I use the Palomar knot all the time now since I learned it about a year ago! Where do you get that braid from? I would like to get some for sure. Thanks for sharing
I use the Palomar #2 for almost everything. Easy to tie and very strong. One thing to remember when tying any of these loop knots is to make sure where the loop contacts the eye the line of loop is side by side and not crossed over itself.

#2 appeals to me. I know it’s basically a clinch knot. But the fact that it’s doubled with the loop going over the swivel or hook instead of just through line itself, seems to me that it would have better strength, for your larger and stronger fish, like salmon and steelhead. I have used the 1st shown knot exclusively. It never fails. The line has to break before it loosens, unravels, breaks or fails. It also doesn't create a lot of waste tag end cut off. After doing it a million times, theres no tag end cutting, just a bit of remainder showing. I never bother to cut it off because the bits end up in the environment.
None of these are 'better' than the uniknot here. In fact the first and third are worse in terms of breaking strength, Palomar is different applications.
I have used knot number 2 as well. But just to make certain I also use some clear nail varnish just to seal it just in case I haven't tied it correctly.

1. Double Clinch Knot 2. Modified/Hybrid Double Clinch Knot 3. Improved Double Clinch Knot (all double clinch knots). I wonder if you could combine the 2nd and 3rd knots (Take the tag loop through twice like the improved clinch, and then around the swivel like the hybrid knot). By the way, these are great for monfilament, but the double uni knot is stronger than all of these with braided line, by a significant margin. Nice video!

That first one is a double shindo knot Gerald Swindle uses it, I absolutely love it except the tag ends do tend to snag a bit more.
