I think adult books are produced so that adults can read a „children’s“ book without feeling like the read one because it looks more adult.

2 of my children went to school in Stirling. The academic school year breaks up for summer holidays around the 20th of June. Then term resumes around 20th of August. Hope this is helpful.

Well done! I love seeing all the different covers and languages that these beloved books come in. I do have a question, I picked up a first printing of the hardback version of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets at a thrift shop for 68 cents. ( I can not leave a book behind if I see it), but, between pages 34 and 35, the book is split. It almost looks like it dried out ... do you know if this can be repaired? Thank you so much for any help you can give me. Keep collecting!

Hi!! I just found you. I am excited that I did. I love hearing about your collection. I consider myself a small collector. I am disabled and can't get out much, or being able to big collector like you as I don't have much money to add to it. I know your time is limited, but if you do have time could you write back to tell me how you started, how do you find your items and a little bit of advice on how to do more on a limited budget. Your youtube channel is lovely and when you post it helps me and makes me happy. It is nice to see things that I won't be able to purchase or the places where I know I won't be able to go. Hi Penny! I'm glad you found The Potter Collector community as well! I am planning to do a video about collecting soon, but the short answer for now is to buy from eBay! You can find great things there to collect. Type in "Harry Potter" and just browse. See what catches your eye. And the most important piece of advice: KEEP COLLECTING! Even if it means one item a month or more. Keep at it.

These were really nice Peter. I think before I discovered you I naively thought that all the artwork either belonged to the UK or the USA and I never thought to check otherwise. The books are in good hands. :)

I do have a question, might be a dumb one lol...but there are so many different looking Harry potter books, will the content always be the same? I've seen some books that look thicker while the same book in a different cover is slimmer. I seriously dont wanna miss out on a single line even. so, are they different?
I don't know how the UK school year runs but logically it would seem you are correct that the signing event would have taken place more in the fall season when school was in session.
Peter, I love your collection and love watching it grow... However I'm wondering about something else entirely.. What do you think about J. K. Rowling? A lot of people, myself included have kind of lost the massive respect I had for her, because of all the afterthoughts she has "added" to the series, via things like twitter and so on - like how she tried to make her series very inclusive, without actually including anything in her books and movies. So I'm wondering what you think about it? :)
I think some things are good but others aren't (like Cursed Child). But to be honest, I still love Harry Potter and appreciate the world that Jo has given to us all.
That news about the upcoming Hogwarts robe giveaway made me VERY excited. Like, so much so. I'll be honest with you. I am a MASSIVE Harry Potter fan. As most of us are. I won't claim to be a bigger fan or know more than anyone else (even though I've had to correct quite a few self proclaimed HP fans). There's enough for us all to love. But quite often I feel EXTREMELY left out. Or like I'm not a "real" fan because I don't have this room filled to the brim with my Potter merch. And yes, I know. You don't need to own a ton of things to be a true fan. I get that. But it's usually the people who do have all that stuff who say it. Most often to make others feel better. There's a reason people like you, Peter, and others, have these massive collections. Because you so deeply love and care for the world that was created and helped us all through the ups and downs of life. You want to show that love. To yourself. Tp your friends and family. To complete strangers, in the hopes that one will come up to you and say "OH MY GOD! THAT'S AMAZING! I LOVE HARRY POTTER TOO! WHERE DID YOU GET THAT?!" and end up making a new friend. I rarely have a penny to spare for these things. And I mean that quite literally. It's a big reason why I get so excited and hopeful when you do these giveaways. Even though I've never won one from you. But that's not the point. It's still fun to hope and daydream about winning. But one thing I've always wanted more than most other things HP related, was a set of awesome Slytherin robes. Be great to have the whole uniform, with the tie and the sweater and button down shirt, all of it. But at LEAST a decent set of robes. To be able to wear that. And feel as though I'm actual student at Hogwarts heading to classes. I think that would feel amazing. It would bring me joy beyond belief. And it's such a simple thing. Yet a good set of robes are VERY pricey. I can't even afford a Hermione Funko Pop. But I guess I'll get to my ultimate point, assuming you've made it this far, because I just realized how much I rambled. I got excited about the robe giveaway. Until I realized there would be no point in entering anyway. And it made me very sad. The issue is, I'm a thick set man. Overweight, to put it plainly. And I've realized that most of the time you're giving away a size that's far too small for me. Like the "sunshine, daisies, butter, mellow" T-Shirt. Would have loved to win it. But I wouldn't fit into it. And there's no point in me possibly taking it away from someone who could actually wear it. And I doubt I will fit in the robes you have either. And it just bums me out. Sorry for bringing what should be a happy thing down. I still love you and your channel immensely, Peter. And you'll always have me as a fan. Keep up the good work. And keep collecting. 😉⚡🖤
You shouldn't despair because, at the risk of sounding cliched, the real magic is in your heart. I have been a fan for 2 decades now and most of the Harry Potter stuff I acquired were only bought last month. Robes also come in all sizes so don't give up hope.
@@thepotterfae3828 I know it is. And thank you. I'm aware they come in sizes that WILL fit me. My only real point was that I can't afford to buy my own, and that hearing he may give some robes away got me super excited. Until I remembered that usually when he gives away clothes, it's clothes that were meant for him (size medium) and he either doesn't want it, already has it, or just simply wants to be nice. And I sure as heck can't fit into a medium. Depending on manufacturer and sizing, I'd need at least a 2x-3x to really feel comfortable and have room to move. I'm starting to sound like a whiny fat kid who just dropped his last slice of cake on the dirt. I'll stop. 🤣 I appreciate you taking the time to read my short story and respond.
Small inside info: The robe will be Cinereplicas Quidditch robes! :D

Maybe have something (like the robe - hint hint!) fitted from an oversize item - though I’m sure you’re actually fine. Wish is extremely cheap, I don’t find the quality that bad, but if you would like a little something like a snitch or a house pin without feeling like you’ve spent too much - something worth looking at. Please don’t feel left out - many people to relate to and send out good thoughts to you!
Love this video! Your collection is so intense and elaborate. What made you decide that it was worth it for you to dedicate so much $ as well as space in your home towards it? I LOVE all of these books but I can’t imagine ever having an extra room to fit them all in. Do you have any other collections aside from HP?

When would the fifth printing have been made? Is it possible that Rowling got these books straight from the printer I.e the fourth printing was still in the shops and these were the first batch of fifths? I don’t just any idea. Absolutely fantastic book though
It wouldn't have been needed until later in the year as the printings before it sold. My guess would be October/November sometime.
I had that article and saved it for years, will have to see if I still have it floating around somewhere!
