Lovely start to Advent.Thank you. We had a late Thanksgiving here I the US Thursday so it doesn’t leave much time between holidays. We fit in my hubby’s birthday celebration and visit from the grandkids and now it’s Dec 1 and I am scrambling to transfer my house from autumn to a winter wonderland. Your channel is so lovely! We are in Scotland but my brother is married to a Finnish girl and they and their two girls live in Southern Finland :-) We have visited many times over summers but never at Christmas and it is something who hope to do in the next few years! My children have the benefit of Scottish and Finnish (and Swedish!) christmas traditions so its a busy month!

We put up our tree last Thursday (US Thanksgiving), but nothing else got done towards Advent prep, and went to a movie yesterday & worked on a Musselburgh for my hubby. But after today's visit with you, I got out the Christmas votives and the fancy enameled brass Advent wreath we purchased our first Christmas together 51 years ago. Its a start!! I don't bake much anymore, but did make some "Christmas Crack" for a party tonight...toffee poured over saltines & baked 5 minutes, then topped with chocolate chips which melt into a layer & then chopped nuts on top, or peppermints or whatever you like. So Christmas is coming to my house, too. Seeing you badger house always gets me in the mood!
Try Christmas Crack using Cheez-Its instead of saltines. Cheez-Its come in a large size now, almost as big as a saltine. It's a great combination, but I don't think a peppermint topping would be good.

I’m having such a hard time finding any Christmas spirit this year: between an upcoming ( minor) surgery and someone stealing all the money from my bank account account before I can pay bills or finish getting gifts for my granddaughters has almost crushed me. But I’m not sharing this to complain, but to tell you how happy watching your vlogmas has made me. The colors and traditions and gnomes (!) have made me smile. So many have things worse than me, and your vlog just make me so happy! Maybe the sun will come out in our respective countries; I’m in NW Ohio- not much snow but lots of gray sunless days. I do forget the story of the tomte, but I hope they come out and do many nice things for you. Thank you.

Aw, so sweet that Sophia was so excited about the advent , it’s wonderful the kids still get excited. This year is the first year we don’t have a believer which is sad😪. Once my kids stopped I had to come up with something to get them excited so did things like switch tags on all their gifts so they couldn’t figure out what the gifts were. I did a bunch of other tricks that left them wondering what would happen the next year. It also helped me get in the spirit. The market looked like a very fun time for all of you and finding the lady who made the recycled gnomes was amazing great find. I’d have been tempted to get several, there was a couple that looked like girls🥰. I’m sure the kids will not be sorry t miss the big event because they will be so excited over your new family member arriving. ❤️. I hope you have a lovely week ahead and can get some rest. Have you ever heard of spool knitting? My Grandmother started me knitting by taking a bigger wooden spool from thread and placed 4 little nails in a square on the top. With a crochet hook I would wrap the yarn around all the nails and bring the bottom loop up over the yarn and then pull down on the yarn tail and repeat. It basically made a long string of icord which I then sewed in a spiral to make a pot holder for my Mom. I was thinking it might be a good thing for Sophia to be able to make something. I bought one at a fabric store/craft store for my granddaughter years ago that looked like a red mushroom with white dots on it. 🙋🏼♀️
