Removal of Venous Lake (Blue Spot/ Blue Bump) on Lip with Laser - A Case Study

Venous Lake is a blue coloured lesion which may be flat or may present as a dusky blue swelling on the lip. These are fairly common acquired defect which are caused by a single dilated vein. They mainly appear on sun-exposed surfaces such as lips and ears.

Please try the 1064 YAG laser for lip venous lake. Don’t use V beam or CO 2 lasers. They don’t work. I’m currently one week out from YAG laser and it looks like my dermatology PA may have finally helped me get rid of this evil creature on my upper lip!

After the lip heals, will there be pits, whiteness, burn marks? Does this method damage the nerves in the lip or the surrounding veins? I had a very small vein crack on my lip. It is on my upper lip, located in the midline and is 1 mm in diameter, not very swollen. Is it effective on very small scars like this? I have this scar on my lip for two years. Is it harmful to wear lipstick now?
