Fly Fishing Texas Flats for Redfish | DIY Saltwater Fishing trip
Вставка
- Опубліковано 1 бер 2021
- Back in November, I made it down to the Texas Coast for a DIY saltwater trip with my buddy, Bryant. We spent 3 days exploring the area in search of Redfish. With a mix of unpredicted weather conditions, we were in for quite the weekend. Saltwater fishing is a completely new beast for me but I learned a ton on this trip. Hope you enjoy it!

Rooster fish in Baja.
Alaska
Belize for Bonefish, permit, and Tarpon
What brand of boat were u on and size of motor
More salt, please.
Roger that
Ben even showed up.
Someone make this crossover episode happen plz.
I’ve yet to see a fly fishing channel with such good editing and footage. This channel is superior in so many ways.
These guys are such an inspiration for me!
Jensens
This channel made me buy a fly fishing rod. Put my buddy onto your channel and now I have a fly fishing partner. Planning our first trip right now. Thanks fellas
Texas red fishing is on another level
Hey fellas I'm not big on saltwater but I enjoy seeing people having a good time fishing. Yall are killing it. Nice video. 😀😀😀👍👍.
Thanks Jim!
If yall are ever interested, I would love to have yall on the boat chasing reds in Texas! Love your videos. Awesome job!
Your channel is the only reason I got into fly fishing. Great video like always
Another great video! Well done Scottie.
Going to be hitting the Texas coast in April so good to see this content and a salt water newbie connecting. Hope I get my changes too.
Great to see you all in my stompin’ grounds. There’s something magical about that area. Hope to see you all back this spring/summer.
This is what I am talking about man! One of the coolest ways to fish.
all about the salt vids. keep up the great content
Nice Hog Island!
Nice trip. My wife and I have been combining whitewater, camping and fishing on our rafting trips. Doesn't get much better then that.
Loving the story telling of your videos. Great content yet again.
great to see you guys out there! I did the same thing. You struggle a bit, then it all starts to come together! I'll be down there this Winter. Great video!
Sweet video as usual.
That stach tho 👀. BTW great video! Love the 4K and the editing is something I strive for
You and I both! I get good 4K from my aerial shots. But it's not always easy to lug around a good camera when fly fishing high in the mountains haha!
Hype to see this. Love the videos man. 🤙🏼
Redfish, the best saltwater game + fly rod
Awesome show!!!
That looks like so much fun! Pretty sure I’m going to look at a guide trip when I’m in Florida later this year.
Been a saltwater guy for a long time and found you guys while trying to learn more about the fishing rivers. Love seeing your adventures where ever you decide to go. Great work! I BTW Louisiana is a must if you continue to chase the reds.
We really enjoy your work......Keep going on the diy saltwater videos.......as for myself and my boys we will keep practicing on Idaho carp until we meet Texas Red
Dude I loved the saltwater video! So so much respect for the work you put into these artpieces🤙🏼 Keep it going!
They always inspire me to create even better content of my own!
Great video. Spring winds will drive where you fly fish if it’s even possible but the day when the wind dies is the day the fly fishing person lives for.
Great work. Love the vids
Nother great video! Just getting my feet wet in the salt myself. Took a page from you and Adam and decided to start trying my hand closer to home. I have the ocean but picked up a raft and have been trying to target bay bass in the harbor down the street. No luck yet but stoked on the new challenge. Keep it up mang, your inspiring old dogs like myself to get out there and give it a go! Thanks again!
Dude, that makes me so happy to hear that! Keep exploring and chasing new water. Cheers!
Enjoyed it! Would definitely love to see more saltwater.
Man you make some great videos! I’ve gotta say though that there is some great drum fishing here in NC. Chasing spanish mackerel and false albacore in open water during the fall is another popular fly fishing trip as well. Cant wait for your next video!
Sweet Vid boys! Come back to Texas soon
Corpus wind is no joke, it's especially bad this time of year. You guys were in a good area for high wind days but sometimes it's just not enough. At least y'all got into a couple fish, always enjoy your videos! Keep up the great content man!
Love the videos guys! I’d love to see some fishing videos around the DFW area. Keep up the good work. Best fishing channel on UA-cam
Awesome video as always
Welcome to texas come fish some rivers here or channels keep posting videos
New subber here...I just started researching fly fishing and stumbled on your channel. Hands down best fly fishing content I've come across so far.
Headed to Port-A next weekend. Kayaks. Mostly bait fish and regular rod/reel - but after seeing this (and some others) gonna take the fly rod and give it a go. Mostly bay (is the plan) saving jetty and channel for windier days. I like this approach.
Great video man! I'm just getting started with the UA-cam game and I always watch your channel for inspiration. I live in Corpus Christi, so this video was especially entertaining for me. I hooked up to my first redfish on the fly with Alvin Dedeaux last fall. I'm hooked for life!
