    Hi Ursula, I'm glad your home and garden are safe after the storm. It's been raining and humid for days in Georgia. It's not doing me any favors because nothing is drying out. The dampness encourages the snail brigade, mosquitos, and plant disease. I hope the critters have had enough of your garden and will go somewhere else quickly.

      Hey Jamerica, thanks. OMG, I saw your video where you were picking them and that white bucket almost half full of snails, I couldn't believe how many was in your yard. I was the one who said watch out for snakes while your reaching under branches to get them. They have migrated from TX to LA, next they will be is MS. Growing collards in the fall sounds like a plan, I will try to start some as well. Thanks, enjoy your evening.

    So glad your safe we were just watching the news about Texas and Lafayette 🙏 be safe Ms Ursula. Fantastic news about everything coming along and no damage to the trees. Even though it’s been extremely dry here we are being decimated by slugs 😢but that’s nature. They took our most of my tomatoes 🍅, looks like small snails as slugs normally eat the entire leaf. Have a calm weekend, Ali 🌞🇨🇦

    • @harveycontainergardener332
      @harveycontainergardener332  11 днів тому

      Hey Ali, thanks. Oh, no, not the tomatoes, they could have bothered something else but that. Your right, that is nature but we don't have to like it. It's crazy how we go from flooding rains to bone dry in a matter of days and that's when the pest come out to feast. SMH. I hope you can save some or drop more seeds, we need the tomatoes. Enjoy your week.

    Hi Ursula! These pests are so disrespectful.
    I make this solution with chopped fresh garlic and a couple of teaspoons of eucalyptus oil and water. I store it in my refrigerator until I'm ready to use it. I use a funnel and a strainer to put into a water spray bottle, and I spray everything 😂
    My potatoes were covered with large mesh bags with the drawstring.
    I'm with you! I want another crop cage.😊
    You and I will be busy this weekend planting out the last of everything.
    Happy gardening 😊

    I ordered some really cute butter cups on Etsy. They grow wild in some areas and people don’t like them, but they’re really great for the pollinators so I ordered me a small package because I want to grow them. I also roll wildflower Sun burst Cosmos.& and those wildflowers precede they make their own seeds so once you plan them, you’ll you’ll have them all the time

    Them overwintered peppers look great you can do up to four years. I had a banana pepper that was so massive like 5 foot high.
    And was giving me abundance of peppers big long ones and I was like to put those I like to put peppers in my beans 🫘

    Don't get overwhelmed friend, you'll get it all done. Do you use diatomaceous earth? It may help with all those worms. I would cut the plants back some then dust them. I hear people say they use snail bait for the snails. This time of year can be tough. 😐😐

    • @harveycontainergardener332
      @harveycontainergardener332  11 днів тому +1

      Hey @ReasonsWhy5, thanks, I needed that cause seeing all my work get destroyed can be annoying. I have some neem oil and peppermint castile soap, I will mix some and spray the plants, hopefully the peppermint smell and neem oil will deter them. Really tough time but I need to stay positive. Thanks again, enjoy your evening.

    I did manage to get some guys to build me some raised beds out of metal and wood out of industrial roofing that I had sitting in my backyard. Finally got some young guys to cut it and put it into race beds. That guy said them busy the last 25 years, but the wood is on there too, so maybe that I don’t know we’ll seedid a great job. They made too big ones real high and all the trees went down yesterday and the disaster. I’ll fill them up with trees before I put the soil on whatever whatever else I got.

    Yes, my tomato seedlings looked real poor looking until I put them in their bigger pots and forever homes and now they just sprouted out. I need to go buy some tomato cages for them or some type of cage for them or even some steaks tomato steaks I think they sell them at Home Depot not the bamboo ones but the hard plastic ones, so I can just put those on that it’ll be Sunday

  • @deltorres2100
    @deltorres2100 14 днів тому

    So we had to move containers around for them guys to make the Reyes beds so if you move those containers, you’ll find a snails on the bottom sleeping so when you go to sleep, they come out at night and eat up on them leaves so move those containers just just to see the creatures on the bottom. There’s always those little snails on the bottom we found a whole bunch.
