Hey Justin I think this is a great list, thanks. Also Squishy I love you man. I have been watching you forever and your positivity is something more influential people could learn from. I am Life Coach and I feel it's my duty to encourage everyone to listen to what Squishy has to say and apply it to all areas of you life, not just Rocket League. Some of the things he is sharing can really make the difference in living the life you want to! Some of the important ideas I noted down are: 1. Positive Mindset: Don't get frustrated, it's an excuse and it's giving up. If you decide to use that time to learn rather than give up, you will only be better off for it in the long term. 2. Decide what you want: This is also a law of attraction type idea because if you can decide what you want it's easier find out how to get there. You can't get to where you want to go if you don't know where you are going. Think about where you want to go and identify the beneficial steps you can take along the way. Also, one of the best feelings in life is to be really good at something. Decide what you want to be good at, think about the vision for you life! The more you thoughts, feelings and actions you spend focusing on your life vision, the closer you are to getting there and finding new steps to get there. 3. How to not get bored/Growth mindset: There is always something new for you to learn. Try out new mechanics, do random things, test your limits, raise your ceiling and don't be afraid to make mistakes. The more you reach around in a dark room, the more you will discover where the walls are. 4. Dealing with toxic players: This one can also relate to all distractions in life, if it's not helpful, tune it out and focus on where you want to go. Focus on what's helpful for you. Be nice to people, you don't like it when people are toxic towards you so be understanding and compassionate that others feel the same way. Treat others the way you would like to be treated. 5. Break out of a slump: Take a break and come back when you have new interest and a fresh mindset. Mindfulness can also help with this. Take the time and forget about the negative feelings that are holding you back. When you let go of those feelings, you free yourself up to experience the good feelings and the interest and the accomplishment and being at your best. Notice the difference between when you are negative and positive. Hope someone finds this helpful and re-listen to what Squishy has to say, hes a master :)

Turn your dodge deadzone up. Mines at .70 I believe. The higher the deadzone the more you have to push the stick to get a flip. So you can still be holding back a little bit and still get the double jump if that makes sense

Bugging him about advertising himself for support in the beginning of his videos is crazy, your watching free content and it’s not like you can’t press skip ahead. Your a consistent creator and that’s why you are successful man, keep grinding. Not even just in RL just in life overall. This work shows through all walks of life and people should take notes. Squishy this video is awesome!!! Ive been a huge fan since way back in the day, so hearing you talk so thankfully really teared me up. I can't believe how down to earth you are. I hope you are able to get another RLCS title, you defenitly have it in you! Also I cant believe you play my training pack, when i saw that my heart started racing like crazy!
@@BrianFreemand Here is a quick video i made for the pack when i created it. It is a little embarrasing since the video quality and the ways i scored are not that great. But you can find the code for the pack in the video description. ua-cam.com/video/M_RZPPg8x2Y/v-deo.html Alternatively you can find it on 4th place in the browse list since it is the 4th most downloaded training pack worldide.:) Hope that helped.
