I’m very glad you’re doing your dwarf tomatoes project this year. Can you please tell me how often do you water the 5 gallon pots. I’m going to try some dwarf tomatoes on my balcony this year and I want to know. Greetings from Crete Greece 😊
Tomatoes grown closer than about 10' must be isolated. There are 2 methods. 1. watching the blossoms that don't bloom at the same time as the plant next to it 2. Bag the blossom that you want to save seed from. I am doing a video this spring about that
I've never grown a tomato plant in a 5gal bucket. I have grown tomatoes in big pots, but I drilled a few holes for drainage. I moved the pot one day and huge roots were deep into the ground. After that, the tomato plant didn't thrive. In a bucket, does it get root rot? Have you grown Green Zebra before?
The project did well in 5 gallon buckets. I grew green zebra many years ago. It is an indeterminate so might not do well in 5 gallon buckets but it is a great tomato.
If you move your buckets and the roots are cut , you have to cut the plant back so that the roots/leafs are in balance , do not move the buckets and then put them into direct sunlight , leave them in the shade for a few hours , then move them further
Awesome project!
I have plenty of growing space for plants, but I would enjoy growing a few dwarf tomato plants next year.
Looking forward to this project. I've been wanting to try to grow one of these because my Dad used to like the dwarft tomatoes.

I water them every day. When it really (in the 90's) I may even water them twice
@@Growyourheirlooms Thank you 😊. I really look forward for your next dwarf tomatoes video!!!
How do you keep the tomatoes from cross pollinating with that many varieties all next to each other?
