Titus is one of the finest examples of the Adeptus Astartes, i personaly do not think he was suffering any form of "chaotic" corruption more rather the emperor was proud that there was an ultrasmurf not giving him a headache and so was keeping a watch on him, I am infact inclined to believe Titus was on his way to becoming a living saint
