I'm not quite at the 2 week mark of wearing it exclusively but they suggested to give it 2 weeks to work and detoxify from wearing other deodorants. I love the scents, I do however have to reapply when working out but instead way more than the average and I'm a personal trainer with a super active lifestyle and I'm surprised at how well it actually works. I would say for anyone who wants to try it out give it closer than 2 weeks bc it actually does work and I use to use clinical strength deodorant prior to this. Native gets a 👍🏾👍🏾from me.
Is this just for odor?, or sweat?

That's true. When I first stopped using aluminum deodorant, the natural ones did NOT work....until I learned that your poor sweat glands have to detox since the aluminum stuff basically shrinks and debilitates the sweat glands, which do a great job of detoxifying your body, very important. The aluminum itself is toxic to your body, so worth trashing! Once your armpits detox, the natural stuff will start to "work". One thing though: you will still sweat, but you NEED to sweat. There are brands out there that do reduce, but not completely, perspiration and help you stay dry by absorbing the moisture. It's worth it to me to use it. But I will say, me being a vegetarian does help with body odor. I've noticed a change since I stopped eating meat, personally. I would encourage people to try several natural brands until you find the best one. There are some natural brands that will not work for me, but are great for others I know. Probably depends on hormones, body chemistry and diet.

I'm just at the end of Day 1, BUT it's been at least 7-8 years now since the last time I used a chemical deodorant/anti-perspuramt.. So there's no real detoxing to do in my case.
But I am still giving myself the 14 days for my body to fully adjust to this one and it's unique formula (got the Sensitive Coconut Vanilla one).
I was blown away by how long the pretty scent actually lasted, how well and for how long it kept odours away, and how soft, moisturized and healthy my armpit skin felt. My pits felt and smelt perfectly all day imo
One thing you should know before reviewing when you go from regular deodorant to natural deodorant is regular deodorant has aluminum and other bad ingredients which block and clog your pores once you switch to natural deodorant your body will expel all of that, which was blocked in. So you will stink in the start, until your body adjusts. So next time maybe know some information before reviewing and switching. Maybe try something for a week before giving a bad review on a company. Cause that’s someone’s business you’re giving a bad review on.
I agree. My understanding is that it could take up to a month for your body to adjust. I didn’t even know that myself until I started doing research. I’m sure this reviewer wasn’t aware of this fact. But as you stated a bit more research would be appreciated before a full review is done.
I’ve used it for about 4 months now (maybe even longer) and it only lasts about 3 hours. I gave it enough time, and it did not work for me.
Maria Rodriguez You’re probably going to have to try different products as I did. I ended up with Duke Cannon myself. And it’s doing a good job so far. But yeah definitely look around.

12$ IDGAF this shit is the bomb! I suffered from hyperhidrosis for years so I had to change the things I used as far as armpits wise. So I stopped using deo for 3yrs unclogged my pores and it unleashed the beast. So after trial and error I found this AND I'M IN LOVE!

I have hyperhidrosis as well, im so glad it worked for you and it gives me hope. Definitely going to purchase now. Underarm BO isn’t an issue for me except when I’m PMSing but hate that my underarms have gotten dark from using arm & hammer 😓
It helped with your sweating? I've had a sweating problem since the 6th grade and i am in my mid 20s. I've been to the doctors hella times and been on hella meds and nothing. I mean nothing has stopped me from making my shirt hella wet. I dont ever smell though just sweat A LOT

I’m worried about this deodorant burning my skin, I ordered this today (cypress and ginger / vanilla sandalwood) but now I’m pretty apprehensive because I’ve been burned literally by other natural deodorants but I usually use old spice deodorant (men’s because it works better than the women’s for me) but it really doesn’t work either idk

