Thanks for the good review! It will definitely help you make a purchasing decision. Such a device may be of interest even to a professional, because you won’t throw your large and expensive oscilloscope into your backpack when you go to the field.
there is a way to start up with a user defined setting: make the setting you want (eg only ch1 active) goto menu | systemsettings and choose save current configuration and press ok. that set setting will be used at powering up.
Peter one of the best function I started using with this scope during difficult triggering situations is the start/stop function and just freezings the display that’s the beauty of DS O-scope and you can do this by using the STO/RET button right above menu button like when you show the the AM signal just hit the sto/ret button and freeze the screen gives great results.
Hi Peter, very nice review and test! I went ahead and grabbed one, with a coupon it was $144 US on Amazon. The stuff I could only dream about in the 70s and 80s having is now affordable and worth having to augment the bench. Often as I have 2 shop areas here at home I need something at one that is at the other. I can duplicate many pieces of test gear this way amd save a bit of time.😅
Nice test, thanks Peter. I went from Teleequipment to Tektronix to HP to Hameg to Hitachi and also have tested them new ultra cheap units. Very handy to work on high voltage projects where you can be isolated from ground. For my lab I was considering a Rigol with a Hdmi output. Wonder if yours have it then you could feed your Dell monitor with something more interesting.
Thank you for the content. Let me suggest a new camera that shoots in 4k and well in low-light. The Insta360 Ace Pro would work wonders in your shack. It has and AI-noise-scrubbing mode called "purevideo" that shoots amazing 4k30 indoors for an action camera.
@@FelinoAnticomunista Yep, worths a lot. I have a Hantek 100 Mhz, the dso2c10, thats a good cheap bench scope, but the dpox180h makes me feel way more confortable. You cant take any signal with dpox180h. For this stuffs you are talking about is way more than necessary.
Just to let you know since I've been watching your videos I never could work on circuit traces too well last week I repaired a cb walkie talkie with a whistle when you transmit it not only works but it doesn't look like it was repaired except the cap is new is the only give away thanks And I'll keep watching

@@bigbone88 Yes sir. I just like "stuff" like that and my CC ballance backs that up I'm dowing in it. I do own old school Tek, HP, LeCroy etc and just like to round things out. Peter not only repairs ... he also introduces us to interesting measuring devices ... hats off to him ...best 73s de DL6RDE / AA1KD, Charlie
Thanks Carlie!
I use a similar scope when I go onboard ships for repairs. So far no problems at all

You’re exactly right I was getting ready to post the same response and found yours. I’ve had this scope for a month now and love it.

And you can do zoom in the saved signal as you working live.

Great informative video. I retired after 50 years in the field, Nice to see what's out there
So glad wizards like you make these videos

Love these videos. Hopefully there will be more again soon :)
no worries :-)
Looks nice a nice piece of equipment
Peter a good piece of kit very interesting
one plus you didn't mention: the scope is floating (if you don't couple it to the PC) most grounding problems are reduced.
That is an important one! Thanks
Hi Peter, Forgot to ask if this shows any way to update the firmware?

Hi Peter,
Please what is the name of the active probe you use with your spectrum analyzer to check levels?
Thank you very much sir
Nice little one but we are also interested in the big scoop behind it😬
Hi,
I have a question; do you prefer this model over the 1014d? I would appreciate your opinion! Thanks
"This" person in So.Ca.USA 3rd House On the Left liked your video! It's true what people are saying - You RoCk!
lol perfect! Thank you very much appreciated

how do i gey ahold of you about repairs
Hello, I have a ic 7000 with low output power. Do you accept repairs ?
Für 2K und 180MHz sind 500 MSa/s ein bisschen schwach. 2 GSa/s soltten es schon sein. Dafür wäre man bereit 300 zu zahlen.
It’s only $92 euros. If it doesn’t meet your requirements for that price, it will meet the requirements of people who can’t afford or need a R&S.
@@Route66Wanderer Oh yeah, that' true.
Well, Nyquist says that you have to have 2 times the numbers. This scopes have more than 2 times.
Thumbs up from kb2sbl
