      @@angusmf I mean kinda. It’s buried in my home shop right now. I’m starting to brew up some plans at home to get it running again, but I don’t even have time to get my c4 build done right now. I want it to live as bad as you guys do though

    The om606 seems to be underrated in the US, here in Scandinavia its one of the most popular old diesels to tune. Love the builds you guys are doing!

      It's just not very common stateside. I don't know all that much about the OM606, but the Cummins 6BT, especially the 24 valve, has a cult following here that would be similar.

      There are very few diesel cars here, so this engine and any of it's successors is very uncommon. Unfortunately that makes it expensive to build here too

      @@PlayinWithMahWii The Cummins is less than a conventional swap being 1100lbs, half a foot longer than the om606 which is already pretty long. Even a 4bt cummins is an 800lb engine! Om606 rocking some 475lbs which is impressive.

      Its not underrated, just unknown and quite unavailable. We didn't get many 606 Turbo cars and only a few NA 606 cars. 603s and 602s are way more common along with the 4 cylinders.

    I'm excited for this build. Glad you have content that may be just as cool as the 240 build. For those interested.... I have a pair of bamboo framed boosted shades. Been well over a year. They hold up amazing. And, I'm hard on glasses. I'm hoping to get carbon fiber soon. They were out of stock when I got mine.

    I'm gonna tell you right now, if you are planning on twin charging, that turbo is WAY too SMALL!!!!!
    The primary forced induction has to supply ALL of the airflow you want AT the boost level it will be running on its' OWN...so unless you want to make 350 whp, that turbo is TOO SMALL...edit: If you run upwards of 42-45 psi, you might be able to get the airflow for like 650 hp...that was going off of an s475 map, I couldn't find a direct map for that compressor based on what you stated. The supercharger is going to be running about a 1.8 CR, and if you run a 2.2 on your turbo, you'll get about 43 psi of boost. So just make sure that your turbo is capable of providing the airflow you want at between 2.0-2.2 unless you want higher boost.
    Also keep in mind that the m90 is REALLY inefficient, so if you can, put an A2W intercooler on the S/C or your air charge temps will be through the roof.

      I don’t disagree. This turbocharger was originally purchased with the intent of using it solo. It’s a BW 7670 EFR turbocharger, bought as a super core, with a 1.0 a/r T3 twin scroll exhaust housing. The turbo can supply enough air at a pr for twin charging to hit around 400-450hp not accounting for losses from the supercharger, so more than likely the turbo will be changing before the build is done. I may just end up slapping it on the stock NA engine and just send it with a 400hp no fucks given thing

      @@jamescrapeticio2771 Kewl beans, at least you know. I've seen lots of people go to huge expense doing twin charge builds, and then get disappointed and consternated when the build doesn't make the power they want.
      A lot of the time, they're afraid to use a big enough turbo because they're afraid of lag, but they don't seem to realize that one, you've already got the supercharger adding air and fuel so it's got more exhaust to spool the turbo faster and two, the turbo doesn't have to spool to 45 psi to give you 45 psi. I mean it has to spool to 15 psi to give you 45 and like 25 to give you 60.
      edit: Just be careful with those super high boost levels that your secondary forced induction has enough flow, that's the most difficult calculation although still not that difficult.
      The m90 is good for about 350 hp at a relatively safe spin rate so imagine 30-35 lbs a minute. so at a 1.8 C/R you're looking at a theoretical max of 63 lbs a minute but your efficiency will drop.
      So you can probably get 600 wheel without upgrading the S/C. But your torque curve will be INSANE. A properly setup twin charge setup at 600 wheel will outperform the same engine with a single FI source that runs at 850.

      @@BrockJaden yea I’m excited to try this out. I’m thinking that I’ll pick up a s475 in t4 turbine if I can but I think I can make t6 work if need be. That should have no issues chasing down the mass flow numbers I need, and the m90 will do it’s job fine enough. In a perfect world I’d run a efr 8474 and a gt500 TVS supercharger to get a much better flowing more modern version of what I’ll cobble together myself lol

      @@jamescrapeticio2771 Yeah and the good thing is that if you get the inclination, turning up the boost shouldn't be a problem on a diesel... There are triple compounded turbos running 150 psi on some diesels.

