Hi Dish! They say hello back! :) Sand dollar Kevin! Love this name! Yes - he was on point with his collecting and on a mission! I am excited to try his Gorilla glue idea! Sounds so cool! Thanks for tuning in and I'll see you next week on the beach!
Hello my dear friend! Thank you for always joining me! I am super excited because the rest of the beaches in the refuge open this month! Whoop! Stay tuned for more fun!!!
Hey Domi! Thank you! I LOVE hitting the beach and it's so fun when I have people to share it with! They are opening all the beached this month! Stay tuned for much more adventuring and exploring! 🌊✌️❤️
Oh wow what a beautiful trip and finds you had. Thanks for taking me along. Loved the shells with critters in them and of course the sand dollars. Take care and I’ll see you next time🐚💜
Hi Ginny! Almost every shell we found had a critter! The beach was alive today!! And. All thos sand dollars were bonkers! We collected a ton and there were a ton more! We could have collected all day, but never gotten them all. Thanks so much for always watching and I'll see you next week on the beach!! 🌊✌️❤️
Hi Jeane! You are super welcome! It was a great beach day and yes - SO MANY sand dollars! I am also excited because the beaches open up again this month! Whoop! Stay tuned for more exciting shelling!!
Hey Karleen! Yes...they sure are smart birds! At low tide all you hear are the seagulls sqauking and the clam shells dropping against the rocks. Lol. I am so excited...the beaches are opening this month! Stay tuned for more exploring and adventuring!!! Hugs from Plum Island!!
☕️🐚☕️What a fun trip to the beach! I'm always amazed by the amount of sand dollars in your area! I learned something new from you today: a slipper is a type of limpet. And here I thought we didn't have limpets in NJ, but we have lots of slippers. Enjoy your visit with your parents!
Yes! There are boat loads here. Some days more than others. Maybe you need to plan a trip and we can go sand dollaring together! My parents just went back to Florida yesterday, but we had a fun visit! Can't wait to visit them again and head back to Sanibel! ❤️✌️🌊
Hi Kelly! Yes! Sand Dollar Kevin had quite the haul! lol! I do love finding little live friends, but I am sad when I have to leave a pretty shell behind! Hahaha. Don't work too hard! Tell all the Dr's and nurses I say s'hello!
Hi Bob! Thank you and yes - the seagulls are fascinating. They also stand at the shoreline on one foot and stomp the other foot to to make the worms think it's raining. Worms surface when it rains and then the seagull eats the worm. They are smart birds 😉
@@PlumIslandSeaCabin No junonias. Soon I will send you the video of all the findings. I am having a problem with the size of the video. Soon it will go your way. I am being very slow lately.
Hi Debrann! Yes - every once and a while a mega load of sand dollars wash up. I always follow the tides and dead low in the location and to the left is a sweet spot, but some days there are more than others. It was super fun though! Pretty soon the beaches will open! Stay tuned!!
Hi Jamie! When I first saw the buckets full of sand dollars I thought, "oh goodie." I just knew you would be posting some on your Etsy sight. Bummer, they were not yours, lol. But I know they are coming and I can't wait. Loved all the little live critters! The beach was gorgeous! Your videos just lift my heart! You have a great week and weekend😊😚
Hi Freda! I plan to collect some this weekend! Stay tuned and check my Etsy next week. Thank you so much for always coming along on my adventures! Stay tuned - this month all the beaches will open! I can't wait to explore!
Hi Yvonna! Thank you so much! It's fun to freshen things up a bit every now and again! Thanks for tuning in. See you on the beach next week for a new adventure!
Hi Anita! Thank you so much! It's getting hot here with this heat wave and being at the beach in the heat means the hair had to go - lol! Thank you so much for watching and yes - all those sand dollars were so much fun to find!
Oh! Amazing way to spend your birthday! I got a hot tip on a place to find New England Neptune's there! Try East of McMillan Pier. The Pier keeps the shells at bay! Good luck!! And Happy Birthday!!
This channel makes me so happy. So relaxed. As someone who adores shelling but doesn't have a good beach to do it on, it makes me try harder to find pretty shells even with little to go!
Hey there! Thank you so much! I am so glad I can bring the beach to you. Plum Island is one of my most favorite places on earth. It really brings me joy and happiness. I am so glad I can share it with you. Thanks so much for joining me on my beach adventure!!
Love all the live critters you filmed! I've haven't seen that many sand dollars since I was a kid at Hampton beach! Never find any there now 😐 kudos to the woman who won't take them alive ❤️ Wonderful video!
Hi friend! Yes - all live creatures need to go back - 100% 😍✌💜🌊. I have only ever found 1 intact sand dollar at Hampton. PI is loaded. You should check it out when you can! Thanks so much for watching!
It was heartbreaking when you turned that beautiful white dog welk over and there was those bony little legs lol to bad you cant talk them into moving oh well they have to live somewhere also thanks for taking us shelling with you
Hahaha - something told me when I saw it that it was going to have a resident. I was like "WOWZA! Nice shell, but I bet it's occupied :( - YUP!" But we can't win em' all right? lol - maybe next time! Thanks for watching!
Could you add the dimensions of the Beach art to the descriptions on ETSY? That little moon snail with a ort hope and an inhabitant. Do you think it felt like be tumbled by the sea waves? LOL Wow that is a lot of sand dollars. What color are they in Maine when they are alive? Thanks for getting your feet wet for me!
Oh yes lol. Dimensions would be helpful haha. Sorry about that. I am still learning 🥰 I just added them to the little drift wood houses. Also, yes...so many sand dollars. I have never found one in Maine, but in the surrounding areas like NJ and NY they are the same color...gray to dark gray and sun bleached white. Also, when they are alive, green, red a purple! 😍
Thank you so much, exiting to see all te treasures. We don’t have sand dollars here in Norway. But we have a relative we call it “sjømus” it is round like a golf ball but it is the same pattern on top of it. It’s a seldom to find them whole because they are so fragile 😍
Hello in Norway from Plum Island! Thank you so much for tuning in! I am going to have to look sjømus up and do some research. The sound very similar to sea biscuits here in the US! Thanks for sharing with me! I love learning new things and I am so interested in different types of shells all over the world! Thank you so much for reaching out and tuning in! Shell well my friend!
Hi Barbara! Those are the dog whelks. There are some periwinkles mixed in there too, but I think the yellow-y ones you are referring to are the dog whelks. We find nice sun bleached ones of those like the one the hermit crab was living in. They come in a variety of colors - red, purple, yellow, brown and even banded. They are one of my most favorite shells to find!
The 5 "arms" on the shell represents the 5 wounds of Christ on the Cross. The dove represents the Holy Spirit. It's really cool how the crazy things become so meaningful.
Hey there! 👋 Thanks for watching! The ones being collected are the expired/ dead exoskeletons or "tests". These are also found in the water along with live ones. You can tell if they are alive by looking for the cilia - a coating of small hair like fibers that helps the sand dollar move across the ocean floor and transport food to it's mouth. They are deep red, green or purple when they are alive. A few of my other videos have live sand dollars in them if you have never seen one. It's fun to experience a live one! Thank you again for tuning in!!

You know if you break one you'll find a dove in it my sister bought my younger daughter some and now we have doves from the sand dollars