Glad to see you in my home waters. In the area you were in most of the fish tend to be in the lakes. It sounded like you were headed to the other popular flats area. It does produce but in November its hard to reach most of it.
Any recommendations for me and my dad to try in Galveston area? We may rent kayaks and explore some. Also open to any salt species.
Texas red fish are addictive!
Loved the video, last summer I went fly fishing for tarpon. Sadly I didn’t catch any but man is it a different type of fly fishing than I’m used to in Montana.
It’s a totally new ball game. I love it.
Epic y'all ⚡⚡⚡⚡
I'm def a trout guy... but I really enjoyed watching you guys target the salt. I'd take more of those mixed in with the trout content. Good stuff, Scotty!
You and I both... but yes it is super cool to see these guys change the game up a little bit!
it so funny growing up id been fishing since i was 8 years old....with different method of catching fish..I missed those days....Here in the US my children did not experience at all on how to to fish for food....
Love it!
Thanks for the many hours of editing/filming brotha. Roll Neers
Roll Neers baby!
Yes more salt water missions please!!!🔥🔥🔥
We’ve got a bunch filmed already! In the works…
The stache is on point
Hope we can get you one the skiff one day Scottie!! Love the video, story, everything!
I would pay to see that video
Banger like always
Good fishing video
Such a shit day, glad you posted

this is fire
Also you should come to south padre island if you ever get the chance
nice hunting nice video congratulations👍
Since you are from North Carolina, check out the false albacore spring and fall, Crazy!! you will really be hooked
Your retention rate is what 90%? Just incredible work as always. Serious question though. How long do you spend editing for a video like this? Appreciate all you do and good luck getting to 100K man. Can't wait to see you do it. Well deserved!
Thanks brother! Editing can take anywhere from 20-30 hours on videos like this. Takes a while to wrestle with the story sometimes. Makes hitting export that much sweeter😅
Nice DYI trip, u should team up with Red Fish master JT
woot woot this content is so underrated
So true! I am always inspired by this channel for my own videos!
Florida Keys trip!!!
My favorite yet! Go to islmorada for bonefish!
More salt would be rad🤘🔥
Just subbed. Great video. You should get down to Tampa for that salt.
I've heard the saltwater fishing is excellent down there... I've always wanted to get down and make a video or two!
Another great video! What type of flys where you using? Always great to see the fish slayer flys
Liked this video
Salt or Fresh water. It's all fly fishing and showing both will grow your audience. I think most fly fishers are interested in everything from bluegills and bass to trout and salmon and tarpons and permit and the list just goes and goes. Keep it up. It comes down to telling a good story.
saltwater is super rad. any way you could do a walkthrough of bryant's rig? great video, as always
"It's pretty windy today."
Every Texas coastal fisherman: Welcome to the Texas Coast!
Every single day….
still wayyyyy too underrated
So true! These guys always inspire me for my own videos.
lower Laguna madre so port Mansfield, south padre island, arroyo city
Spent many days on the beaches in San Diego sight fishing Corbina ( The Ghost ) , hands down a tuff fish to land , check them out
Great video! What make of boat is that?
You should come to New Mexico
He seemed really shaky while casting... was the wind that strong?? Great vid and fish !
Wish I had known!!! I would have run you boys all over the coast. Chasing reds is definitely my thing.
what camera do you guys use ? So clear
What part of the TX coast is this? Great video btw!
Were yall fishing near Aransas? Rockport? Port OConner?
Did you guys find that the stripping bucket was helpful?
What brand of boat is that? Looks perfect for what you guys did. Great video! Keep up the good work.
Looks like a hog island skiff to me
How do you not have 100,000 subs yet ?
Great vids man, I think you should check out “haul” casting. You may know it already but I don’t think I saw any of it. Check out Lefty Kreh or Flip Pallot.
You have inspired me to get back into fly fishing my man; I used to fish the SC & NC streams when I lived in Greenville SC in high school and tied my own flies. Times are really hard and it’ll be a while before I can afford it but man you have truly inspired me.
As far as your next adventure; I’d say either LA or if you can make it happen the Keys.
Keep up the great work man.
Little side note, my dad was born in Boone haha the Knowles family
🙌🏼🤙🏼
We’re yoyu in rockport or ap because that looks mad familiar😂 edit nvm that’s rockport you were like 3 mins from my house😂
Next time you’re in Texas hit me up. I’d love to put you on some fish
Cool video, throw away that basket it's just annoying. I'm moving back to the Texas coast and am excited to catch some Reds.
So dude picked you up at the airport with the boat but didn’t go fishing? Excited much???!!
What rod wt did you use?
A few casting lessons would be beneficial
What type of boat is that?
What boat is this?
go to florida and chase some tarpon or snook
I have been wanting to say go to Texas for redfish on every video but I didn't want to be that guy.
Post the gear (NOT camera) that youre using!
