We need this to happen. Even if it is an April Fools video.
Facts
At my first ever competition, I got a one-handed single of 14.09 in the first round, and during the finals, I got 14.29 and 13.05. This was all completely unexpected because I average around 20-21 seconds at home, and considering that I was nervous, who knows how I got three sub-15's.
Ben give me a shotout I've been subbed for a while
Love your videos! You got me into cubing and i love that. The cubing community is so nice and i never thought i would be able to solve a rubik’s cube. Thanks J Perm!

Practice is about consistency. Skill builds with time, practice keeps the skill close to the surface. But if you’re not careful, all that practice can give you a false expectation that you are owed good performance. Relaxation practice is the most important practice in my book.
Hi J Perm,
Really love all your uploads! I really appreciate all of your technique vids as I have had a really fast improvement, I started cubing earlier this year and now I am sub-20, thanks to you. Loving the videos, keep it up!
hehe geometry dash logo hehe
Same, I started learning cfop with his tutorials 4 months ago and my pb is now 16 seconds!
Holy fk how are yall improving so fast, it takes me forever to even memorize algorithms
I avg 20 too
The way Kevin Matthews record his solves is very original (morely the fact he uses a bit cube to keep his phone in place when he solves)
Jperm please make more videos we miss you
I thought I never be able to solve cube like others but after watching your videos I learnt to solve cube in 32 seconds ,thank you so much
Hey Dylan! I was on the organizing team, nice to see you enjoyed the comp even though it ended up being a weird one.
Hope to see you at more UBC comps!
Taking breaks is very important for developement. I played piano at a relatively high level for years, all of this makes perfect sense! It also helps with mental health, and can help steal back some of that passion from the jaws of "work".
Two months is admittedly a bit steep, try taking more intentional and regular breaks for a week or two a few times throughout the year, two months sounds like burn out, and boy should nobody blame you for that. But you'll get better results from your break (and YES, this IS a thing) and contend less with burn out if you break for shorter periods but more frequently.
Love ya dude, sick times!
Hi Dylan, I just want to thank you for all your tutorial videos. I'm relatively new, I only started learning in June. I finally got the courage to go to my first competition last weekend and although I was nervous and kept messing up my solves, I managed to get a 27s single, which i was happy with because sub-30 single was my aim for the competition.
Hi guys,I just want to say huge thanks for making this videos from the past, because of u I improved so much these year, thank you!have a great day j perm and the people who is reading this comment!🎉❤😊
man we miss you come back tf
Dylan I love ur videos so much! Keep it up
love the comp vlogs!
your practicing theory also applies to me on basketball, before i used to play a lot before a game, and i do kinda bad just scoring a few points, but a few weeks ago it was the day before tryouts ad I did not play because it was raining, I ended up scoring 30 points in scrimmage games in tryouts and got in the team, i thought it was a fluke but it actually kinda make sense now since I just got sub 40 single in 4x4 doing sessions when I didn't cube yesterday
That emoji thing looks like the orbs in that speed of light game thingy. That’s the first thing I though of; I don’t know if you know what I mean. I don’t know why I am writing this. Just saying.
Hey J Perm,
I really like all of your videos and have started to really get into cubing and I was wondering if you could do a review of the MoYu RS3 M Super because I was thinking about getting it

I love this channel. Keep making good videos.
No matter what the video is about, a JPerm upload always makes me happy!!!!!!
Im going to be honest, I'm not really great at cubing, a year ago I averaged like one minute, but because of you, I now average like 21 seconds wich is an improvement I'd say. I now watch tutorial videos from you and my goal is averaging sub 20 seconds at the end of the year. This is just a thank you :)
I'm sure you'll get there! Keep practicing, you're close!

You are the best cubing channel ever! First, I watched this random tutorial. Then I saw J Perm and I instantly watched beginner CFOP and now I average 26 seconds on 3x3.
Dude your one of my biggest inspirations.
Huge fan of yours!

Love your vids (a lot)
I know this comment comes a bit late, but I wanna share what I learnt from being a professional pianist, which relates to cubing in terms of developing technique, muscular memory, and then the knoledge, the looking ahead, and the understanding of the instrument as in many ocassions you need to play in a different instrument from the one you practice daily for hours.
I've learn that expectations and the pressure you feel to perform well are but detriments. I've also experience going to an event under prepared, not having practice as much as I usually did, and the results were just great. After going through it a lot of times and going through a big depression that kept me from practicing altogether, I discover that when we practice so much, we create the expectation of getting better results, and that shield us from doing what we best do. Stress and expectations play a weird effect in the body, and prevent us from flowing naturally and putting 100% of our training to use.
The story goes long but to sum up, the moment I was able to make my brain think that I was going to the events to enjoy myself, the moment I understood that no matter how much I train, there's a lot of minuscule factors that scape my control and will have an impact in my performance, and that I should just see it as "let's see in which way this performance is unique and what can I learn from it", [...], that was the moment I reached peak performance in my career, even when my technique wasn't as good as before my depression, I was doing better in all fields.
Maybe this comment helps someone.
Thanks for taking your time to write this. Gives me a whole new perspective on competitive things i do. 👍

Dear jperm. My heartiest thnks to you, cause for you, today my average is 30. You are the first youtuber who inspired me to keep on going. For you cubing has won a great part in my heart. Thank you very much.
Mani Reasonof Comment (MRC) : You reviewed the Moyu RS3M 2020. But, won't you interview your own cube, The JPERM RS3M 2020.
I want to buy it cause I have full trust in you. Biut still, a review of the cube will be better and it will even clarify and specify the advanteges and best sides of the cube.
Thank you again jperm . Keep on the good job, just remember that your supporters are always supporting you.
Can you do a throwback video about best 3x3 speed cubes each year since 2016?
Thank you you taught me how to solve the Rubik’s cube for the first time and know I’m sub 30 hope you start posting soon.