I went from secret to native overnight and it works incredibly! I wore it for 24 hours without reapplying and it still smelled incredible! (Coconut vanilla) I had tried an even more expensive natural deodorant last year and my pits would smell worse with it than with no deodorant. I love native so far!
What you must also take into consideration is when you abruptly switch from OTC deodorant to NATURAL deodorant, your body WILL go through a detox phase so you WILL smell funky until your body purges the horrible OTC deodorant from your pits if that makes any sense at all?
I tried deodorant for about a week but had to stop using it when I noticed it gave me bad acne on my armpits. It was a bad idea buying it in the first place though because I discovered earlier the week before that coconut oil makes my skin break out. I got acne everywhere after using coconut oil in place for a regular moisturizer. I thought it would be fine since most people don’t get acne from coconut oil but I guess it’s just my skin type that caused this. I’ve gone from having very oily skin to now having super dry skin because of nutritional deficiencies which apparently are the two skins types that shouldn’t use it. If you have regular skin, mildly oily skin, or mildly dry skin, then coconut oil would probably work at least according to what I’ve read.

This is from 8/2019 Harper's Bazaar article _("The Best Aluminum-Free Deodorants: Fun fact: all deodorants are aluminum-free")_ & there are many more articles online about the difference between deodorants and antiperspirants. I don't like that a big part of Native's message is that they are aluminum free and that's not different from any other deodorant!

YES! THIS^ I have been using old spice deodorants for years no issues. Their aluminum free deodorants i love. I got sucked into this “natural” thing and bought native. My old spice and native deodorant do the exact same thing for me. I am kinda mad i bought a whole pack and two of the scents I don’t like much. But honestly my old spice deodorant and native one does EXACTLY THE SAME THING FOR ME. Also I have not used antiperspirant with aluminum for years because I am allergic to the aluminum in them.
I bought it and did not like it. I suggest you guys try "Ban" shower fresh. It is a unisex brand, no aluminum , holds all day and smells great

Today is literally Day 1 for me, mine just arrived yesterday. I like to buy them on Native's website. As S & H is free there anyway if you spend $10.00 in the US or $30.00 if you're in Canada. Online you get the best selection, as many scents and promotions are only available online. And the newsletter you can sign up for fills you in on any specials or coupon codes. Plus Customer Service are such sweethearts.
Anyway, I'm just in love with my new deodorant. It feels like my all time favourite. Imo, well worth the price for me. I got the Coconut Vanilla Sensitive one. As baking soda tends to make me break out in rashes. And this one is doing fine with my sensitive skin.
I LOVE how moisturizing it is. Right away my skin felt healthier to me and in better condition.
LOVE the scent (can't wait to try more of them). It literally lasted 11 hours on me. Till the 11 hour mark ALL I could smell was coconut and vanilla, really pretty too. After the 12 hour mark, a touch of BO came through on one arm, and not even that much. I expect that to improve as they ask you to take 14 days to get your body fully used to it. But 11 hours is good enough for me anyway. Enough to get through the workday and home. If I were going out again after a day I'd worked all day anyway, I'd shower and reapply.
I've never been a person who perspires all that much, but I felt just comfortable all day, perfect really. Not to dry, not too moist, just right and comfortable.
The past 7 or so years I was using the salt stick deodorant,. But I now love this much more. It smells great and keep my pits moisturized and healthy.
Works way better than those chemical antiperspirants imo too. As the pretty scent last much longer, and my pits feel conditioned. And I don't feel overly dry, something I find uncomfortable after using natural deodorants for so long.
No, aluminum, parabens OR baking soda . And they have lots of baking soda free scents too. My underarm skin feels moisturized and healthy and it s not just odourless but smells great all day. Just pretty much a perfect product for me .
I forgot to say when I first apply it on since this my first time trying natural deodorant so I felt a little itch tingle at first it last like 2 seconds.lol.but so far I love the smell and I don't smell any b.o
I LOVE Schmidt's deodorant!!!! I just started using it a few months ago, but I did NOT know that you had to let it warm up on your skin first and I swiped it over my armpit and the consistency was LITERALLY like sandpaper (I used the Lavender + Sage)!!!! It was SO rough that it actually cut my armpit in several different places 😕😕 The ONLY reason I stuck with it and decided to keep trying it is because Schmidt's is the only natural deodorant I've tried that doesn't make me stink. Now I just make sure that it's REALLY warmed up before I use it. I wasn't able to wear deodorant for about 5 days after my first incident because my poor little armpit needed time to heal 😂😂 I've tried SO mant natural deodorants and NONE of them (except Schmidt's) have kept the odor away. Not even Biossance Squalane + Bamboo Deodorant that is CRAZY expensive at Sephora. It worked for me at first (for a little over a month) then it stopped. I'm sticking with Schmidt's. The fragrance free one is my favorite, but it's EXTREMELY hard for me to find 😕😕
I hear ya! I dreaded putting on Schmidt's because it was so rough and i also had an issue with chafing, so I had to add power to my armpits to try to avoid it. Not sure if you saw my other two videos, I have one on Schmidt's, but the other is on Myro. If you haven't seen it you should check it out (ua-cam.com/video/DVuGGG_9-SQ/v-deo.html) its my #1 natural deodorant right now. It has the same "stink fighting power" as Schmidt's but glides on like a dream!
I run the deodorant under hot water for a few seconds to let it soften. The sensitive skin version is smooth without the grit. I use both versions due to fragrance variety
this is true, that was exactly my experience. I tried for almost a month and it just got worse.
Just bought the mens charcoal, smells great. After watching this video however, I'm pretty nervous to try it on.

