At 2:58 there is a random cheer from the crowd. That was the moment my girlfriend said YES! and became my fiance! It was one of the most special moments in my life and Im glad I was able to propose at her favorite musician's concert. And yes yes I know this is not a love song, but I did not know that at the show, in fact I had never heard the song before and I was running out of time to pop the question. It was now or never. Good timing too because there was only 1 or 2 songs left after this song. I love you Samantha Hoerauf!
No me canso de ver videos de esta gira. Hace lo que quiere con su canciones, que para eso sus suyas. Les cambia la letra y/o la musica, añade solos de guitarra siempre diferentes y los musicos son fabulosos. John should be proud and happy these days. What a professional and full-hearted person he is!!
the saturday after this on the 15th he played this on his 1964 strat, the same one from the letterman concert. Guess the PRS couldn't make the cut for this song. Played this PRS on about 90% of the other songs though
Tarek Firoze live in Montreal takes the cake IMO. The mid solo is so beautiful and 'spacey' at the same time, while the end solo sounds raw and emotional, kind of "angry" but still vulnerable, in a "I hate you but I still love you"-ish way. Plus: his strat.
João Lucas that was epic! Montreal was so early in the tour that he sheds out his creative best and I think he's followed several jam structures for his solo and that's what makes him so epic! He phrases jams like they're licks. Also, he slow dances the best when he's on his strat. The PRS is his newer side that is pretty darn awesome as well.
Lietuvaitis I think it looks pretty good + it has a big cutaway for reaching the upper frets which I greatly appreciate. Also, PRS produce much higher quality guitars. I've owned 4 fender guitars, including John's Black1 guitar. There was a lot that could have been improved.

@tankthearmytank thanks for posting this video
I keep going back to 4:10 to hear that little blunder in the solo to make me feel better about myself
ive been watching him performing this song since I opened my eyes this morning
this is one of his best performances, its soooooo fuckiing meloooodic, i love it
The solo at 5:15... So much groove and tone
Jollyboy Jay: the best

great recordings! thx!
he's so gorgeous man.
mi genio mas admirado ,entre los extranjeros, the best.
Some people are so resistant to change. Makes me so glad to not be that way. That Silver Sky is where it’s at. I adore it. And John. Woo!
tengo muchismos para admirar y soy fan de John Mayer,Jared Leto y Eddie Vedder y tantisimos mas ,como The Beatles,Jeff Lynne, etc
I like the silver sky but i would love to put big dippers on them, his crossroads strat (white) was imo the peak.
he miseed some notes never thought i would see this so soon
I was there!
love
The Boston version of this song (4/9/17) has to be the best in terms of the "Mayer feel" I've seen this tour. Mayer junkies, what're your thoughts?

I realize I just described every Slow Dancing solo ever, but the Montreal version fits that description just too perfectly.

live in la is the best
The PRS lacks the character and fire the Strat has. Especially his 64', when that really starts to break up you're hearing THE Mayer tone.
@Daniel Nehme you must have a dud then I’ve got a RW and a full maple neck and they both scream
PRS looks good on JM too
Why the guitar sounds too thin at the intro?? Sounds no life unlike the fender strat where the light is live version of this song sounds.
fender strat ?think about effects and eq,you dont need a expensive fender, just crap a yamaha sounds better hahah and i know it my fenders al all gone
Figured it out now. I was referring to the dvd vs this live recorded audio.
that PRS sounds like my Squier....
gary fxxk Well your career should be all set. Let’s hear you play!
HE's got an endorsement deal with PRS. It has nothing to do with what he like best!
great, but pls go back to fender.. :D
Soon he'll be as good as Orianthi, you go boy!
I loooooove Steve Jordan I really do. But this song does NOT fit his style. Aaron Sterling gives everything that spacey and open sound.
think this prs silver sky
dnt match like his old tones
Get back to Fender, stop playing that monster headstock wannabe strat.
sounds beautiful, literally who the fuck cares

why only strat?
It's just a prototype he's testing out for them lol
PRS is far higher quality in every regard...
yes go back to fender!
awkward that's a prs haha
I was there!