one last thing for everyone if you love something do it and practice it but if you love it, that doesn't mean everyone has to love it I know that forcing someone to love something is one of the worst things to do to someone! thanks for reading
Hey J-Perm thanks for all the vids! Been enjoying these a lot and month ago bought the cube to pass the time at work. Now i can solve the basic cube (not the speed obe) some how but only couple timed ones so that made me wonder what would be decent time to solve the basic cube?
I like watching your videos while playing with cubes.
Dude where are you?
thank you jperm i just recently achieved my first sub ten and it was in a comp i've been cubing since i saw your how to solve a rubiks cube video in October 2020 and your video was so clear and helpful, also your website was a massive help learning cfop
yea i learned cfop from there only i can only do beginner pll and oll
That’s a good website
So I'm posting this here because, as your most recent video, it seems to me you'll be more likely to see this comment. It's like the UA-cam logarithm but in reverse!
Basically I just wanted to say thank you. You have really established a quality channel, you're fun to watch, and you display a level of humility and joy that is rare. On my part -- a month ago, my two-yr-old son brought me a toy store cube that my wife had bought him and begged me to solve it. I had no idea. First I found the 'Wired' tutorial for the beginner method. First solve was 20+ minutes. Then I found your channel. All your stuff bro... so helpful. Now, after a month, I still have three algs left to memorize for 2-look OLL (PI, L and U), my F2L still needs so much work, but I just got a PB of 48' and my ao5 under 1 minute.
It's a season of extra intentional thankfulness, you know, and I just wanted to genuinely say thank you for sharing your passion, making it welcoming and so so so fun to watch, and again for your humility. May PB's abound!
im a bit late to the video to comment, but will you be reviewing the super rs3m soon? love your vids jperm, and congrats on 1 mil :D
cant wait for the next milestone B)
i think jperm will get 2m subs before he uploads again😀
Please come backk
I always enjoy your videos. I’m old, slow, and just getting into cubing but it’s been a huge stress reliever. Keep up the good work! So many things to learn. Its like going to the University of JPERM 😂

Finally sub 10! Thank u, Dylan! I've been watching your video since I'm sub 25, which is about a year ago. I'd never dreamed that I can be a sub 10 cuber when I first started cubing. Thank u for making this happen!

Day one of asking jperm to make another video
I LOVE YOUR VIDS
We've all been waiting for that.
I wanna see a competition where it's just peak performance
So here's the rules:
1. You get either 1 or 5 different scrambles
2. You have a team of 2 or more people (1 to do the speed cubing and 1-2 to find the most efficient way to solve the scrambles)
3. They'll be given like 5 hours to find the most efficient way to solve the scrambles and then at the end every team will take turns solving the cube
It'll be like FMC but fast so it'll be wicked fast
This is the best idea ever
I actually want to see that happen
Question: what are you planning and when's your next video? Your content is just too good for me to wait! Also, remember to practice. It's so easy to get rusty.
PS: I will beat you in smash bros.

JPerm, when should I learn the 1 step oll and plls? My average is about 35 seconds my best is 30 with the beginner CFOP method.
It’s a good day when j perm uploads
Dylan do you live in vancouver I live near there
Hello J Perm, I was wondering if the orientation of the cube mattered when trying to scramble for using your trainer.
scramble with white on top and green on the front
Hello Jperm how do you think I can learn OLL algorithms easily and G perms in PLL? Mainly because I learn and then I forget the algorithm in solves. I use the Gan 11 M Pro and now I average 27 seconds. Also Love your vids and can’t wait for more content
Amazing content , really love your videos
I have an ipad and some of your videos do not show on my ipad , so i have to watch it on a pc
Hello J Perm! I know I'm late to commenting on this video, but I just wanted to say that I am a 14 year old cuber trying to get faster, and I first learned how to solve it from your 3x3 beginner tutorial. I'm not constantly watching your videos to improve you have been a huge inspiration to me. I currently average around 32 seconds on 3x3, which I know isn't good at all, but I'm working on it! I just swapped from beginner tutorial+f2L to the full cfop method (2-look oll, 2-look pll) but I have confidence that I will continue to improve, and am hoping to one day meet you irl at a competition or something. I know chances are that you won't ever see this but if you somehow see this then I want to thank you for all the help your videos has given me :)
I hope he sees this.

Hey congratulations! Could you pls tell me how you are averaging sub 10 now? Cause I'm stuck at 11s and it's so annoying i wanna get sub 10 so bad
@@atharvgulati6425 i have a sub-10 pb avg
But im not sub-10 yet..
But i can tell u that look-ahead is rly important if u wanna avg sub-10, nearly all my pause less solves are sub-10
So my strategy is to inspect as much as i can during inspection time and try my best not to pause after finishing the cross and during f2l
And turning as fast as i can during oll and pll

Do you think you can let me know if you have any videos or if you can make a video about going from a beginner method to advanced, I’ve seen a lot of your videos but I don’t really understand what those things mean like pll, oll, all that stuff. The video I watched to learn how to solve a cube was by Wired and my pb is like 1 minute 30 seconds so I wanna try and learn an advanced method.
This vid is hilarious. I just went to my first comp. It was so much fun.

Can you do oll setup from a j perm? I am very excited if it comes out (which is unlikely). Also great video!
not really that feasible
Which OLL would you be setting up to?
It also would be very inefficient - the amount of setup moves you would probably have to learn would probably equal the length of the normal OLL alg.
