Vayo used that same tactic on the whole final table, check calling. It worked well when he was hitting great flops and making big hands but he didn’t hit much when heads up.
Praised? Did you not hear the part about him losing his house because he's a massive POS and can't stop losing everything? He's probably broke right now.
@@rogerlie4176honestly as josephy was the one player who was capable of making correct calldowns(and much better overall) it wasn't a terrible gamble at that point, he could maybe even have been ahead vs some KQs and basically getting the odds vs the pairs at that point. Gambling it up as the worst player is the way to go in big money spots
Ya know, all I remembered from this was that Nguyen got lucky to win. But turns out that was a false memory. He outplayed his opponents many times. The only real misstep was the A4o call vs Josephy’s AQs shove. And tbh, wasn’t that bad of a call considering how much he had already put in there. He played a lot better than I remember, that’s for sure. For some reason I had him right next to Jerry Yang for worst players that won the Main Event. This is obviously not the case, he played great.
34:50 I don't think he made the decision one too street too late. He understood that Vayo might/probably had the queen. He also knew that if the Ace or Jack paired, he'd be able to get full value out of the hand and double up by betting his full house against his opponent's straight. It was a cheap-ish call for a potential double up.
Its a very hard fold. From Josephy's perspective, only A5, 56, 33, 44 or kk beats him. 56 is unrealistic so only 4 hands really. However, with these size bets, it is very possible.
That all in push with AQs from Hallaert was one of the worst plays I’ve ever seen. He had 35m chips, he was so comfortable. Call to see a flop and see where you are at.
Hoping we see 2018 here. 2017 also great seeing so many returning final table people. 2018 great seeing Joe Cada be the 1st former champion in a long while to make it.
The winner is whoever has the best five card hand. The queens and tens on the board were the two best pairs. So Ruane's five card hand was Queens and Tens along with his King. Hallaert's was Queens, Tens, with one of his Sixes. Even though Hallaert had a third pair, he couldn't get credit for it as he's limited to using five cards.
Nguyen should have never even been in the tournament dude got very lucky in multiple all ins…hitting 2/3 outers to keep himself alive…then he gets into some massive coolers and wins the series! It’s just unbelievable how things can turn out! Not taking anything away from Nguyen playing, he played great
Vayo has to be one of the ****ing worst players to ever make a WSOP ME final table. All he did was hit big hands like sets and straights... honestly, I really hated watching him play. Just so out of his depth. I genuinely wouldn't fear playing him heads up. Can he actually shift gears once in a while,
I’m sorry but after Vayo shoves with the set of 3’s I’m 200% folding…there’s no way I’m ahead with bottom set when Vayo called on the flop and then shoved over on the river 🤦♂️ people get hung up on those sets and don’t like to fold it…then Josephy talking about “I didn’t make a mistake 😂 then shoved with K9 and said “I just felt like it, I didn’t have to” 😅
Just seeing this one. I find it ironic (and I haven't seen the win yet) that Qui Ngyen' last name is basically pronounced "Win" and one could pronounce his first name "key" ; making his name "Key Win". Hmmm...
Veyo having two pairs on the flop “ A, 9”, you should had shoved “ All in “. Because you failed to do it, he capitalized to get “ flash “ on the river. That was the turning point for you to lose the tournament. You blew it but 4 mil for second place, not bad at all.
7 or 8 yrs ago when they announced the final 9 there's this comment who predicted the top 3 and by order I forgot which video is that, that dude must be a wizard or something lol...
I honestly don't think Vayo was ever thinking deeply. A gust of wind could blow him off a hand with his passive play.
14:07 Ruzicka's rail wearing Czech your privilege T shirts is so funny. Needling Benger 😂😂
I ever noticed, cheers. Benger was a right Jaffa cake
Yes! 😂😂😂
Hey! You’re verbally abusing him, you BULLY 😭
That was some pretty horrendous heads up play by Vayo
He was tryna let him bluff it off but he couldn't catch em.
It was atrocious
@@repent.sinnerhe did bluff it off. Vayo just never called it.
Dude calls on turn with no plans of what to do on the river .... smh
Vayo used that same tactic on the whole final table, check calling. It worked well when he was hitting great flops and making big hands but he didn’t hit much when heads up.
I think I see how Nguyen has a gambling addiction 🤣
I'm guessing he gave away all of his winnings within a month at the craps table. Degens be degens.
Qui Nguyen had a walk in the park against Vayo, bet and make him fold and just fold when he bets, so easy
Vayo most likely has zero heads up experience or has gotten lucky in heads up lol. Dude let Nguyen know exactly what was in his hand
nguyen's aggression deserved to be praised
He was fantastic and totally deserved the result. No maths or gto poker all gut.
He reminds me of my co-worker and the funny thing is they look alike and same name maybe that's the same guy haha..

Yes, but his A4 call against Josephy was still horrendous.

Ruane came back next year and managed to get 10th place. One of the better back-to-back runs in ME history.
Mark newhouse?
@ notice how I said one of
Vayo was way too passive.
The Josephy "I need a 2" is quoted way too much in my friend group.
"we need ah ✌️"😂😂
Deuceball
"I throw my hand into the muck sometimes, saying ayy-o, I'm Gordon Vayy-yo"
Nguyen was a nice champion to have. Kuddos to his play
The official swaps in By-bit has lagged!!!
I just put up vid to show this
When you swap it gives you almost x 8^
cliff josephy looks more like epstein than epstein does
hahahahhahahahah
Was just gonna write that, then saw your post.
Glad he was busted.
To bluff off 45 mill in chips is reckless by Ruzicka .You live by the bluff & sometimes die by the bluff 😮.

This was painful to watch. I have no idea how Vayo even made the final table. Qui made a complete fool out of him!
That bracelet looks more like a belt buckle.
It should be a Rolex watch, a one off one of one super special, $500,000 worth.
I heard after the main event the Dallas Cowboys contacted Ruzicka and offered him a contract. They’ve never seen a better punter.
1:27 starting chip stacks at the final table. It's amazing that no one moved up more than 1 spot or dropped more than 2 spots in the final ranking.

Ruzicka looked sooooooo nervous and scared when he bluffed off all his stack…even if Vayo didn’t have a set it was obvious Ruzicka had AK
49:25 shut up old man you are acting like a kid, everyone was mad at Qui because he was crushing all this nits with aggression and pure heart
10:51 66QQ vs ? I dont know

Josephy's wife needs to work on PHRASING
The more agressive player won and I’m OK with that! Vayo is a nit and didn’t belong in the HU…
Josephy is ridiculous and detestable
He was all through the tables leading up to the final too. Acting like a total entitled choad.
IIRC Ruzicka seemed the best player and he picked the right target to bluff (the Nit Vayo) but at the wrong time (Vayo actually had a big hand).
1:00:43 Norman gave a coded shoutout to Phil Ivey 😂

nguyen plays maniac style, he´s a fish. he never won anything again but this
Vayo should learn how to ✔️ Check &raise. It's tough to win if you play to conservative. 😮😢

Bluffing aggressive you'll get away and win but it will caught up on you till you lose😂😂😂
Wow Vayo's play was just horrendous heads up! Flops two pair and plays totally passively allowing Nguyen to catch up and win the hand. Geez.
Qui Nguyen: "I am from Vietnam." see what he did there?
I would spend $ 8,000,000
I bet Quinn loss all his friends for hate and jealousy because he got money now 😂

Ngyen, Gold. Yang . Terrible . I that order.