I bought one, because I noticed that my old deodorant were losing their strength, it was like my armpits were getting inmune to typical deodorant, just let met tell you something, this stuff works !!! The only downside it’s the price
I do love Native deodorant but their stand out product for me is their bar soap! Super creamy lather, smells amazing and doesn’t parch my skin. It’s amazing!

I didn’t stink with this but I got bad under the skin pimples like things and it took a good few weeks to exfoliate n heal. Shaving over these pimples were awful and it hurt putting on dove after. I emailed them and they said that it’s a reaction to the baking soda. Fml.

It could have been the baking soda if it was bumps caused by irritation. For me I used native and it gave me a full blown breakout on my arm pits. I know for me that it was the coconut oil because a week before I got the native deodorant I broke out on my face and body after trying coconut oil as a moisturizer. Apparently a lot of natural deodorant have coconut oil so now I’m looking into all these different natural brands without it, it’s much harder to find then I thought it would be.
I had the same issue with the Native deodorant. It took me weeks to heal.

That's what had happened to me but Native has a sensitive line and it does not irritate me at all.
That's definitely right, you need to make eating change, detox your body. It took me 3 year to fully be able to use a natural deodorant. It was very hard most of the time I was not able to self care. Armpits have to be clean a lot, to reapply. Detox with clay. Your eating is very important I notice that sugar was the main reason I smell. Ever since I sugar detox, that made a huge difference. Not only sugar but things that turns into sugar in your body. Before I'll use the strongest natural deodorant now I canuse any and only apply once a day. Sweating or not still I smell good. It got good that as long as I'm not sweating, I don't have to apply deodorant and I don't smell. I don't but my mom does wear deodorant and she never ever smell.
Which Schmidt’s do you recommend. The ones I have gotten hurt me like sandpaper going on
Honestly, now that I tried Myro I don't know that I would recommend Schmidt's I like Myro way better! It goes on like a dream, no scraping trying to put it on and no chafing while wearing it. Not sure if you saw my other videos, but I just posted one yesterday on Myro, I really like it and its my favorite so far out of all natural deodorants I've tried.

SO! Look up Dr. Dray and her video on natural deodorant myths. She's a dermatologist and got me using the aluminum based deodorant again because I've been using it wrong this whole time! I'm done smelling, all this natural stuff is for the birds.

I have been using sensitive skin Almay for year and I've just started having problems. It itches and burns. I've tried toms and Schmidts they haven't helped. I was told by a nurse these help. I hope they do. I would rather pay a little more if I get some relief. I'm so miserable.

