Actually after watching Matrix's video on this event, I was eagerly waiting for Alpha's view.
For the first time after watching Matrix's video it seams Matrix's himself is not sure whether Alpha is technically right or wrong.

Archer NG is based on Rustom 1. If Tapas's weight can be reduced further, it can endure 30 hrs. with present fuel-load. DRDO should study Predator closely and try to replicate it's configuration including power-plant.

While I'm glad that manufacturing capabilities are coming to private sector companies, being self reliant with indigenous designs is also important to achieve complete autonomy. Strong military powers tend to do that with wartime situations in mind, be it Israel, US, France, Russia or China you just name it!
Zero manufacturing capability… All IP & important components are directly imported. It will be better if we directly buy it from original company & avoid middleman.

But, you'd still require a dedicated production line, build connections with local LRU manufacturers concerning the percentage of indigenisation, and at least master the know-hows. Even if doesn't stand anywhere close to what I'd like to call self-reliance, it's really good to see some private firm lining up for trivial deals that would otherwise go to psu(s) and disrupt important projects.

We can take it like this :- this 6 drone is not such a deal which will derail our indigenous program but this will give more time for drdo to work on archer and ultimately fill the requirements with archer ng. Also drdo should work with private companies rather than working solo and wasting time and money again like rustom project. Hope archer projects bring good news and erase the bad name drdo has been facing due to rustom.

Anything when it is in its development stages, takes time. Other countries started way earlier. But i don't get the negative undertone in most of the videos. This is a very patriarchal thing engraved deep in our culture,
to point out criticisms, maybe the content creator has gone through similar experiences so for him this is how life works in his understanding.
This stuff is not even high tech. Thus, the "taking time" explanation does not work.
Compare this to the advancements of China which is trying (and succeeding) at building its semiconductor fabrication abilities from scratch despite harsh sanctions imposed by the entire world. They are literally closing the gap on the US at the cutting edge of semiconductor fabrication.
If one said DRDO was taking time to do the above, it might be understandable.
Yet DRDO is failing at a task that is mostly integration of off the shelf components that smaller countries have successfully executed well over a decade ago.
Development of high end military technologies cannot be in the hands of DRDO.

Mass production should start only after getting clearance from all concerned.
Indigenous production of fighter jets and drones should be encouraged by giving concessions on imports subsidised electricity making available buildings on subsidised prices etc.
The end result will be saving precious foreign exchange by way of importing military equipments.
We need to concentrate on our indigenous ghatak ucav & archer ng attack drone & tapas drone , these type of assembling of foreign weapons in India (just like south korea,turkey & pakisthan had done assembling foreign weapons & fighter jets & called them indigenous assets)will not help India in terms of war like emergency situation if supplier suddenly stop supply chain,thank God Indian defence forces had inducted indigenous loitering munitions

Subodh Ji...Jai Hind...Bharat Mata ki Jai....could you kindly shed some light on why do all these testing in India take anywhere between 2-5, or more in case of relatively complex systems....assault rifles take 2-3 years, drones take 2-5 years, howitzers take 3-5 years, tanks take 4-8 years...why is everything so perennially in testing phase or in many cases eternally in 'testing-reworking-modifying' cycle
