This is my go to vid to show my friends Babymetal. The girls, the kamiband, the crowd interaction. If you watch their Japanese mega concerts, you expect the crowd to go nuts and follow the girls lead... But it's fun seeing my friends jaws drop when a sea of western metal fans standing in the rain and singing along with 3 Japanese girls. That is priceless. 🤘🦊🤘
It’s amazing isn’t it!! I think the weather actually adds to it as well, not that it needed much more adding to. Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching. Make sure to subscribe if you haven’t already 🙌🙌
_Ossu!_ 🦊🤘🥋 Welcome back to the Foxhole Thanks for coming back with this suggestion, as you can see SuMetal and the girls can make everyone sing no matter if you're metalhead or not, that's the power of several years of crowd control and of course the power of the Fox God -NotACult- 🦊🤘 The band you saw with them is called Kami Band and is the regular band after 2014, according to the lore (yep they got lore) they were send by the Fox God to help with metal sound, they're the god of guitars, god of bass and god of drums. They're a elite set of musicians and among the best you can find in Japan. All of them are males, of course they got their own names but those never went on public officially, except for one who is credited for certain songs at studio album. They rotate so not always you'll see the same members, especially the guitarrists. They are: - Míkio Fujioka, god of guitar, a beloved member, sadly he passed away in 2018. R.I.P.🙌 - Takayoshi Ohmura, god of guitar, he's Míkio' Fujioka's pupil and a prodigy child, you'll see his recognizable pink guitar. - BOH, god of bass, he's the bald one and not only got amazing talent but her fun way to enjoy reminds me Flea from RHCP. You can see at the end (when SuMetal is crawling to upstairs) his head got written "Happy Birthday". - Hideki Aoyama,, god of drums, he comes from a family of expert drummers, and his father is very famous in Japan music scene. This was live at Download Festival 2016 and as you can see it was raining like there's no tomorrow, i let someone else explain the funny story of Download, even the producer and creator KobaMetal had to mope the stage to prevent the girls got some accidents, is risky when the stage is wet. They got a new beautiful version live at PIA Arena MM 2023 introducing the new metalverse, you can check it out that clip with watermarked logo safe to react at NLMetal. Next suggestion: - Ijime Dame Zettai live at Sonisphere Festival 2014 to listen something different and witness a turning point moment for their careers. See you next time 🦊🤘🔥
I think this is the best live version of Karate that they have done, especially because of the crowd reaction, in the rain. I think it is much more gritty and down to earth compared to the big glitzy concerts, which are fantastic in their own right. But this one really goes to the heart.
Thanks for this reaction. Something kind of unrelated first: I REMEMBER again ! I knew you looked/sounded familiar. You are the other drummer in the Drummers REACT to VIRAL drumming in Rayna Vandel videos ? As Jake already alluded to, this performance at Download 2016 has history, Babymetal performed for the first time in the UK at age 15, 15 and 16 and at the mainstage of Sonisphere in 2014, that obviously got a bunch of press/attention because they already delivered then too (You can actually react to Ijime,Dame,Zettai at Sonisphere 2014, it's on the official channel). And the lead guy who determines who will perform at Download Twitted in 2014: "There's a time & a place for Baby Metal. Each to their own but Download Festival is not it". "Yep, it's a no from me…another Japanese novelty fad. It works in their homeland & I have big respect for that", then Dragonforce created the guitar parts of the Babymetal's song Road of Resistance and in their own set at Download 2015 invited them on stage to perform a song with them (Gimme Choco). And in 2016 Babymetal got perform at the mainstage. They proved they were not just a fad, they had their second album out in 2016 that sold even more than the previous one.
That’s ridiculous amazing you recognised me and thank you so much for watching!!!! Make sure to subscribe if you haven’t already and I still speak to Rayna and love him dearly 🙌🙌🙌
Good reaction, thanks! "It was a rainy day" It rained so hard all the weekend that the festival had to be renamed to "Drownload" 🤣 Notice all the gear covered in plastic and the slippery floor. And they still danced there and did not hesitate to throw themselves to the ground to complete the choreography. Even their producer was seen mopping the water off the stage before their performance. This is commitment! 😁 "Karate" is on their poppier side, even structurally, but that riff is huge and it comes out from nowhere, hitting you like a bus. Not much important here but you will need to wait until the end of the videos to stop. Specially here: "Ijime, Dame, Zettai" (Live at Sonisphere 2014). 😊 Until next time! 🤘🦊
Often wondered myself what makes this work. A key ingredient, in my opinion, is the flawless execution. A lot of bands seem to be able to get away with mediocre performances. But with Babymetal, because they're so out there and with such a strange concept, it simply has to be perfect to make it work. Else it could have soon be laughable. Well, leave that to the Japanese to work their ass off to make this crazy miracle happen.
I couldn’t agree more 🙌🙌🙌🙌 I absolutely love BABYMETAL and can’t wait till you so much more and dive deeper into this rabbit hole . Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching. Make sure to subscribe if you haven’t already 🙌🙌🙌

you probably have "akatsuki" on your list, and most people suggesting the live at budokan version. i've been watching the fox festival 2017 version a lot lately, and it's really great. a smaller venue and stage setup which looks like a theater or a club with su-metal real close to the band for the whole song. plus mikio on guitar! highly recommend it. the you tube channel "for the fox god" has it with english subtitles.

Equipment on the stage were covered and floor was all over wet. Three girls could have aborted the performance and gone back to a comfortable hotel rooms but they didn't because the huge crowd was waiting and no one left the venue. The girls never modified their choreo even on the slippery stage (You can actually see Su-Metal slipping lightly at 01:57 in your video. ). On the contrary, Yui and Moa threw themselves onto the wet floor and Kamis moved their bodies hard (BOH, bassist, jumped) with the girls to cheer up everyone there. Those scenes moves me to tears, like you experienced. In an interview, Su said this Download 2016 was one of the most impressive festivals because of the bad weather. She felt very happy to see the crowd waiting for them in such drenched condition. In addition, she thought the heavy rain worked as some kind of stage effects to make their performance look dramatic to the audiences in a fever.
