The titans really mess up and exposed themselves. Char gave his speech and the titans proved him right.

When I was younger and more naive, I just assumed Char was the bad guy and didn't give much weight to his views or opinions. But now, years later, I'm starting to believe he was acutely aware of what humanity was doing to both the earth and to our fellow man. Just because he's usually shown as the enemy, that doesn't mean he's wrong.

CCA was a fanservice that destroyed ZZ during the production and killed the franchise. Casvel was a good man, zeta showed us that, he would never had abandoned the AEUG and let haman did what she did in ZZ, maybe she could succed, but he would be there to fight her

@@piratavorak Seeing how Zeta Gundam ended on a bad note. Most of the staff of AEUG are deceased, Kamille was left catatonic. Zeon was back in power. All of this just reopened old wounds for Char. His attempt for redemption had died.

I love G v ZG simply for the fact that the redub is even better in UC mode than the ZG TV dub, especially when it comes to this Dakar speech and the Battle of Gryps.

it's funny because Senegal the nation whose capital is Dakar has been involved in an initiative called the Great Green Wall a land reclamation, expansion of agricultural land, and creation of new lands from the Sahara by planting hundreds of thousands of hectares of trees, and other foliage where the Sahel and Sahara meet. If they kept at it for even 50 years let alone the 100+ that UC takes place in Senegal would be green as hell.

Actually, CCA does follow from Zeta, because if you look at the aftermath of this speech, Char is seen looking up at the sky in frustration. My interpretation is that he was pissed off because AEUG's staff used his father's name and his image to force the Federation to not support the Titans, but not really bring about actual changes. It seemed Char wanted to in fact, destroy the Federation outright. And he was very much opposed to the invasion of Jaburo, and championed the destruction of Gryps, which would have left the Titans stranded on earth and prepared AEUG for Haman Karn's arrival. But Wong Lee and the AEUG leadership often overrode his plans saying that the Titans will build another Gryps, which they were wrong as it gave the Titans enough time to build a colony laser. As such, this leads Char down the path to CCA after his frustration.

@@CosmoShidan the way he says to protect the earth in the dakar speach and he would never let haman alone, when judau somehow convinces Minerva to go with him, only char could have done that but he is hiding(?), zz could say char planned the rebellion against her but he simply disappeared, and even if cca somehow makes sense, explain why kamile and judau is never mentioned, his sister simply disappeared and why amuro is not at his side since he even says that trying to move people into space is going to require a sacrifice or two(even so during zeta gundam char is against polluting the earth).

@@piratavorak Judeu isn't in CCA because at the end of ZZ, he showed hatred toward BOTH the Federation and Zeon. One because when he was cursing "adults", he was cursing Bright's generation for perpetuating the wars that have happened in the last 15 years. Not to mention that if you remember how Judeau punched out Bright Noa, it's because he distrusts him afterwards, especially when the Federation did nothing but watch Neo-Zeon tear itself apart. Meanwhile, he also hates Bright since he tried to massacre 30k civilians on Axis. All the while, he hates Haman Karn for dropping the colony on earth. Hence, Judeu goes into exile to the Jupiter colonies.
Kamille never appears in CCA simply because he went through PTSD during the Gryps war and never fully recovered. So he ends up with Fa Yuri and spends the rest of his days with her. Plus he stated that he hates the Federation early in Zeta Gundam.
Now since you mention the Glemy Toto rebellion, how exactly would Char be involved? I can buy he rescued Mineva Zabi, but financing Glemy's rebellion? I thought Glemy was a clone of Girhen Zabi or his bastard son. Otherwise it is the nature of fascists to compete with one another for power.
Also, Char in ZZ is behind the scenes rebuilding his forces as implied by Sayla at the end of ZZ, which she wants to see him dead. Why does Char turn on everyone after Zeta? I just explained it above, but will reiterate it again, AEUG's leadership would never take his ideas seriously and it led to blunders. Again, Char wanted the Federation overthrown from the start of Zeta Gundam. And because AEUG is corrupted by corporate interests, Char decides to dethrone the Federation himself, by destroying them with their own capitalist system in CCA.

@@CosmoShidan Char's goal was the same as his father, and even says that the zabi family had nothing to do with it, Char literally becomes the leader of the AEUG so it makes no sense for him to abandon it and "rebuild" zeon somehow, haman would catch that, they removed Amuro and Char from zz because of fan service, the film have great scenes but lore wise is a mess. they only made Sayla talk to bright at the end to try to make some sense for the film.
Char's goal at the zeta gundam was always to destroys the titans and then move people into space, the federation could have been puched with politics for this happen since karaba had control over the earth by now, CCA killed a great character and destroyed the universal century lore forever.

    • @CosmoShidan

@@piratavorak Dude, rewatch Day of Dakar, if you look at Char's moods and emotions after the speech, he is in a state of frustration, because he was USED. Char never wanted to persuade the Federation judging by the aftermath of the speech. Plus, when Jaburo was blown up by nuclear bomb, it caused great damage to the Amazon rainforest; this is what Char means that he doesn't want to pollute the earth any further before the failed mission. He didn't approve of the Jaburo drop because he didn't want to risk damage to the Amazon, since it is what little green patches of earth left. In other words, this is foreshadowing CCA, just as the Day of Dakar speech. And when you hear Char argue with Haman when he says he wants to create a world where all of humanity will become Newtypes at the end of the series, that further cements and completes foreshadowing CCA. As do the events of ZZ.

Go vegan. It’s way too early for moving into space, but the mindset his ideas for taking responsibility for our reckless pollution and preserving the Earth are very relevant and admirable today. For now there’s only one Earth, and we’re sharing it. I hope we can resolve our issues here before we even begin to discuss colonies, otherwise we really will have wars between “earthnoids and spacenoids”. Protect your Earth today for our tomorrow.

    • @mojavefry2617

Counter argument: veganism is not a natural diet for humans. True, the essential enzymes and vitamins for our bodies can be found on both plants and fungi, but animal flesh contains a lot of said essentials in higher quantities per measure. As much as we have divorced ourselves from the state of nature, our bodies are still a product of it, thus it would be unwise to diverge from our omnivorous nature.
What needs to change is our attitude towards eating meat. Before a few centuries ago meat (and that I mean poultry and mammals) was not as frequent on someone’s dinner table as before; indeed, eating something like a deer or cow was usually for some special occasion.
The development of enormous ranches and battery farms, along with the expanding middle class’ desire to eat like the rich did, led to the current situation. We have witnessed in the last 40 years a similar development in China, where the growing middle class came to expect more frequent meat in their diet.
Instead of quitting meat entirely, I argue that we should reduce consumption of it considerably.
Perhaps one day, it will be possible to create meat in the lab efficiently, or some other means of achieving our required nutrition in an efficient and healthy manner will be discovered, and we can truly abandon eating animals. Honestly, I hope that day does come as I do love animals greatly. But as it stands, the necessary groundwork has not been laid to the extent that mass adoption of veganism would be either healthy or practical.
