  • The new Fremont Ross High School Natatorium in Fremont, Ohio, completed in 2006, is about a sharp a 25-yard pool once will find anywhere in the USA. This short video was taken at the Sand Otter Swimming "Puppy Mania" Meet, held Jan 24-25, 2009 in Fremont. The best part about this meet was the single session format - all swimmers regardless of age swam in the same session (Saturday 1PM-6PM and Sunday 9AM-1PM), so that teams traveling from other areas could make this a "user friendly" travel meet; vs meets that are held all day long from early morning until late at night. Here's icing on the cake: it is obvious the pool staff and volunteer parents are thrilled to have visitors come to their pool, everyone has a positive attitude and they go out of their way to be fantastics hosts to all of the visiting teams. Maybe some day we will see a state championship title come back to Fremont like we saw in the 1930s and 1940s.

I think the pool is a great addition the the city, it helps the students in 3 simple ways:
1 - Swimming keeps you in good shape and health.
2 - Keeps the kids away from getting into trouble.
3 - (competitive spirit) Bring the city together.
The FMS cant be fixed, I think its a great idea to build a new building for the students and teachers.

If there was a layer allege foam then clean it. You don't need to build a bran new pool.
Hal Hawk could have put his money to better use that would benefit the whole community instead of a small section.

Two guys can swim fast. Oh, I'm so impressed. Nobody cares about those guys. Did they use this pool ? It does not matter what pool they use. A new pool does not make you a great swimmer.
My point is the money could have been used to help everyone instead of just a few swimmers.

I'm sorry but that is my opinion. You should learn to respect others' opinions. You can disagree but you should respect it. I respect yours.

It still coast someone money. If they wanted to spend there money to donate something to the city they could have donated something better than a pool. All it is is a big hole in the ground filled with watter. The taxpayers still has to pay for the maintenance.

How does it help the students ? What was wrong with the old pool ?
Yes, I am against anything that raises taxes for no good reason.

he actualy does donate to the fire dept. police station ETC. because he gives back to the comunity
and let me explain it like this
theres a thing called REVENUE that tho pool creates because HE PAYS FOR IT ALL and the money that the pool gets HE DOESNT TAKE he lets the SCHOOL/CITY take, so what that mean? long after he's gone, he'll still be donateing more than he ever could while he was alive.
see? its not that hard of a concept

Again I have to ask . How does a new pool help the future of our children ? Do you really think that our children will become Olympic swimmers or something like that ? Ha ha , not likely. Instead of spending the money on the pool or the football field the money should have been spent on fixing the FMS then we would not need the levy. This town needs to get its priorities strait.

He should give his money to people who really need it instead of spoiling his children.

If you have a job then you know that no natter how hard you work at both your jobs you will never make as much money as Hal. It takes more than hard work to get his money. It take a lot of luck. Most likely he was in the right place at the right time.
I would like to see that money go to people who do work hard. Not to some brats still in high school. I'd like to see it go to someone who earned it.

You've obviously never had a job. A person can work hard there whole life and still never active the wealth of Hal.
If he had donated his money to another sport other than swimming you would not have the same respect for him.
There is more to a community than just school. He could have given his money to the fire department, police department, or the hospital. Those places save lives. Does a pool save lives ?

Is Captain Tim Woolf of the Fremont, Ohio Police Department a Racist?
Did he abuse his power to intimidate a black single mother, a resident of Fremont Ohio?
How many times in his career has Captain Tim Woolf of the Fremont, Ohio Police Department driven to a residents house to confiscate the license plate from their car?
Is that the normal function of a Police Captain, or did he do that to intimidate and quiet someone who was questioning the actions of the Fremont, Ohio Police Department?

the old pool? the old pool was horrible, every morning for morning practice there was a layer of, alge, old, foam like matirial. and hey ignorance is bliss but
Hal Hawk (ceo of Crown Battirie) PAID SOLY FOR THIS POOL. it cost him millions, and if you listen in the biggining it says "privitly funded" so your tax dollars are safe. GET EDUCATED

the people that need it ussualy messed it up for himself. he worked hard all his life to get enough money to do what we need to do here. and if you dont like him why dont you say this to him? insteada a freshamn that respects this guy to death.
*and anytme a swimmer makes it to districts the scool gets 100$ or so if they come in top 10, states 250$, so this is getting more money eventualy then what he woulda donated*

because i've swam with him for years and i talk o him
no im not, deffinitly not lol
revenue is gunna be more than what he could donate, would you rather have 1,000,000$ today or 1,000$ a month (approx profit) a month after the pools payed off?
and yess i have had a job. dennys, and BK. thank you

may i ask a question, if you had millions of dollers, 2 children that swim, and look at the swim facility and it looks like shit, then wouldent you change the facility?
and Hal Donates by the MILLIONS yearly. sodont go critisizing something you know NOTHING about.
