I grew up in Eagle Rock and remember when this mall was being built and opened. It was one of the first enclosed malls in northeast Los Angeles, later to be dwarfed by the Glendale Galleria in 1976 or so. I remember going to Bob’s Big Boy on first floor next to main escalator, as well as Montgomery Ward, May Co. and Miller’s Outpost. The last time I was there was in 2017, and saw the Seafood City and Target. It’s sad to see the slow demise of this mall.
I grew up near this mall in the 80s. It felt like going to a mansion whenever we would go with my whole family to buy something special and walk around window shopping and eating there. I also remember just driving by there as a young child, it felt so special and important for some reason. I remember the traffic while riding in the back seat with all my family there too. We hardly wore seat belts either. LOL
My friends and I used to take buses to come here or Glendale galleria as a teen back in 84-86. We always ate at the Bob’s Big Boy by the escalator. In 87, my girlfriend and I used to watch bunch of movies here. The most memorable movies were Throw Momma from the Train and Three O’clock High. Thanks for the upload! Was just thinking yesterday that tomorrow is Monday Mall Madness. Was excited to see this as I went to this mall a lot when I lived in Burbank. I like the Target. They had (maybe it’s still there) Jollibee there which was unique. I wish I could find some pics of the movie theater. Great vlog - as usual!
There used to be an anime store in the corner of the mall in the early 2000s to maybe 2010s. Don’t know what it was called but it was my favorite store there as a kid.
There’s also a Eagle Rock Plaza in West Orange,NJ.It’s much smaller than this mall is.Thanks Eric!.😎

Trying to cover most of the Socal malls but gas is getting expensive.

Now Walmart is moving into the vacant Macy’s.