Man this is honestly some of the best stuff I've heard come out of youtuber's mouth in ages. Absolutely loved it. Very humble for a dude that I once watched hit 4 wild aerial shots in a row that I am years away from hitting. Then go eh that was kinda bad. Also this vid definitely earned my sub regardless of the video
To not move when i boost an keep that speed and even turning with that super speed i constantly thought i needed too use boost to get up to that speed but thank you for telling me i could turn slightly and keep the speed that’s such a good tip for mannnnyyy players would make them a lot faster i already thought i was fast but no thank you squishy you’ve defo helped me maintain that speed for a prolonged amount of time
i just wanna say thank you squishy. i’ve been playing this game since about last spring and i’ve been stuck in gold, almost plat. i was starting to give up on ranking up but seeing your perspective on the game and hearing your advice about just having fun with it and keeping the game fresh really helped out. you really changed my whole perspective on everything. eventually i wanna be able to reach champ or even gc, but i know i gotta take it one step at a time and not get frustrated with myself. thanks for the advice man
just a little update for anyone who finds this and may see themselves in the same situation, after almost 2k hours and 2 years of straight grinding on the game, i’ve been able to reach champ and still climbing. i first got champ 1 in 2s near the end of season 3 after being stuck in plat for the previous season, blowing straight through diamond and was able to get my rewards as well. however season 4 saw more of a plateau in my ranks, staying consistently in low C1 in 2s and moving back and forth from D2 to D3- and occasionally C1 in 3s. at times it would get very frustrating and caused me to lose a bit of motivation to keep going. this current season though has seen a bit of light at the end of the tunnel, hitting C2 for the first time and still pushing through the divisions. i have no doubt in my mind that i will be able to reach GC by the end of 2022 if i keep my focus on improving my weak areas and analyzing my gameplay to find my mistakes and doing my best to correct bad habits. if you find yourself reading this and you have your mind set on reaching the higher ranks- DONT GIVE UP!! you never know how close you may be to a breakthrough. we all gotta start somewhere but if you don’t have the mentality of self improvement, and only care about the symbol on the screen then you won’t get far. RL is most definitely one of the toughest grinds in the video game world, having no other game besides sarp to translate your mechanics and game sense from, but everyone has the potential to reach whatever rank they want, just take it one day at a time, practice your fundamentals, and really take time to set your muscle memory in and eventually you WILL start to see results. if you took the time to read all of this you’re a real one, and i appreciate you letting me share my ongoing journey with you, best of luck and KEEP IT PUSHING. i might check back in here next year with another update, who knows, but again thank you for taking the time to read this as it means a lot to me, and i hope to see you on the pitch with me someday
This is literally the best life advice video just blur out "rocket league" and hear "life". Take your mind out of rocket league and imagine he's talking about life as a game. The most useful advice you will ever hear this man is speaking from his soul love you Mariano 💯🧡
"I've played 10,000 hours. I'll play 10,000 more if that is what it takes to win RLCS agian" this is why i will always be a fan of squishy and cloud 9 all together.
Shravan Dheep Well G2 is in second place😂😂 but tbh NRG with squishy and Justin and Garrett look pretty nuts so far. I guess you could call me a squishy fanboy can’t even lie
2 weeks ago I was stuck in C1 feeling permaslumped. Today I reached my all-time goal of reaching GC. Thank you for posting this video, I can’t explain how much it changed my mindset and gameplay.
Watched this video while playing some 2's and the tips on mindset were helpful. I've realized that I would get too frustrated whenever I throw a match, and so far I just brush off the mistake and continue playing, which helps me come back from a goal deficit. Right now I'm trying to get back to champ 3 so best of luck to me!
Honestly it’s so crazy to see how far you’ve come. I’ve been subbed to you since 28k subs (back when you’d give us a nice juicy smooch) and it’s nuts to see almost 1m. You’ve made me want to continue to play rocket league and progress. Watching you at worlds was absolutely sick (even though Newark New Jersey was a total shit hole) and one day I hope I can compete with you on that kind of level. You deserve everything you get, and you stay mad humble. Much respect. Keep on being nutty. I’ll always love watching your content!
@@aaronpacheco3553 Wrong-O! I have poor white parents. Thanks for trying to invalidate my opinion because of some preconcieved notion you had of me. To be honest, I've never even been to that one place. My actual point was that just because one place is worse than the other, that doesn't mean the better one isn't still bad.
I watched the entire thing bro. I love learning from you, its so straightforward and inspirational and accurate. I love your content ive been subscribed from the beginning, and i hope you do make it to 1 million soon you deserve it. Thanks for being there for us squishy we appreciate you.
I watched the entire thing, and honestly I already feel like I’m improving in my gameplay. I’m Plat II and the games already feel easier just because of my boost management
Work on car control bro, get in free play just boom the ball around and you'll improve your speed too, it's really gonna get you to diamond pretty quick
Reevy exactly what I did and went from P1 - D2 within a month or two. Now onto increasing my game sense (which is getting WAY better) and working with various tm8s.
