Hello Mariano. Greetings from the Philippines 🇵🇭Good luck on the felt. I hope your stay in Vegas is profitable and a lot of fun. Thanks for sharing a nice video. I enjoy watching you play whether it’s in Vegas, Texas or California . Specially at Hustler. Peace🌹
Damn I love your vlogs bro! I’ll never forget the rampage vlog you crashed where he tried to convince you to get into vlogging. Thank God you listened!! Love your content bro. Keep it up!!
Was here from the first vlog. To see a humble guy rise through the years to now be playing for hundreds of thousands dollars is trully remarkable. Really proud of your progress and thank you for all the videos you have posted through your poker journey
For some reason I like this old school ones way better. Maybe it’s just simply the first person angle. Any after stream footage going forward is greatly appreciated!
I had zero doubts your awful limp call for $400 would turn into a set and fuck it it’s Mariano give the man a boat and the other guy trips top kicker. A day in the life of Mariano
I would drink creek water before drinking Star Bucks. It tastes burnt. I enjoy a nice dark roast flavor, do not like the awful after taste of starbutts. 😢😢😢
Man, that last hand is SUPER interesting if you consider it from the OPPONENTS PERSPECTIVE. You have AJ, and you 5x (3-bet) preflop, one UTG limper calls. Flop comes (QJ4.) Rainbow. You bet small with your middle pair. Limper calls. Turn comes: (QJ4-5.) Adds a flush draw. You check. Limper bets small-ish, 33% of pot. You call. At this point, you're thinking, "NO WAY DOES THIS GUY HAVE A STRONG HAND. He limped Pre, so no QQ/JJ. And, it seems impossible that a set of 4's would be check-calling this flop, and betting small on turn. My range has a BUNCH of straight-draws in it. He either has a weak queen, or a draw. I guess some VERY SMALL percentage of the time he will have AA, since it is guaranteed to be a set, or an over-pair, but too low of a frequency to worry about." River comes: (QJ4-5-J.) Flush draw bricked-out. You got trip Jacks, Ace kicker. Now you're thinking "BOOYAH! GOTCHA SUCKA!" Then, you get felted....
Amazing to see how the game developed over the years. 20 years ago I would just stick to TAG at pretty much any stake in our casino because it was just a donk fest where people would just limp call station with pretty much any two. Than I remember the book came out with: Let their be range. Nowadays people open 1/4 pot OOP on a flop like that with pretty much anything. But still.. At any level people will always keep surprising you. Although after a certain amount of time you will always recognise certain patterns where all of us still make the most weird mistakes. Sometimes I still catch myself into what poker players call ‘asperges’ type of thinking at the table where you presume that the other player might think in a certain way, which really creates surprising and funny outcomes when the hand unfolds in the end 😁
that beeing said, Mariano has always the nuts on the river when villian plays that weak on turn. So i guess solver back- raises river almost 100% to stack AJ KJ
What have you guys being smoking? 1. He didn't check call with 4s, he called IP. 2. Limp call almost always is small pocket pairs (from "regs"). 3. Solver back-raises almost 100% with AJ? Show me a screenshot of your solver analysis please.
The first hand was definitely not a punt. That said, unless you’re playing a maniac the all in bet isn’t getting any AK/AQ hands to make a crying call. We could check back and then call on the river, but I think as played is fine
If you’re not getting those worse hands to call, then what does jamming with JJ accomplish? Maybe protection from AK/AQ? A crying call from TT? You’re forgetting in this game, opponents are capable of checking strong hands to protect their range, and induce these kinds of plays from opponents.
@@guillermoalvarez9400yah, it’s thin. I do think our opponent has sooome semi-bluffs that we can shut down the equity of like any hands with a A K or Q. Plus crying calls from mid pairs. If we check it back and a Q K A falls and villain rips, do we just fold? Tricky spot on that board. And, being results oriented, can we really fold on that river? 🤷♂️
I like checking back and calling on any blank river to keep all possible bluffs in, and if he has it then he has it. (Assuming opponent is balanced with bluffs and value). If an over card comes I’d probably lean towards folding. Maybe we get bluffed off the best hand, but the opponent would have to be crazy to bluff any over card when we could easily have those in our range. Perhaps even an Ace slows him down and it goes check check, or we can bluff an Ace ourselves since it’s unlikely he would check it on river after checking turn.
you must feel you have a very erudite audience to use the word "conundrum". that sounds like an understanding 2 or 3 outer to me. GREAT VLOG()as usual).
The fact that you even played that nit game when you have the juicy HUSTLER games is awesome. It shows you like the grind/challange. Thats a tuff with very little upside potential.
Hi Mariano. I am glad you put this out for the vlog. I wanted to know what to expect from the various rooms. I think your hand was disguised as a worst Jack or bluff. You are a truly good person. I wish you many more years of happiness and success. Congratulations on your new pad. I hope you are going to stay cool next summer.
how do you and Rampage rarely or never protect your hand, literally. just sits there uncovered and unprotected. eventually you'll have to learn hard way and get killed hand to learn.
@@michaelblankenau6598 have seen it happen twice in this month, yes. and both times players were made at dealer. when they should be mad at themselves. and a player folding their cards and those cards slide on top/under Rampage cards - killing his hand just something SO simple to protect you hand w a chip or your hand. this will happen to him eventually and it will be how he learns the hard way
I cannot believe how Mariano doesn't have 10 times as many subscribers as he does today. Poker has never been as popular, and his poker vlogs are absolutely awesome to watch. I can't be the only one that waits eagerly every week for his uploads. Keep it up my brother!
Terrible overplay by his opponent with AJ. Most players are only limping low pocket pairs and low suited Ax UTG. If this guy is a pro, he has to assume Mariano is most likely playing like general bad reg player pool. Mariano has no good Queens and not many Jax hands that could call a raise. He clearly just liked his hand so he raised.
If you know what pros think of limpers, and how they will try to exploit them, you can exploit their exploits. A pro knows a limper won’t have many strong hands on QJ4, so any raise will set off alarm bells. They expect the limper to have mostly draws or weak top pairs/second pair when they call. They expect the rare set of 4s o raise flop at least bet bigger on the turn. So the villain thinks the opponent has at best a weak Q trying to extract thin value, and that the “bad reg” won’t be able to fold top pair to a XR, as the opponent won’t in turn believe the pro has a J in this spot. Again the pro expects the limper to bet bigger with any hands that beat him.

Great stuff, and fascinating to watch the legendary Wynn $20/40/(80) game. Keep up the good work.
Limping is pimping Mariano! Believe me people don't know what you have!
Great vlog as always! Just curious if there's a story behind the Planet Hollywood chip at 22:24?
Are you excited abot Gman's imminent return?

I still remember those early bicycle club vlogs.
I actually used to watch Mariano before his first blog. Thats how much of an original fan I am
is this scripted or did you naturally just pull that "I guess you could say I'm fighting fire with fire" line in the moment

anybody know the name of the song at the beginning?
Yo Mariano, way to make some big plays in the clutch. What was that outro song my brother?
Can’t wait for this years end results
Good video. Stand up game, straddles, and a deck with two 6's of clubs. 👍 👍 👍
Now I know why I am a bad player. Never considered K-10 off trash. That's why I love your videos.
Good morning Mariano! Thanks for the video! Now I got something to look forward to at work

True. And the skill part is not really that deep .
Keep the Vlogs coming.. What were you doing in Monrovia ?
Sweet! How's the music/band thing going? Pura Vida from Costa Rica!
"When in doubt bet it out" is crazy

love your analysis of how you think and position but give more feedback on your take on all your opponents style of play
