-What are my goals? 5-10 years where do you see you? Which company you want to work? Evaluate?
- Who is your role model? Try to find their path, then research for good mentors.
- Try to find mentor in your network as they know you!
- Asking them? Communicate them on what aspect you like about them and what you want to learn from them?
- Goals, commitments, what are you expecting? Discuss this at that start so the conversation later would be smooth!
- Being a good mentee: a) meet regularly and consistently. Discuss early itself about how many times you would want to meet with you le mentor in a week and how much time? Block your time on calendar for that time. b) set an agenda before the call and send it to mentor. c) takes notes during the call. d) feedback - take it positively! e) don’t think it as personal therapy session! Don’t just complain and complain! Discuss a problem and try to take an advice.