@@GabrielaHernandez-mq8kj you should let it dry properly when you put it on. Also the best way is to use it when your body is warm (like after a shower) :) also when your armpits are kinda damp
I decided to try it one time, 'cause it was at walmart... Shit was AWFUL. I LOVE mint, and cucumber has such a neutral smell to me so I figured it would be mostly minty smelling. It smelled OK, but the scent was hardly there at all, it was pretty much a hint of mint and that's it. 100% not worth the money, and the stopping power of BO is pretty awful too, lol.
It does leave residue. But cleared my dark underarms. Still doesn't help the sweat. Kinda in between about it
It doesn't help with sweat bc it's supposed to stop ur sweat from smelling bad ur still going to sweat but u won't smell like sweat
I had the same user experience with Native deodorant it wears off really fast and you have to constantly reapply throughout the day im not sure where those 5000 5 start reviews came from xD

I guess it's true. We all have different body chemistry and what works on one person may not on the next. Same as perfumes smell so differently on different people.
Mt first time with it was today and it easily lasted 11 hours where all I could smell was the beautiful scent, till anything more natural was at all noticable. 11 hours is fine with me.
In my case part of it also might be that I have not used any chemical deodorants in 7-8 years, so I had no actual detoxing period to go through as when you make the switch from chemical to natural
Maybe your body was still detoxing a bit when you started with Native(?),. It can take a few weeks to fully get used to natural only.
Hate to say it, but it'd be a 5* review from me too though.
I use the Equate natural brand lavender scent (Walmart equivalent to Tom's of Maine natural deodorant)

@@MelissaParrella I like it, I've been using it for 5 weeks. As your body gets used to switching from Degree to a natural product, it takes some getting adjusted to, but I'm happy with it. I've learned that aluminum in traditional aniperspirant/ deodorant is linked to breast cancer, that's what motivated me to change to natural products.

How does it feel to wear this deodorant on top of shaved underarms ? My current natural deodorant is good in sweat and odor prevention, but it feels a bit dry & itchy if I wear it on shaved underarms. I wear lotion to counteract.

So...I have heard people say that it takes "a while" for their body to "adjust" to it. Idk. Today is my very 1st day trying it.

I started out using Schmidt’s Rose + Vanilla at the the start of my experimenting with natural deodorant. The detox period only lasted about 3 days and then everything was fine - meaning no excessive sweating or odor. I thought I had hit the jackpot on my first try.
At first everything was fine, but then I would start to feel overly sensitive. Shaving was painful, my pits were irritated and started to darken. I immediately stopped using Schmidt’s and moved on to Native’s Powder and Cotton that I had found at Walmart. My armpits began to lighten but I realized instead of the 2 swipes needed for Schmidt’s, with Native I had to reapply at least once more while I was at work. It was pretty damn embarrassing to deal with customers and my coworkers smelling like a stinky mess. But luckily I stared my natural deo journey during winter time so it wasn’t as hard to cover up. I tried it out for about 2 weeks before I went back to Schmidt’s. I didn’t want to waste anymore money and would rather use up what I have. Unfortunately the sensitivity came back even worse than before.

Thank you for this! I thought I was the only one who couldn't get it to work! Turns out, the reason they have so many positive reviews is they don't post the negative ones-- I've tried many times and they still won't post it! Native made me stink of BO for the first time ever in my life, and I've been using natural deodorant for 10 years so it wasn't a "detox" phase. Awful product, sketchy company. Thank you for your honesty!
It has high ratings outside of their website like on Amazon so your theory kinda falls flat.
I've just tried it for the first time myself today. I'm in love with my Native,. It's just perfect for me.
The beautiful scent lasted a super long time, also kept any BO away fir 11 hours (more than long enough for me), my pits felt perfect (not too dry, not too moist) my out skin felt so moisturized and healthy. I don't think I've ever found a deodorant I love more. I'd be one of the people giving it 5*s.
But then I am also sure that different people have different body chemistries. And what is great product on one person erson can be a fail on another, and vice versa.
I think I do remember seeing some negative reviews their in the Native site too though....
walmart got it, a lot of a company are making the something I sew them at Walmart and they were not 12.00 LOL!!

It's not that great. It's a deoderant t not and antiperspirant, still going to have sweaty arm pits with a hint of coconut. 2 stars from me.
