John Deere sst16 sst18 steering problems

With this particular John Deere it didn't want to steer at all in reverse while turning left. last year it would occasionally work but this year it quit working completely. I found that there was a pinched wire from the steering plate located directly under housing where the seat mounts. I you're having a similar probkem it could be the micro switches which I explained briefly in the video. To test turn the ignition to the on position but do not start a mower and push the pedal for forward or reverse, you should hear the clicking of the of the diaphragm solenoid which allows engine vacuum to enter the diaphragm and pull it in. There is a forward diaphragm and a reverse. I started moving my wires around that runs to the to the diaphragms and I noticed clicking sound, I knew at this point I had a short. My problem ended up being a cut that was almost completely through one of the wires that runs through the wire loom. he'll be able to see this in the video. hopefully this will help if you're having the same issue with your sst16 or sst18
