Hi Dr Tasha - I'm a new listener to your program. I've just had a mastectomy last month. I'm terribly disappointed that i ended with mastectomy based on MRI. Biopsy result showed the specimen consists of 4 cores of tissue measuring 0.9 cm to 1.6 cm. The MRI result was "...core measures approximately 24 (CC) x 23 (L-R) x 20 (AP) mm. The spiculations, which are seen as areas of faint non-mass enhancement, together with the mass, cover an area that measures approximately 56 mm (CC) x 23 (L-R) x 40 (Se 815/61, 815/68). The spiculations extend approximately 1 cm superior and approximately 28 mm inferior to the central core." Then the shocking truth: the post op lab result showed the size of the invasive tumor is 13 mm in maximum dimension. The whole size of the tumor (Invasive & DCIS) is 26 mm in maximum dimension. I could have gone for lumpectomy!
I had Tnbc and my oncologist said chemo works very well on this type of cancer ..I got chemo first and thankfully it zapped the 2 tumours completely and sentinel node biopsy at my mastectomy showed CPR x
Hello, your videos are helpful as always. Can you make a video on Papillary carcinoma of the Breast? It's so rare that hard to find videos on it. Just got diagnosed with Invasive Papillary Carcinoma, no lymphnode, 28mm, clear margin. Will this need chemo? Other sources say it's rare to get chemo. How common for IPC to reocurr?
Have you come across Dr Louise Newson & the menopause related stuff Davina McCall does? They both have HUGE online followings & they are both encouraging women to take HRT. They underplay the risks. Is there any way you could spread the word about the risk of HRT? I was on HRT for a year, inspired by Davina & Dr Louise Newson before being referred to the breast clinic, and now I await biopsy results. I think they are putting women at risk by underplaying the link between HRT & breast cancer.

@@princeahmed5795I am sorry to hear that and I hope you’re doing much better now. My 38yr old sister has recently been diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer (invasive carcinoma), grade 2-3 and 2.8cm in size. The oncologist has suggested chemo and surgery. We are all in shock and devastated I can imagine how difficult it must have been for you and your family and I hope everyone is doing very well now. I was just wondering and I’d greatly appreciate your time if you could share your experience and journey as we barely understand what’s going on.
Dear Dr Tasha, Today I've been given the distressing breast cancer diagnosis and feel totally lost.