The pros who play this game are the least toxic and actually care about trying to support the people who look up to them. I started this game about two weeks ago found squishy and watch all of his videos but I'm one of the few who play mouse and keyboard lol. And it's still helpful watching people play. Thank you squishy for supporting the lowbies
Cool story about Squishy. Back when I played competitively, he was my favorite player (still is) and one day I was streaming on twitch with about 10 viewers and Squishy hosted me. I was so hyped, and I talked him into 1v1ing me on my stream. So we played a few games, and I got some new viewers. That same season (3) I ended up making top 100 in 1s and 2s.
25:50 About the stick sensitivity settings, this is actually very underated. I used to play on 1.40 on steering and 1.5 on aerial. Sitting hard stuck in plat 2. Out of curiosity I switched to 1 on steering and 1.25 on aerial. I fired up the dribble 2 challenge; Previously I got stuck at around level 8-10 depending on how long i spent, after changing I can consistently get to level 19. With the aerial, i feel so much more comfortable and im so consistent with my touches in the air. I changed 1 week ago (before watching the video) and I'm now Diamond 3. It turns out all i needed was that bit more consistency in my gameplay. Don't sleep on this tip 3 month edit: Now GC1. Great video
doesn't matter. If you win or lose that game it doesnt even matter. If you lose a couple games and rank down, you're now gonna be playing in lower ranks, and are more likely to win.
I get frustrated at myself and sometimes get tilted. But not to the point where I lose sight of what I did wrong. Sometimes my mechanics are a little behind, sometimes it’s just me not flowing through and instead brake too much or maybe it actually isn’t my fault what happened. I think it’s important to understand when it’s actually your fault and when you rotated well or you positioned well and sometimes it’s just unfortunate. I am falling in love with this game right now, I’ve dedicated the last 5 months to improving putting in enough hours per day to make my hands tired. Training is like a drug to me, I do it, see my improvements, and get a high from it. It’s beautiful. Rocket League is beautiful.
coni345 you’ve definitely got the right mindset :) I recommend studying Kobe Bryant. The mamba mentality is the greatest thing I ever learned. It’s basically what squishy started to talk about in the mindset portion of the video, even if he doesn’t realize he was talking about the mamba mentality
Would love to see more such long videos from you. Im just training in rocket league, listening to you and boom an hour is over. Its fantastic and you are so chill it makes me play smoother just by listening to you xD
Squishy : "the best toxicity is to not talk and just win" Me : I cannot win Also me : *Still gets bullied by toxic players because they still win against me
It dawned on me watching so many of your vids that aside from the mechanics, most in the lower ranks aren’t even positioned to try these shots and saves in game. I’m G3 and started getting consistent in the packs only to realize this is why I can’t pull off some of it in game. Thanks Squishy!!!
Watched it 'til the end, great video... your tips goes far wider than just rocket league tbh... it applies to life achievements and goals as well ... thanks for it, ur kind :)
I really like how he expresses that fact that mentality is a big concept because it is. Not just for yourself but for the team as well because you can only have one person that has a bad mindset it spreads through out the team and eventually leading to the teams defeat. In my opinion a persons mindset is way more important than learning certain machines.
I feel like being able to shoot fast and accurately is one of the biggest thing to improve to climb the ranks. I was c1 to low c2 last week and thought I was good with all that. My shots were fast and mostly accurate. Then I suddenly became a god at banging the ball. I mean no awkward wall clear that ends up hitting the ceiling and being a pass to the opponents, no more decent shots on goal but the goalie predicted and saved it, no more weak passes that gets read and intercepted, but instead, clears that go all the way to the other side of the field while barely grazes against the ceiling and have to get saved awkardly on the other side, shots so fast that even if the goalie was waiting for it, if he didn't prejump he has no chance to save it, and passes so fast and on point, that my teammates just have to continue driving forward to score. Obviously I'm exaggerating a bit, but it still feels that way compared to what I was able to do before. And it got me to that low c2 to a very comfortable c3 getting ready to get gc. So don't think you're already good enough and that you can't improve on that, or that it wouldn't matter. It really really does.
