Looking to purchase the rhino retro cue. Hoping to see a review video on the cue! Definitely looking forward to checking out a review on their newer cues. Definitely got a new subscriber. Enjoyed the video!
Great video! I played with a Rhino shaft. My teammate in my pool league has one and it's a great shaft for the money. The $300 JFlowers and Rhino are my value picks for cues. Looking for the perfect cue is the biggest waste of time I ever spent in pool. I've seen guys run 9 ball racks with house cues before. Years ago when there were no such thing as carbon fiber, someone challenged another player for big money. The other had no stick, so he used a house cue and whipped the other player badly. Ran a 9 ball rack as well with a house cue. Earl Strickland ran tons of racks and won muliple championships with the cheap $100 Cuetec. Efren Reyes ran tons of racks with a $20 cue long before carbon was even a thought.
Couldn’t agree more. I own a thousand dollar predator and I can shoot just as good with my 150 dollar Nick Varner cue I bought as my first playing cue at my local billiard store.
@@jacobpressley4449 - Nick Varner cues. Wow, blast from the past. Like the old Jimmy Rempe cues by Meucci. I still have an old Palmer cue. I shoot ok with as well, but the shaft is now warped.
How to get this carbon fiber cue and how much is it includes shipping fees to Singapore. Am e six footer ,what length do you recommend? Thanks, hv a good day
@@lawrencecheng1471 I'm not sure about shipping but since it's coming out of Vietnam I'm thinking the wait won't be long. I live in Canada and my wait was 5 days. Don't worry about length. The shaft will be almost 30". If that stuff interests you please watch this video... ua-cam.com/video/uAMKr1mhg_w/v-deo.html I'd look into a Retro Series cue from Rhino but the choice is of course yours👌👍
In my opinion, i would think that the reason for the pro-taper on a breaker would be because of the use of the closed bridge and if you have a firm grip with the bridge hand the shaft wouldn't have to forcefully expand the opening since the shaft is the same diameter for about 16 inches or so allowing for more of a smooth stroke, especially when shooting without a glove and sweaty hands
Yeah that certainly is an argument for a protaper on any cue...breaker or playing cue. The whole protaper vs conical taper was an interesting discussion in the video. I really do think it'll come down to personal preference with the feel. But one things for sure...the tip had to go! 😂
Great review! I'm still not 100% on the Crystal tip and had it changed to Caiden Fighter S. Changed the break tip to Kamui SAI. Please keep us posted on your journey with the Komet. Thanks for a thorough and thoughtful review. 👍🏽
Thanks and absolutely! 👍If you're an experienced player certainly the Crystal tip will not satisfy your tastes. However I've played with worse. Beginners won't have to worry in changing it immediately. It gets the job done...unlike the Komet tip on the break cue.
Hi my friend from Canada, this is the best kind of reviews anyone could give to the audience! I play a Cuetec Cinergy Ghost Edition cue with the original Cinergy shaft and bought myself a sub shaft - a Rhino in 12.2mm. I ordered the shaft as a semi custom with 29.5 inches and a fitting collar diameter of 21.35mm for my Cinergy cue. All this took under 2 weeks and cost me only 224$. It plays exactly how you described it. The Cinergy is a bit of a higher quality in case of the filling. The Hit of the rhino is similar to a revo. Exact tinky hit. I'm thinking about ordering a 2nd one in 12.5mm. And yes, the F1 tip is ok, not more not less. But you can order any shaft from Rhino without a tip. So you can safe money and get the tip of your choice by yourself. I was thinking about the break shaft for my Mett DI breaker. But your review makes me thinking about it twice. But, I will see. God job Bro and Greetz from Germany, Thomas
Hey Thomas my friend in Germany. Thanks man! Rhino certainly likes to give options. I didn't know you could order a shaft without a tip...thats news to me. Interesting. It's all about feel isn't it. Whatever floats ones boat I guess😉👍
I bought my buddy a rhino break stick and it's great cue. I really like it, it's really great for the money and feels good. Freaking the but is odd but works for breaking.
That's awesome. I'm still using the Komet to break myself. It's better than any break cue I've owned before but I think there's definately room to learn and grow for Rhino with their Breaker. One thing I do know is that the people over there at Rhino are hungry and are wanting to continuously improve. I see big things for this company.
@HereAfterBilliards my phone is acting up, comments not going through. Asked another question, do you have a Rhino/Amazon affiliate? Free shipping with prime but still want to support.
I honestly don't know if I would. I've never played with that shaft. In my experience there's a bunch of low deflection CF shafts out there that are low deflection and then there's a few that are next level but you're paying out of a deep pocket to purchase one. Unless the Lucasi is super old or you just want to try carbon fiber and the benefits it's provides such as ease of cleaning...I'd pass. Just my opinion but I will say that Rhino is a disrupter. I see big things in their future. I'm about to shoot a review video for their new Retro cue...its fantastic.
awesome analysis and break down of the current billiard economic climate and how we need to be more opened minded. This company has a clear mission / vision. thanks as always
The eclipse looks nice but I prefer the grip on the Nebula because leather wraps will need to be replaced at some point., their Komet break cue is really nice for the price and added some weight to it and have it where I like it. (Haven't weighed it yet)
Recently bought the Rhino Retro Pale Moon Ebony Wrapless. The shaft sounds hollow - its seems as though it hasn't been filled with foam. Is this normal for Rhino shafts? Has anyone had a similar issue?
No that's not normal. I will say that there is a slightly different sound coming off the new Retro Series as the tip has been changed to a different propriatary tip called the "Time Crystal Tip". It's not your usual pig skin leather layered tip so this might be contributing to the sound you're hearing. I have a Retro Cue and it sounds fine...a little duller but again... That's the tip
Depends on what he wants. He doesn't presently have a cue? Has he ever shot with a carbon fiber low deflection shaft? Does he have a preference as to shaft diameter? The nice thing about Rhino is they have options. If he doesn't have an opinion on such things then scoop up one for him. Go with a 12.5mm as it's a popular diameter and guess at his favorite color scheme if it's a surprise. It's a really good value for the price.
I don’t believe he’s ever used a carbon fiber shaft. I’m relatively new to pool so a lot stuff tends to go over my head honestly 😂. He does a have few basic cues now. However I want to get something a lil more different this year for Father’s Day/his bday. So I figured this might be a good route for him. I loved the review btw & the mini road trip!
@@TechBaseGaming Well then this will classify as a little different then. The Rhino shaft will have less squirt (deflection) than what he's probably playing with and it'll depend on him how long it takes him to get acustomed to it. If he's a guy that loves side spin there's a little bit of a learning curve. The price point for the Eclipse sounds right for your situation. It'll be an awesome gift.

Cheers brother. Thanks for retipping the Komet and offering your thoughts on the tip and protaper...I hope Rhino takes the criticism positively and perhaps will offer a different configuration for players in the future to choose what they like.
That's a great question. JFlowers right now has a better selection of overlay Cues in their Next Generation line...just slightly more expensive than Rhino's Eclipse. That ofcourse is with the classic shaft. They play roughly the same I would say if the JFlowers has a classic shaft on the butt. The Moori Medium tip that comes with the JFlowers Classic shaft isn't as good as the Rhino Crystal tip...but it's close. Right now where JFlowers has Rhino beat is their SMO shaft which is amazing and I'd say their Breaker offers a little more power. That being said I'm using the Rhino Komet Breaker right now with the Bulletproof tip and I'm loving it. I've been chatting with Rhino behind the scenes and they've stated that new products and innovations are coming soon. I look forward to what they come up with. 👍
