I feel like most C level players already know the ghost ball method and use something similar intuitively, yet they miss shots all the time. And it's because like you said, they can't "cue straight". Although that term is misleading, because what I think is really happening is that many players can't actually see where their cue is pointing to begin with. i.e. their initial cue direction is not the same as their head direction and they are shooting across the ball slightly to the left or right even _before_ they start their backstroke. As such it's not really a cue action problem, but a vision problem. If the cue tip is not perpendicular to the cue ball, then this can create the optical illusion that the tip is exactly in the center of the white even when it's not. What kind of eye pattern or sighting techniques can a player use to address this? I feel like good players fail to recognise how much of an issue this is for bad players, since good players may simply not have ever had this sighting issue.

That is a fantastic question and I'll be honest I do struggle with vision center as well which as a result sometimes (if I am not careful) I cue across the cue ball. When I refer to "cue straight" of course I am making the assumption the players vision center is right and they can actually address the cue ball in the center AND the cue is on the line of aim.
There are methods you can use to help work out your vision center which is a good idea for a future video.
      Thanks and great question.
Also, don't assume good players have never had this problem, trust me, most have. The difference is that good players have spent time on their craft and worked through these types of technical issues.
I personally have spent a ridiculous amount of time on this issue for myself, and every now and again I still suffer, especially when my table time drops off.

@@PoolSharkCoaching Is where the cue is pointing to do with vision center? I thought vision center was more about how the cue ball and object ball are aligned.

@@dhirajpallin2572 many players don’t drop the cue on to the line of aim due to incorrect vision center/sighting. When they are off line they end up striking across the line (subconsciously) of aim in an attempt to find the line. I’ve experienced this myself. Very frustrating.
