6 years ago, when I first started playing disc golf. There weren’t many how to videos on UA-cam. Will was one of the few. All of my beginner tips I got from his video. So thank you Will! I appreciate you so much! And I’ve even came back from time to time, to refresh. To see if I’d gotten away from what I learned. Well, anyways, here I am, all these years later. A much better disc golfer thanks to you. Still working on perfecting my form. This video is exactly what I needed to see in the moment. So many moving parts, I truly enjoy hearing your professional break down. 🤘🏻
About 8 or 9 years ago, Will piped a drive into circle one at Maple Hill on the "Kevin Jones Hole," number 16. My 5-year-old offered a fist bump behind the tee and Will gave him one with a big smile. Griffin and I are fans for life since then. It was a hell of a drive to see in person and my son was ecstatic to get to see it and get a fist bump! I miss Haverhill as well, it's a great course not too far north of Maple Hill.
I did not think the loaded back leg was that important. I just get to the front leg quckly and try to brace against it and throw.....and its terrible! It seems like if you load your back leg then you can move into the brace like baseball. This is making sense now. I'm floored at how far you threw that weird front leg off the ground. I've never come close to that distance in 7 yrs. We have 3-4 more months of crappy northern NY weather. Hope this will be a breakout year for me. thanks for posting again.
Awesome instruction. You’re a natural teacher. I’d love to see you put out tutorial-style stuff on here because I think it would do really well. Also I’m rooting for you this year. Saw you at Waco a couple months ago and you were looking pretty solid.
Hmm. I like the idea of the loading up the back leg and just moving the front foot forward. No run up. Maybe I wouldn't loose any distance because I know I do the "run through" or dump all my weight onto my front foot incorrectly. When you brace you are coming to a stop from running forward and then turning on the front heel. It's hard to convert the forward momentum in rotational forces, so maybe a no run up is a good training tool. If I did this enough, I would know what the brace should feeling with the "X-Step". Sounds good to me. thanks
Thx, it's a good beginner/fundamentals video! Just weird to see you putt with the right arm since I've not watched so much old content being "new" in the sport.
what about the action of the lead leg when you begin to pull through and your weight shifts from back to front? is it a toe to heal plant and then rotate like feldberg explains? is it just a whole foot plant, brace and then rotate naturally? Any advice on training that action or material to point me too? thats where my body is sticking with learning this. Thank you for the free content, it has helped me a ton.
@@samhowl1152 😆Free instruction where you have to crank the speakers super loud and have your ears blown off when the commercials suddenly come on or a truck passes in the background. There are editing tools that can help the audio and there are plenty of UA-camrs giving good, free instruction without audio issues. 😉 If Will wants to compete with them, he might want to think about the quality of what he is putting out.
@@dlewisfl he's clearly not trying to have a big UA-cam. He rarely posts and gets few views. It is not worth his time to worry about the complaints of single individuals. No one cares that you're unhappy with the video. No one.
@@samhowl1152 No one cares, yet you keep replying! I'm glad you think you know what his goals are for UA-cam, he says in the comments he has hours of video and wants people to subscribe. That's what people looking to build their UA-cam presence do, in case you were not aware. Oh wait, he's only interested in a few views per video according to you. 🤣 He's activated ads so clearly he's looking to make some money, good for him. Putting out videos people will stop watching after two minutes because of poor audio quality won't help him do that. But I guess no one is allowed to point that out.
@@dlewisfl yes, because he hasn't heard the audio..🙄 Having hours of footage is from him being a disc golf coach. Lots of channels have ads on that don't making any money. I'd have them on too. Responding to something doesn't mean you care about it. It means grow up and stop whining. If you paid for it, you'd have room to complain. If you don't find it valuable, fuck off ya twat

Very good clinic, definitely learned more here than watching tons of videos on UA-cam
Thanks 👊🏽

As long as it goes in ;)
Any chance of doing a middle tn clinic or another par 2 event. That was great
Thank you for sharing this

Great video. Had to wear headphones tho. The audio was pretty quiet
Sorry about that, next clinic I film Ill have a mic to record the audio better.
Love this
Timestamps?
The audio on this needs some work, have to crank volume super loud to hear anything - the background noise is LOUD
Complain about free instruction more
