I always recommend that someone looking for Blitzkrieg Germans should buy the Pioniers box. It is only a few bucks more for the metal stuff and it seems to be a good value for the extras you get.
the Sturmpistole is the best. I always take it with my Pioneers. Always threatening to kill my friend's officer with it. hahaThe best is that you can use it every turn. Make sure you put the flamethrower in a squad with 3 or 4 potential casualties. The goliath is fun, but don't have high hopes for it making it the lynch pin to a plan. The flammenwagen looks fun.
A bundle of German M24 stick grenades. The M24 could be used in an improvised bundled style with another six explosive heads (without sticks) wired around a central stick grenade, that kept its handle. This was known as "Geballte Ladung" / "concentrated charge", they were more used as demo charges but could blow a track off an armoured vehicle... absolutely fitting for an engineer unit. Cool concept, btw!
Generally, only one in three men were issued the pionier backpack (or 2 to a five man fire team).... so there are enough backpacks for the whole platoon!
Well, Pioneers are the best unit a german Player could use for early war and you will need them for campaign and the eastern front (case blue and stalingrad)
Hey, thanks for watching! I love the gas mask guy. Wish they had more of that metal bit in the kit, but I'm glad I had at least one. Yeah, the Panzer IV is still a work in progress. Need to finish some fine details before shading. We'll get there in the end.
Fantastic army choice when you were new 🆕 👍 I’ve just started two years later. I’d like to know how you got on with this. They have the tools ⚒️ to do very well 👌 from a gamer of 30 years lol 😂
Sadly, I've yet to use them but that doesn't mean I won't. I'm working through my backlog of figures to paint and should get to these easily since really all I need is the German Uniform spray to get most of them started. Thanks for watching!
When in doubt add more flamethrowers. After getting my Panzerschrek and medium mortar for my Germans that is what I'll probably get for my Soviets is a couple of Dog mine teams and a flamethrower team (Assault Engineers). If you think the Panzerfaust is an up close and personal weapon then the Sturmpistol is a lets hug it out and get to know each other. as it only has a 6" range.. What about the GrB-39 grenade launcher? Didn't see any of them carrying it. Flamethrowers is always a team the weapons handler and an assistant, and if the handler dies then the assistant is also a casualty. The bundle grenade was either a fix position/ pillbox demolition charge, or an anti tank with it being tossed to the engine deck and hoping to destroy or damge the engine through the weak top deck grates and armor there. But yes there is a name for it and it escapes me for the moment.
Thanks for the info. After looking through the vid and the kit, and trying to clarify via Google Search, the PzB-39 (AT-Rilfe) keeps coming up. These have to be different from each other or Warlord made them "interchangeable" in terms of modelling...I don't see why they'd do that and they both look similar. Thoughts?
@@WarGamingNewbHistorical It says just like a flamethrower one guy is the weapons firer handler and another becomes a loader. I think I found it and what you thought was the AT rifle is the GrB-39 heroesandgenerals.fandom.com/wiki/Granatb%C3%BCchse-39. Neat thing is you got two rounds an AT one that does +3 Pen and a 24" range then a HE that uses the 1" template and a 6 to 24" range.
In that case, I don't have to worry about having a missing component. It's weird because the little build sheet stated it was a PzB-39, but the rest of the box indicates it's the GrB-39. I guess it's not out of the realm of possiblity that they misprinted the guide. I'll need to build a loader for it, easy enough since I still have the kit left. Thanks for clarifying.
@@WarGamingNewbHistorical That's because Bolt Action use a generic sheet for their nation builds and for all the other German kits that use this sprue it is the PzB-39. Hope that answers that question. Really all they do is just put up the Pioneer info on the Heer 1939/40 or Blitzkrieg ect ect paper.

I agree. Probably THE best approach to Blitzkrieg Germans.
The grenade was called "geballte ladung" which means "concentrated charge".
Thanks!

Thanks for the tips. Looking forward to fielding these!

Hey, thanks for clarifying that AND for watching! Good to know there's a name for it because I'd hate to call it "a bunch of stick grenades", lol.

Good to know! Thank you!
Thank you for this One!
Thanks for watching!
Solid tip for anyone who buys this kit. Buy some milliput and blue stuff to cast the metal bits.
Great tip! Thanks for sharing.

Definitely great for early war!
Nice build pioneer's. 👌 i like the gas mask guy looks like a ww1 with that bayonet rifle. The panzer 4 looks nice but needs a good shade.

Right, that makes sense.
