Nice job, Peter. A relatively straight forward repair for a change. I did wonder why initially you studiously ignored the OTHER voltage path, but I myself have also been guilty of too fast jumping to conclusions! And Anytone's use of "NOUSE" to indicate "component not fitted" on schematics is not really best engineering practice.
That was an amazing fault and quite good work to solve the problem. Misleading thougts are the funniest part of all works ... Gut gemacht Peter, hat mir wieder einmal gefallen! Gruß nach HE aus NRW! 73 de Olaf

Great job with explanations as always. I have not seen in the schematics the 2 - 2.5V requirement for bias voltage. Does it come from experience or/and the transistor's datasheet?

Just wondering where you find schematics for the Asian made radios. I have a Anytone 5888 UV iii, 2m, 220, 440, working fine for the last 2-3 years. If it smokes or is toasted later on it would be nice to have a schematic. 73...Tim W8RNG in Ohio. I hope you ignore some comments that you are "Long Winded" , that's a good thing for learning videos. I had met a German family in Wilhelm shaven and was invited over for dinner while I was in the Navy from 1972-1976 aboard the USS Nimitz. I worked on A7 coarse airs. VA-86.
How is it thet you can get schematics? In the U.S., they are non-existent. 😢 Nice way to start a Saturday with a Peter repair. Happy Fathers day if you celebrate.
yes, father day is on a different day here.. It is always difficult with AnyTone to get a good after sales support. For this radio it was easy as it is an Alinco dr138
Not "used" to seeing "no use" on schematics like the one you showed. In fact I don't recall ever seeing "no use" on any schematics you've shown in past vids. Can you or anyone explain??
I've never seen that either - must be an Anytone/Alinco in-house drafting term. Obviously it's easier for them to change the text of a value than to remove the component. "Not fitted" or even "NO FIT" would be better English.
Yet another great video by Olaf & Peter ... It is always a great pleasure for me to watched ... l learned so much ... best 73s de DL6RDE / AA1KD, Charlie
Can't express how happy I am that you have returned to UA-cam and are posting these great examples of your findings, thank you sir.
Thanks for the informative video Peter. Always fun to watch you work through the process. Take care friend
Hi 👋
Thanks my friend ! Take care
Nice to see a video from you Peter, Always learn something watching you, Love your videos thank you for sharing with all of us 😊😊
Great repair video as usual and I have learnt a lot from these. Please keep up the problem solving for I have more repairs to do myself.

Thanks, Hector! Yes we were totally blended by NOUSE , I had no idea what it means until I realized....
Thanks Peter, very good repair as usual.
Another FINE job Peter...I learned something, thanks!
Yet another nice repair video, thank you very much.
What would the old man do without you Peter *Cheers* *73*
Thanks for a nice video, and good to see you active.

Well done sir. Your usual excellent fault finding.
y good Peter and your English is very good from your 1 st videos great.. 73s
Great job!
The problem started because the FUN🎉 button (1st button on top) was pressed.
lol yes

At 5:50, he refers to the 2.5 v bias voltage.
Great diagnosing on that radio , was the old pot bad ? or did someone tinker with it ?
In general without knowing bias voltage there would be hard to find fault, I think.
No, not really since we have datasheets which will tell
Very informative.
I would like to see how to Solder on these new flat boards.?
what flat boards do you mean?

It is always an issue as after sales service is lacking! For this radio it was more easy as it is an Alinco dr138..

In Germany, Father's Day is on the same date as Ascension day (May 18) :)
Often wonder that same thing.

Chinese way of stating "Not Used". Main PCB could be used for several different models.
Interesting. Maybe that is more efficient than removing the symbol/value. Thanx.
