- Finally bit the bullet and got some mirrors in my gym. I went with the Mirror Company mostly b/c they popped up first on Google and my buddy Travis had used them previously. This is not a sponsored video and I paid for this out of pocket, just wanted to share my experience.

Hey Brandon thanks for this video. I came across this over the summer and got it done within 4 weeks of emailing them. The pricing was half the cost of what my local shops did and I’m glad I got it professionally done.
I got 3 mirros for 1700$. 2 in my gym and 1 mirror cut into 3 for two baths and a hallway. So thank you!

Looks great, with a nice clean install! Like you, I never gave a mirror much priority and it sits at the back of the rack, behind banners!

I like the placement, makes the space look bigger. I am thinking of adding something similar for behind my Monster rack, to monitor form during squats.
I'd be a bit careful as watching yourself squat may do more harm than good in my experience.
It looks good! Like you said, placement is so important, especially if you record videos in the gym.

I got two closet door mirror that were going to be thrown out and framed them in to my wall. Used 2x2 and 1x3 to create the frame. Cost me about $50. Mirrors were free.
Can't beat that.

that's actually ALOT cheaper than most mirrors online, and you'd have to install yourself anyway. I just paid over $1,000 for two 48"x60" mirrors from amazon and will definitely be sending them back and going this route. Thanks!

Great video and the mirror looks great. I'm considering using them - the only issue is they have restrictions around cutout locations (ex. for outlets) which local glass companies may not have problems with. In terms of professional installers I think (from my limited experience) the Mirror Company is cheaper than a local glass company but I could very well be wrong there.
IIRC they may charge more for cut outs

TBH I haven't found myself wanting to use it much, which may be the most telling review I can give lol. Maybe after my next meet I'll try to prioritize use more.

Pro tip. Get one of those window tint squeegees that look like a handle and chunk or rubber on Amazon for $10. They clean mirror like no other in seconds and no lint or wiping.
I thought thats what my wife was for! Kidding! But luckily she doesn't watch my videos.

Not sure, but I haven't really used it, which might be the only review you need lol.
if you could have the mirror in thirds would that be preferable? is the seam down the middle distracting when you're standing the center?
I'd rather have less and larger pieces. Less seams.
What's going on Brotha, if you dont mind me asking how old are you and what is your current 1 rep max in the big 3.? Seems like your getting stronger with age
I'm about to be 45 and haven't lifted in a few years but went to the gym yesterday and matched my 1 rep max on the deadlift.
I've been working in landscaping the last few years and it's helped with my flexibility and conditioning.
I'm 41, my last meet in May I squatted 606, benched 325, and deadlifted 628.

I was quoted a little less than that for one mirror not installed, or delivered from a local place near me. Cali prices 🤦🏽♂️🤣
Looks like a 4x8 mirror from Home Depot goes for around $250, so I'm cool with this price delivered/installed.
I reached out for a quote from these guys about a month ago. I’ll probably end up going with them as the price is actually pretty cheap compared to other companies in my area.

Mirror looks great! Is it tempered glass (breaks safely into a cobweb and stays together, instead of shattering all over the floor)? I grew up working at my dad's window factory. ;-)

@@BasementBrandon Too late now, but something to consider in the future if you ever buy more. Keeps you and your family safe in case anything hits the mirror and it shatters.

At what point in the process did you actually pay the company? Was it at the time you ordered (so 6-8 weeks prior to install), once you had a firm appointment date, or once the mirror was actually installed? Very curious to know. Thanx.
In my case it was after the installation. They just had one of those swipe things that attach to a phone and they took my credit card.
Hey any thoughts on MIRAFIT equipment? Specifically their SSB 2? They used MIRAFIT comp plates at the latest 505kg deadlift attempt.
I don’t think they sell products in the States.

Damn, clean that mirror! Looks nice, but that's way too expensive for something that would have been a very easy install
If you factor in sourcing the materials and tools, doing the install to spec, etc, it was actually cheap compared to how I value my time!
@@BasementBrandon I don't know, but I can understand your view also. I just know I was able to hang twice as much as a couple hours and it cost me about $400. It's still nice, I just think it's a bit much for a mirror. I understand why it cost more and why that seems like a good deal to you...but it's just pricey for something that's easy and a lot of home gym owners could do themselves for a lot less
Is it a glass mirror? I was looking at getting a mirror for my garage gym but I was looking at a polished metal one to avoid breakage

Yeah I think even last year summer when I first looked into it, it was $400 even.
Did they glue this? Or is it simply screwed in?
Screwed in the rails, then glued the back of the mirror.

The mirror itself is only part of it, you're also paying to have it professionally installed/delivered/cut.

Shouldn't have watched this next to my wife. She reminded me that she wants a mirror. Probably just pick up a cheap one and DYI but I understand not wanting to do it yourself. When free time is limited doing chores isn't what a lot of people would want to do.
