The hills by the education center would be a great spot for the university. There’s plenty of room, and it won’t feel out of place since it’s near other schools. Plus, there’s enough space to add some student housing, too.
17:38 I'm pretty sure the way to make your fences stay one color is Asset Variation Changer, it lets you cycle through asset colors and decorations using your arrow keys. Though still unfortunately if you connect a fence to the middle of a different fence with snapping to geometry on it does split that fence into two different colors, so I just turn snapping to geometry off when I want to do that.
Oh you know....I swear I had that mod at some point, not sure why I removed it. But good call, I'll add that back to my playlist. Once I feel comfortable downloading mods and PDX has figured out the Traffic debacle haha
Looks so good! I would just add a tram stop between the Arts District and last stop (where the major commercial avenue/intersection is), right outside the other tunnel entrance.
Was waiting for this episode. The bridge over Barlow Street looks really nice! Can't wait to see, what you plan on doing with the University. As somebody from a city with tons of Universities, who all look different I'm really excited about what you have in mind.
@@skilzthatkilz11 I'm from Berlin. We have a shit ton of Universities but three major public ones, who all look differently and all give different vibes. Humboldt University is basically one big ass building placed in the Heart of Berlin. Technical University Berlin is also located in the mid-west of Berlin but rather than one big building it's a bit more stretched out across a couple of streets. And lastly Freie University Berlin, which is basically a whole district in itself, with residential areas mixed in between. Like it's along a subway line (U3) and basically 4 stations long. It has it's own charme, because it has a lot of parks and café's and small neighborhoods between the different university buildings.
Oh that's awesome! Got a buddy who just moved to Mainz....which I'm now seeing is nowhere near Berlin haha. But cool, I'll definitely check out those universities!
@@skilzthatkilz11 Mainz is a great University city too. As far as I know it has the biggest campus in all of Europe. A lot of my friends went to University there haha
Thanks for the video, dude. It was a nice watch as usual On a sidenote, though, that neighborhood is too close to the city center for it to realistic be so low level and so spaced out. Houses there would be close to one another and some high and medium density residential buildings would still be around
You read my mind, next I need to work on the transitions from high to low density. But yeah I should probably make even the low density housing tighter
Thanks, awesome episode, nice detailing :) the video quality was kinda low though, sorta blurry, and there was no option for better quality, and I’m just watching on an iPad.
@ it just said no video quality options available when I hit the drop down, I even went to another video to see if it was me but it was just your vid - I’ve never seen that before with your vids, it’s usually high quality. Appreciate the work you’re putting in to these!
The most unrealistic thing is that a city like that should really have a population of 5 mill at least. Good one CO. Also I would expect a lot more development on the other sides of the rivers.
Ooh I've got plans for across the river! That's where I'm going to build the "New City" and the current development will collectively be known as the "Old City". But....I really want to wait for custom assets to come out before building the new downtown haha
How I deal with fences in my city: Currently, even with mods, there is no way to control the color variation of fences, only props. While creating fence, I'll draw out a desired portion of fence. Then, I'll extend a few meters past that point and check the color. If it doesn't match, I'll disconnect, draw it out alone adjacent to the end point on open ground. Then, reconnect and draw out a few more meters while checking the color. I repeat this process until it matches the desired color and once the fence is complete, I'll go back and delete the short stubs that don't match. It is a little fussy, but worth the effort to get uniform colorways. Edit: Yes, please use the No Dead Trees mod. I use it in my city without any problems.
You should consider trying to change the climate in the map editor (( they finally fixed it ), It's weird how there's coconut trees and it's so cold in October.
I thought about that...but I was wondering if that was necessary with the tram line going there. The bus part of the central station isn't that big (only two pickup spots), so I think first I'll need to add another lane. There's room between the current bus lane and the road for another
@@skilzthatkilz11 idk its just like your city looks a lot more new york-esk the palms don't really fit it I can see your city being set around Maryland because I live around coastal Maryland but your city would have to be some where way more tropical and hotter to support all those palms..
@@TrentonsUniverse Omg now that you've pointed that out, I can't unsee it haha. I started this whole series thinking if could be Floridian or Californian, but I've totally built it like a New York or Northeast city, you're so right. Welp, hmm, now I need to think about the foliage more haha

Good idea! Lord knows we need a university by this point, if my education demand bar has anything to say about it.
Absolutely love this city, great work!
Thank you!!

That's so kind of you, thank you!

the industry moguls mansion would be great for a like a private cliffside estate build, almost Tony Stark-esque
I can't wait for someone to make an actual Tony Stark mansion custom asset, once the importer is working
you have a beautiful city😆

The way to get your hangaround areas to work is to plop down a park near by and drag the hang around area of the park to your desired area.
whoa TIL, thanks!

Can you update a map on a pre-existing city and it'll...just work?
Shouldn't the bus line have a stop in the central bus hub station ?

Let's build some cool new towns, in real life
hey, I noticed the map has a lot of colours, how do you get it?
Probably the Lumina mod, I set contrast and saturation to around 40
Why there's a tower crane for 2 X 2 zoning construction ??? This game should be more realistic about that