Just started trying to get good at rocket league and love your attitude and play style ... watched all the way to the end (we’ll listened to the end I switched halfway to free play rocket league and listened) 😂 something about watching you fly through the air makes me want to play so bad. Keep up the good work homie
Crazy motivation bro!! Living basically the same area as you and coming from PS4 makes you the most relatable player I’ve seen which makes me push up my rank to be like you. Goat status 💯
I'd love to see people do videos like this more. I enjoy you talking about your mentality more than any rl content videos, this video is loaded with stuff to learn and you can enjoy listening to it while playing in training or eating lunch. Its like a rl podcast with optional visuals. the length is nice too. I hope others feel the same way
On a more positive note about the toxicity I literally played against the nicest guy in ranked 1v1 last night, we were literally having a conversation between each goal and I thought that was pretty awesome, super dope guy, but on another note you've inspired me to continue to practice new things and stick with it, hands down my favorite player.
I watched the whole video and I definitely took a lot from it. I remember this one time when I was not playing good at all but my team8 msged me after the = game and talked about how we all have bad days. The rocket league community isn't that bad, and I love how some people understand
Watched the whole thing man, advice was exactly what I feel like I needed to hear man. Hope to see another video like this one in the future... you the 🐐
i started playing the game in early 2017, when i turned 13. since then, i've always played in a notebook, that cant really run the game properly, but i never gave up. even tho i didnt had a really routine playing it, i got c2 this year, in my 16th birthday, i had like 900 hours in that time. i dont even know why im wirting this lmao, it may sirves as inspiration for someone!
I used to play on a notebook too.. on 30 fps, played 500h on keyboard until I switched to a scuffed ps3 controller till I got a ps4 one, then I met Kraziks (maybe you have seen him playing against squishy in a video), he coached me since I was a silver and I ended up c1 with that weak laptop... Now I run the game at 80/90 fps and can stream, I'm c2/3 now
Man if I stuck to my 20 fps pc Id be gc but after my first ten hours playing I quit without a rank. Started again with 250fps last october and now a c1
last season i went from gold 2 to champion 2, but this season i am stuck in diamond 2. what you have shared in this video has given me true hope for getting back up to champ 2 or even higher. what a great video man!
You definitely have the best(or just my favorite) game flow out of anyone I have watched, I noticed that early on and decided you’re the guy I was going to look at for rl content

i just wanna say thank you squishy. i’ve been playing this game since about last spring and i’ve been stuck in gold, almost plat. i was starting to give up on ranking up but seeing your perspective on the game and hearing your advice about just having fun with it and keeping the game fresh really helped out. you really changed my whole perspective on everything. eventually i wanna be able to reach champ or even gc, but i know i gotta take it one step at a time and not get frustrated with myself. thanks for the advice man
just a little update for anyone who finds this and may see themselves in the same situation, after almost 2k hours and 2 years of straight grinding on the game, i’ve been able to reach champ and still climbing. i first got champ 1 in 2s near the end of season 3 after being stuck in plat for the previous season, blowing straight through diamond and was able to get my rewards as well. however season 4 saw more of a plateau in my ranks, staying consistently in low C1 in 2s and moving back and forth from D2 to D3- and occasionally C1 in 3s. at times it would get very frustrating and caused me to lose a bit of motivation to keep going. this current season though has seen a bit of light at the end of the tunnel, hitting C2 for the first time and still pushing through the divisions. i have no doubt in my mind that i will be able to reach GC by the end of 2022 if i keep my focus on improving my weak areas and analyzing my gameplay to find my mistakes and doing my best to correct bad habits. if you find yourself reading this and you have your mind set on reaching the higher ranks- DONT GIVE UP!! you never know how close you may be to a breakthrough. we all gotta start somewhere but if you don’t have the mentality of self improvement, and only care about the symbol on the screen then you won’t get far.

Squishy: “Don’t get mad at your teammates”
Half the time my teammates type something and whiff
doesn't matter. If you win or lose that game it doesnt even matter. If you lose a couple games and rank down, you're now gonna be playing in lower ranks, and are more likely to win.
its actually crazy to think that squishies played atleast 6 hours a day for 5 years straight. Dedication
I mean it is his job
When he said he started when he was 14 and me being 14 now gives me hope

I really like how he expresses that fact that mentality is a big concept because it is. Not just for yourself but for the team as well because you can only have one person that has a bad mindset it spreads through out the team and eventually leading to the teams defeat.
