    I would keep the Milliput in a plastic bags, using a vacuum machine, so no air can go in and make it dry. 🤗😍😍😍

    I adore your videos, Ali. The care you devote to each repair project is truly a joy to watch. You have inspired me to follow in your footsteps and, as a result, I have become a huge admirer of milliput. In fact, it is now my go-to repair tool. I have even used it, believe it or not, on a couple of wood furniture repair projects. That stuff is absolute magic! Thanks again for sharing your love and expertise with the rest of us. 🤩

      @@theceramicrepairstudio I've done it! Happy to say a pretty good repair for a first timer. I repaired a plate, I could do with a 9ct look gold paint to repaint some of the trim is there anything you can recommend, as the plate will be used for food does it have to be sealed?

    i am going to give my best ever tip for cleaning hair line crack Spider cracks and removing soaked in grease and dirt / tea stains on old porcelain dinner ware and antique China ware . First clean object in a little white soap powder water without any dyes in it Let it dry. .If object has old glue repairs use a repetition of going from tepid to hot water over the course of half an hour and the old glue will come away easily and items will not crack "DO NOT FORCE PIECES APART "Or you can use paint remover in a lidded container and leave for 24 hours or more . Once you have cleaned all the piece's and let them dry .Fill a lidded container with 2 or 3 bottles of normal domestos bleach making sure all pieces are covered with bleach and slightly vibrate container when you have a chance over a 24/48 hour period , The bleach can then be sucked by pressing bottle into bleach and releasing back into bottle for further use .Always wear a protective mask and rubber gloves Total cost between £3 to £10

    Is the Milliput food safe? I want to repair a porcelain coffee cup. Can it be placed in a dishwasher or does it have to be glazed first? Other than the Rustins, is there another air dry, non-kiln Glaze you recommend that’s not quite so expensive? Thank you from Arizona, USA

    • @theceramicrepairstudio
      @theceramicrepairstudio  Рік тому +1

      Hi there, I cannot confirm that Milliput is safe, you would have to read Milliputs instuctions. There is a Winsor and Newtown ceramic glaze which you can buy from America.

    Thank you so much for this video. I am looking forward to receive my Milliput and start my project. I would like to know if I can add pigment to the Milliput, maybe some gold powder pigment to get a Kintsugi effect. Thank you!

    • @theceramicrepairstudio
      @theceramicrepairstudio  3 роки тому +3

      Hi Odlie, unfortunately if you put in powder pigment in Milliput the colour doesn't seem to really work. You could experiment with quantities which may make a difference. I have already spoken to Milliput about creating a gold colour, which hopefully in the future they will do. Please let me know how you get on. 🥰

    • @theceramicrepairstudio

      I would hand wash in warm water. To paint afterwards I would use proffesional Acrylic paint from Winsor and Newton or Rowny with glaze over the paint. I do have other videos on painting and glazing. 💕

    I just nabbed what remains of my deceased Grandmother’s bone china set. The pattern is called ‘Silver Wreath’ from JAPAN (not the same as a patern from Pickard of the same name).
    What kind of metalic paint would I use for rims?
    Also, is the materials used in the video same to use on tea cups? I’d like to start using mine, and I have 7 out of 20 teacups I’d like to try to repair if possible.

      Hi Iris, I have previously spoken to Milliput with the same question for my viewers.
      They said as long as the Milliput has been cured and completely hardern ' which takes around 24hrs -48 hrs. It is then food safe.