      @@jamescrapeticio2771 Yeah for that amount of boost you dont need to twin charge it. Just put a good single turbo on and enjoy. You are headed for a world of pain with all that needless complexity. Getting it built will be the easy part and then you will be starting a totally new project of making it function properly and modifying it.

    I used to do pharmacy deliveries in a Volvo 240 wagon with a 5 speed. It still drove like a small truck, and I still loved it. Hope you haul some crap in your merc-wagon!

    I'm not sure how long I've subscribed to this channel but I'll tell you this much is that I know you guys are out here trying to do your thing and some of your ideas have been a little unconventional and I've loved that too. I will keep watching as long as you guys keep posting! On a side note I have tried to buy some of the boosted shades but some of them seem to be out of stock. That's not a dig at you guys, just wanted to tell you that I also wanted to support you in that way and I will keep checking back on the website

      The diy wide body is more for bigger tires than aesthetics. W124s have tiny inner wheel space and I don’t want the car to be a massive tire burner, I want it to be fast and actually drive like some kind of aggressive e300 EVO AMG Black thing thing

    The title caught my eye to be honest. The 2jz are damn good engines from what ive seen and you can run a lot of power through em before you really have to do anything with the block or so ive heard. Hope this Diesel set up works for you guys.

    It's actually a LEGIT superturbo now👍🏽 people nowadays tend to use the superturbo name wrong when they're just running a huge ass single turbo. The old tuners used to both supercharge and turbo them, hence the name (Superturbo).
    Very Excited to see how the EFR performs in a 606 since most people use the holsets.

    That m90 is really only good for about 400hp really maxed. It's going to be a restriction to push more air through it.

    Look up Brad Ponci he did something similar. But it's a massive centrifugal supercharger blowing into the turbo. 1000+hp Cummins, 110psi boost with only 50psi back pressure

    Would really like to see someone trying the old school Comprex boosting for zero lag on lower RPM's and some sort of cut off/bypass and a turbo for higher RPM's, as the Comprex is more suited for steady loading and the usable rev range is probably quite slim. Latest car that I know of with Comprex is a Mazda 626. The idea of the Comprex is that the exhaust pulses are directed straight towards the intake, compressing the drawn in cold air via rotating cylinder with small air passages and ports for cold and hot side. Because the compression happens in an instant, there is virtually no lag. Thought the system has been long forgotten, but probably with today's flow analyzing softwares, CNC's and exact 3D metal printing, it shouldn't be too big of a deal to come up with something that works on the lower rpm range.
    EDIT: Seems like there is a company called Antrova AG, that has some new design and concept of the Comprex and they seem to be using the name as a trademark.

    The combo sounds great but let Banks tune it … it would be fuel efficient , less smoke and better power

      Banks can’t tune my engine, because it’s not a common rail electronically controlled diesel. There’s not much to tuning these besides injection timing, pop pressure, pump camshaft, Alda limiting and then it’s up to your right foot. I basically can’t change any of that except pop pressure and timing along with the extra fuel flow. Plus comparing the visible emissions of a old school Prechamber style indirect injection to a modern CDI diesel is like comparing a rotary engine to a 2 stroke engine. Sure they burn the same fuel, don’t have valves and rev high, but that’s where the similarities end, it’s the same with modern direct injected common rail diesels and old school tech like the 606. I’m very hopeful that getting the air density as high as I safely can, good charge cooling, the modified inlets for my prechambers, that I should be able to get a good clean burn with boost and fuel adjustments

    From what I've been researching the OM606 NA will not hold up with the type of boost you guys are talking about. The block casting is not as strong as the turbo version. Will be fun to watch the project move forward. Great job on the videos, keep it up.

    Do you sell Boosted Shades that will clip onto eyeglasses? It would be great if you could somehow make them where the clips are clipping at the ends of the lenses rather than the old style clips that would clip onto the center of eyeglasses that always ended up scratching the eyeglasses.

    I'm really blown away with how you all can make a car, on a tight budget AND with random parts that you just so happen to have laying around your shop. I can only dream of having a fraction of the parts, without the wife getting upset about having "clutter".

    Currently running that style rod in a 13:1 BBC with nitrous and seem to be handling it, was glad to see you put a main girdle on the 606, especially with twin charged setup. The guy over at CZS MS broke the block on his 605 STD with twin charged setup and has since taken the blower off on his newer build. I think the tuning of this setup becomes very important for life of the block. Which pump timer are you going to run on that engine?
