- Hi, this old worship song is a true classic, based on Psalm 98:4-8. The God we serve is a mighty God, by also a loving, merciful God. Let's praise the Lord for what He has done!
Shout to the Lord was written by Darlene Zschech in 1993. Here are the lyrics:

I've loved this 90's Christian song for years. I remember hearing it sung in churches when I was a young girl. My favorite part was in the chorus: "Mountains bow down and the seas will roar at the sound of Your name."
Our Lord is truly magnificent and powerful, as well as our comfort and shelter. Let's give Him all the glory and praise!

This song i first heard in a fellowship church. When the"for his name's sake" are singing it reminds me that this song i've heard once upon a time! It's is below 2000 A.D.. Amen.

@@forhisnamessake So true about the worship music. I just randomly came across the church hurt is a real thing video-and I totally get it. I haven't been back since an awful incident in 2016. I will hopefully get back someday-but will always be extremely on guard if I do. Sad it has to be so weird in churches, and even worse seeing MANY who you thought were saved now acting and living completely like the world. Brings into question if they were actually saved in the first place-you will know them by their fruits after all. Very stressful times we are living in, but God has it all under his control and timing. God Bless!

Oh my! Interesting enough, my mom used to sing the songs of Peter, Paul, and Mary, while playing her guitar. I grew up with those songs and my mother taught me how to play guitar with many of the tunes of Peter, Paul, and Mary, as well as those of Bob Dylan.
