A driech day, as we say in Scotland. Definitely one for staying warm and dry inside and enjoying the trip. Even on a miserable day like this was, Delft looks a fine town. I particularly liked the magnificent building, the Villa Vrijenban, which we see at the Nieuwe Palntage stop (3.20). Some merchant was really showing of his wealth! I looks like it has been repurposed into some kind of Meeting Centre. I hope the current owners have preserved as much as possible of the interior, which I imagine was just as decorative as the outside.

@@spooruitbreidingennederland Het is eigenlijk niet te geloven. Duidelijk een item voor programma's als 'Geld over de balk' of 'Kanniewaarzijn' maar helaas zijn die er niet meer. Hoeveel geld zou hiermee gemoeid zijn?

That means the windmill *building* is about 7 stories tall, and the top of the blades considerably higher. This collaborates my case about wind energy: that there's nothing wrong with the wind - it's the terrible engineering from current manufacturers. Specifically, that they insist on a gigantic scale implementation just to make them competition-proof from non-heavy industry competitors (e.g., Carrier, Ruud, and all the 3-phase converter manufacturers). The Dutch (and some in New Endland) were doing RELIABLE wind power over 200 years ago.
Your'all's outdoor winter weather gear is pretty interesting. Do you get some sort of warmth from the Atlantic Ocean or somehow? Your Winter, to me, looks like Florida in the Wintertime up north or far southern Georgia in the States. California got 50 feet of snow this past Winter. Does the Winter weather ever stick in your Town here in your videos?
Yes they do. Anything from manual, like @12:00, spring loaded, or by motor. If by motor, it varies how it is controlled. Sometimes by signallers in a central location, by radio from the driver or button operated. Some systems have a short section of overhead wire just prior to the switch, where if the driver draws traction current, the switch will toggle.
