This was filmed in July of last year. You can check the average temperatures in Hurghada in the month of July on Google, I have found it to be quite accurate. For me, it was very hot.
Since you’re in hurghada and you wanna eat seafood, go to the market area where the locals go. El balad I think the area is called, there’s a massive 3 story seafood restaurant there. Go explore and if you find it try it out. Unfortunately i forgot the name of it but it’s probably the biggest seafood restaurant there. Everything is fresh and delicious. Forget these touristy restaurants on the marina.
I already went to the restaurant you are talking about and made a video (as well as stopping by the fish market), I just haven't uploaded it yet. I film a lot in a day or two sometimes, but editing takes more time. The restaurant you are talking about is called Al Halaka, btw 😉But I'm exploring all parts of Hurghada, the fancy ass Marina included 😅😆
@@Gventures awesome! Have fun and if you have time left, go to el gouna for a couple of days. It’s worth seeing. It’s about 30 km from hurghada and there are busses that go back and forth 👍
@@MYT1FL I have actually been to El Gouna! It's a very expensive place though! Thankfully some friends paid for me and my boyfriend while we were there (friends live there), but I don't think I could foot the bill there alone. El Gouna is a bit out of my budget 😅 But I did have a good time while I was there
@@MYT1FL I'm not sure about Marsa Alam, I haven't been there yet. I definitely plan to visit there at some point, but not this time. I do have to work and I took time off for this little vacation. But I've heard great things about Marsa Alam!
Yes, despite staying in a hostel dorm and eating at some local spots, it is still expensive because of the temptation of foreign restaurants, cocktails and even the fact you need to pay for beaches 😅
I understand, tempations and thirsty when walking and the pretty places to sit and relax But a shame there are no public beaches for free inside the city At the end it cost a lot, even traveling on a budget
@yannick9473 You don't have to translate the currency for me I live in Cairo 🤣🤣(my home currency is USD anyway not GBP) And btw you can get A HELL OF A LOT MORE than what you just listed above for 400 EGP, if that is all you are getting for 400 EGP with a little leftover change then you are getting ripped off. 3 falafel should be around 30 (max), chips around 15 or 20, ice cream also 20 (if an ice cream bar at convenience shop, I don't often see ice cream at local restaurants), and a drink let's say 20 since we are at a restaurant, that comes to 90 EGP, I should have a ton of money leftover, could still go and buy several bottles of wine 😆 But if you watch my other videos you will already know, I rarely go to places like this, which is why I literally said in this video "Wow it's expensive, but I'm on vacation, treat yourself" 😉🌴
😅 Yeah it's usually a sufficient amount of food, I don't always need a heaping plate of food 😆Enjoy Cairo! I don't know if I will be back by then, enjoying the beach here in Hurghada. But thanks for watching!
Yes you can pay in EGP or with card, whatever you prefer. Because the prices are a bit high here (and anywhere else along the Marina) I preferred to pay to pay with my card here and save my cash for other places that do not accept card.
I actually am not going to be in Hurghada much longer so I don't have time to make a video about that. I also don't know who I would speak to or ask to find out about renting costs. But I can only imagine it is VERY expensive 😅

Great video, I really got a sense of the place. Those workers sometimes don't allow themselves to be filmed at security check points or entrances. But after you clear them it's OK to film.
Yeah he said "not allowed to film in the marina" in general, but I obviously decided to just ignore that. I get told fairly often not to film in Egypt but have discovered I can ignore this sometimes, depending on the area. The marina is a public space and a very touristic area, I thought it was stupid he told me I couldn't film, and there was nothing on the sign outside stating filming was not allowed.
@@Gventures I remember I was in Istanbul and some guys said no filming too in certain areas usually at the entrances. It happens all the time to foreigners but you handled it well. We have all been there

