Perfect video for me and my roommates who are newbie fish keepers; we set up a new tank with a piece of driftwood, plants, gravel, and sand for a couple of weeks (no fish since none of us would be home), and came back to our tank filled in the stuff. That, and some surprise bladdersnails were feasting on it. Without this, I don’t know what we would’ve done to get rid of the algae. Thank you for the helpful information!

Started my tank in December and some of this appeared on my right driftwood but not too much, have otos, snails and shrimps so I am sure they will take care of it.
I started a new tank this time with some previously used driftwood and boom all this white stuff. Should I remove the wood and should I try to clean my sponge filter bc it’s covered in it?

I had no idea about white alage, I only knew about red green and brown algae. Anyways my fishes got fungal infection and were dying, nothing seems to work . As a last resort I used hydrogen peroxide and I noticed that my tank is looking much cleaner . I never bothered about algae as I never had algal bloom or out of control but this time it seems extra clean . I am considering to keep on using hydrogen peroxide in low doses for long time .

Hi, my aquarium is full of this "algae" and the water became really cloudy I think because of it. I tried cleaning them off the plants but I can't take clean them off without ripping the leaves or damaging them.
Why do they call it green algae when it can turn your aquarium into a jungle? 😅 WOW, I didn't know some algae could grow so fast and take over the tank like that!

I just cleaned my tank which only has Platy and Molly fish and had a white sac floating around. It worried me at first but this helped alot!

I get white slime in my tanks so bad it kills the lives plants, clogs the filters & smells bad.

Cory are great, same night I dropped them in all was cleared except a small hard to reach patch.. I took it as good eats and left it to reproduce
