I looked at the map and there were a few things feeling like they were missing a button or link. The bathtub had a second switch under the map that you could shoot from the other side of the map. Feels like the tubs should have linked to that button. For the underwater area: There doesn't seem to be a way to send the piston back down except from up top. Second you can move the drill out of the way and then use it as a spud gun elevator... except the switch to move it out of the way is on top of the drill, needing to be moved before getting in the ocean. So it is quite easy to get stuck down below. Other than that there were quite a few switches tucked away leading to some hiding spots and a lot of cubbies for juking during tag.
Sorry everyone, I built this map but obviously didn't do enough testing and left out a few important switches. I just uploaded an updated version of the map that should fix the problems Kan and the gang ran into, let me know if any additional updates need to be made.
@@kizigamer6895 Opened up the top of the spud powered elevator, added a switch at the bottom for the piston elevator. Also added switches inside the main door of the spaceship and the bathtub hiding spot. Made the glass door smaller so you could get past it, and hid the end challenge switch better.
@NightVisionAV testing is so annoying and time-consuming, but it's great for your image to get it right the first time. The rest of the map is amazing. It's a beautifully designed theme

It's very quick paced once everyone is stuck on the bottom of the ocean.😉 But I've got to ask because the moment I saw it I felt it was just screaming it, but was the space ship area supposed to be reminiscent of "Perfect Dark"? Like that dark material angular layout is very similar to the Skedar levels in the game and the moment I saw it I was like, "Where's Elvis with his Farsight!?" If it was, you nailed the feel. If it wasn't, that's an awesome coincidence.
There needs to be a mod that counts the "tags" like laser tag and make it a free for all. And a mod that depletes spuds but auto refills after a short time.
@@tygerson13 Correction: Modding challenge mode is VERY difficult. Where most games have the mod API and a mod loader system now, the Challenge Mode keeps to the old ways. To mod it, you have to actually modify the game files, or as some would call it: hack it. Each of them would have to do the same mods, and hope they didn't break it. An easier solution would be a survival based tag mod that added a hud timer to mimic challenge mode, but then you don't have some of the critical features of Challenge mode.
@@Punchin83 only one person needs to mod the files. then they can compress the folder, send it to their friends for them to unpack in the proper place. this is how people mod games like SPT for escape from tarkov, to be multiplayer and make sure everyone has the same mods.
Just from my point of view, this is a really poorly designed map, most of the switches are the only switch, and either go with it (making it impossible to activate) or become inaccessible to the person who activated it (trapping them completely). It's a really cool idea, and there's some great stuff in here, like the indestructible block behind the nicer looking but destructible one, but it's not really well thought out and was executed poorly. I hope the designer improves because this is a cool map and there's a lot to these ideas.
An interesting concept to see would be a 2v1 freeze tag where the goal of the 2 players is to try and find the ‘end challenge’ switch within a certain timeframe.
Update for you here kAN, there's a v2 now with the notification that some missing switches were added. Not sure whether the piston there malfunctioned in your earlier version, but there is a button now clear as day on the stone structure right next to it. So, you were confused for legitimate reasons. You were missing a few things that have now been fixed. So, maybe good for another MM as vindication run.
hey kan, question. could you maybe do an interview of a scrap mechanic developer and ask him questions about scrap mechanic and what they plan in the future and stuff like that?
The piston elevator with the switch on jt was probably an oversight. Should have been a button or at least on the side of the elevator so it could be shot from the bottom
You should do scuffed map hide and seek, the maps should say in the description joker hide and seek and they should have random area's that aren't in the slightest related to what the map is and trap you in those areas
I'm not sure if they seriously missed the reference of the bottom layer being the oil itself, but they seemed pretty serious about the alien basement of mystery

I just pulled that map into edit mode and confirmed. That switch is the only way to drop the elevator, and it goes up with it. Poor map design.
Simple oversight as a result for lack or poor map testing

This was also one of the MOST fun maps I've seen. All the surprises and unexpected "Hi there!" were great!
May have been confusing but it was an excellent map which made for an excellent video :D Hope people make some more random maps like this!
I read the title as “Either way we’re dumb…” and honestly it works just as well.

Even if it was a bit scuffed, this was my favorite hide and seek map! I loved the verticality and you just kept discovering more and more weird stuff!

The creator of the map seems to not be that smart. Why would the switch for the piston be on the top of the piston platform itself? Makes no sense.

he saw kan go upstairs into the hallway and it is pretty easy to walk through it and quickly find what room someone is in