@@Gventures I went there some months ago, so the prices have might shot up a little since then, but beer was around 50-70 EGP (stella being the cheapest), alcopops for around 60-80 EGP, Khayaam wine bottle for around 250 EGP (they only serve Egyptian wine which I find hard to get down tbh). Hey gisselle i was wondering how much diving cost in Hurghada. I am going to egypt 12-01 Insallah. Will be my first time. And i wanna Go to Caïro if u can be my guide for a day. Ps. Love to drive a motercycle. Can I rent one in Caïro?
Hey there! Hmm, diving in Hurghada...there's a pretty wide range of prices, I think the cheapest I was offered was around $30 USD (that was in the summer). I heard from some people that I should pay more though if I want quality equipment and a knowledgeable instructor. I didn't end up going diving anyway, but that's the lowest price I was offered. Ahaha, me as a guide for the day?? I think I would suck at it. I actually tried it a few times and it was super exhausting 😅 And I only charged them like $50 a day which for me wasn't worth it 😆 But there are plenty of guides in Egypt that you can get for even lower price, and those guides actually know their history, so it's probably better anyway. Motorcycle rentals in Cairo! You sure you wanna drive here? 😆😅 I honestly don't know of any motorcycle rentals anyway, they seem very difficult to find (I know because I've tried in the past). I bought mine, but due to the lack of people wanting to rent a motorcycle here, there are virtually no shops to rent from. People that live here either own a bike, or the people visiting take taxis. I wish you luck in finding a motorcycle rental shop in Cairo. If you find one, please let me know, because people ask me this every once in a while and I never have an answer for them! If you don't end up finding one, the 2nd best option is to take Uber motorbike around the city. At least they have that 😁
I was in Hurghada in 1986, it was not even a village then. Just some big tents and places to eat simple meals. Very quiet. I do not recognize anything now and it is not very appealling to be honest.
Yeah a lot changes in just a few years, let alone in over 30 years. I am now hearing similar stories about Dahab, unfortunately. I can't imagine Hurghada in '86, but it sounds a lot more appealing to me as well! I much prefer local towns and villages to touristic, overpriced resort/hotel filled cities. It's why I enjoyed riding my motorcycle across Egypt so much, being able to stop anywhere I want and experience local life and meet every day people. Although I do and will always love Cairo, the crazy chaotic city that it is, and it's why I choose to live in Cairo and just travel around to other places within the country.
2:00 The Egyptians and arabs pay less the price than the tourists. Sometimes, if you have a friend/family member working at the beach, you get free access.
From the Egyptians I spoke to that live there, they don't get on those expensive tourist beaches for free, and they don't get food at the Marina cheaper either. They just don't eat there, period. Those are Egyptian friends I made in Hurghada. Arabs also pay a lot, what are you talking about man. Egyptians look at them like rich oil 5aleegy, they overcharge them in markets I've seen it 😅
@Gventures I've been to Hurghada not at the marina but at a private beach I had free access from the hotel but I still read the board. They have a board where there reads : tourists 150 / Egyptian, Arabs 100.
@@BeboBDaily If you're talking about different prices for Egyptians to get to the beach, sure. Did you know prices on menus are usually different in Arabic too? 🤣But Egyptians make a lot less than most foreigners. Entry prices to foreign sites are the same way in Egypt. India too. I thought you were talking about everything, not just beaches where it is clearly listed
@@Gventures True, I watched that one too, only after I posted the comment! :) Me and the kids have travel to Egypt a lot in the last years, I hate tours myself :) and I am considering buying a flat in Hurghada in the near future, so your videos are useful. @@anautismus Unfortunately I don't have any information on that, as I do not own any property here myself, so my knowledge on the topic is very limited. The fish doesn't look like British Fish and Chips lol, but the price is sadly too similar to London, Fish and Chips is expensive meal now in the UK. I love that they're playing George Michael at the end it seems lol!
Lol yeah I dunno, I've never been to England so I have nothing to compare it with. I did meet the owner though and he is British, he was a cool guy and I spoke with him for a while, even returned later for drinks. It was a nice meal, but yeah most things in Hurghada and everything on the Marina is extremely expensive compared to elsewhere in Egypt
@@jensuwe22 Yes I am aware, I made a different video about a local restaurant near the fish market in Hurghada serving seafood that was much cheaper and much tastier
@@jensuwe22 Yeah I was told. I think I would have liked the old fish market more, it sounded more interesting and lively. The way it was organized when I finished the new market did not appeal to me, and several locals I met agreed. Ah well.

Have fun, i love Hurghada, but indeed very expensive ,even for us from europe, but hey its holiday 😊
Yes, despite staying in a hostel dorm and eating at some local spots, it is still expensive because of the temptation of foreign restaurants, cocktails and even the fact you need to pay for beaches 😅
I understand, tempations and thirsty when walking and the pretty places to sit and relax
But a shame there are no public beaches for free inside the city
At the end it cost a lot, even traveling on a budget

@yannick9473 You don't have to translate the currency for me I live in Cairo 🤣🤣(my home currency is USD anyway not GBP) And btw you can get A HELL OF A LOT MORE than what you just listed above for 400 EGP, if that is all you are getting for 400 EGP with a little leftover change then you are getting ripped off. 3 falafel should be around 30 (max), chips around 15 or 20, ice cream also 20 (if an ice cream bar at convenience shop, I don't often see ice cream at local restaurants), and a drink let's say 20 since we are at a restaurant, that comes to 90 EGP, I should have a ton of money leftover, could still go and buy several bottles of wine 😆
But if you watch my other videos you will already know, I rarely go to places like this, which is why I literally said in this video "Wow it's expensive, but I'm on vacation, treat yourself" 😉🌴

Oh yeah, ages ago. I just went for a brief vacation, but I live in Cairo. So back in Cairo now
Great video, I really got a sense of the place.

Cheap, really? Can you tell me the price of a beer, glass of wine or cocktail?
