I had a friend who sat on the boarder in a Sheridan. He once told me that the reason they were there was to preoccupy some of the artillery with dropping rounds on them. Possibly giving warning to others who could hear them dying.
I really love playing as the 11th in this because this is exactly the nature of the fulda gap in real life. NATO would take delaying action and defense in depth. Just attrite the enemy as much as possible. Dont even have to focus on winning. You did pretty good and im excited to see how many troops the squadron will have left once they join the reservists at alsfeld. Attrition. Fall back. Attrition. Fall back. I think I said that about 30 times in the hours it took me to make it back to west German lines during my playthrough lol
FYI, smoke launches on vehicles costs 200 supply points at the moment (very expensive), so you would be well advised to use them more sparingly with your Abrams since they can somewhat facetank ATGMs If you want to stop your tanks from auto-popping smoke, you should change their rules of engagement from "defensive" to neutral or agressive
Excited to watch this campaign run. Your narration and the tension of the battles is absolutely nerve wracking (but good!). Very impressed by your micro while keeping an eye on the broader battle.
@@Stealth17Gaming oh btw from what i've seen retreating is a lot more dangerous than fighting to the death in this side, because you may just get overwhelmed by the enemy who is still advancing, and you lose cover
The units you have on the strategic map are batallions. In the tactical battle these are subdivided in companies with their platoons. The 3/11 ACR, being cavalry is a squadron, subdivided into troops
Holy cow, what an episode, Absolutely amazing and what a defense you've put on. Heck I am waiting for MORE :O No disrepect to your previous campaign but this one feels so much more of a fight and more tension than the soviet campaign, The enemy feel so much more aggressive which I love
This game is reminiscent of World In Conflict, which is also an alt-history of the USSR invading NATO and the United States in 1989. WIC played more as an RTS less than a grand strategy, but the mission would have the player switch factions as the plot demands. It makes me wonder if Warno will have a story campaign as well (as opposed to only a grand campaign).
I really love the effort you've put into your introductions lately, please keep going. I love coming back to bits like this so I can enjoy the personal stories. Reminds me of World at Conflict.
I think from our perspective. It's not actually blurry but gives a good impression of it. Why? Obviously we see the action from a high up view at distance. For the people watching say from a mobile, it's a bunch of red with indistinguishable writing with nato symbols hard to make, with other overlays like zone markings. Which is about as good as it gets. But when you pause or go slow and at those moments go on close, it helps build the scene and tension.
Was ready to be immersed in Red Storm Rising goodness, immediately hit with a Lance Corporal in the Army and kills all immersion. Cmon man! You can do better than this!
Okay, stupid question. I've played this AG campaign just few weeks ago. But in my case battles for 11th ACR took place on river map. I've even decided to start campaign again, just to check it, but still, I got first battle on river map. Now Im just wondering... do I play the same game ;-P

General Abrams.
You are a bold one.
Is this supposed to be a star wars reference?

11th ARC is an army unit, and Lance Corporal is a marine rank
My bad
I was with the 11th ACR. 1/11 blackjack 1st platoon, out of Fort Irwin California. Good to see my unit getting some love

What a nice defense!!! I didn't think that you can hold your ground for this long. I'm excited to know what would be outcome of this battle!!.

Really really cool intro! :)
Thanks for the great content Stealth! :)
Thanks!
Thanks for this series. I know you dont get enough views compare to another series however i really love them.
Thank you :)
Hey Stealth, just found your NATO playlist, thank you so much :) you brought tears of joy to my eyes! all the memories of the good old wargame days!
So this is just me being pedantic and nit picky, but why in heck is that platoon parked facing eachother, and not facing out?
Because I did it like that for the cinematic, as if they were camped before some action.
@Stealth17Gaming ahhh, didn't realize it was a clip you put together. I figured the video was part of a cutscene or something like that.
@@dantreadwell7421 No, my doing
@@Stealth17Gaming awesome editing, as always!

This was a fun watch. I think so far being swarmed like this is a more entertaining watch than the Soviet campaign. a lot more intense.
Nitpick: the US Army doesn't have Lance Corporals. That's a Marine rank. Army equivalent would be PFC.
I am looking forward for the next episode!

You do actually have a command tank in the last group.
1st impressions of this video- considering the resolution im watching at (1440p)the image quality is...blurry...
Curious. I didn't do anything different from regular recording.

Well we can all tell they are following Soviet attack doctrines to perfection as demonstrated in Ukraine .. with the same results. Amazing
🤓🤓🤓
Haha found it. Not sure why this first episode didn't pop up in my feed
Thanks for doing NATO campaign!
Extra rations is good as long as it doesn't get delivered in a body bag! :-)
3:01 "reach Alsfeld before the NVA"? Seriously? Are we fighting the Vietnamese again? :-)))
Block zone is great but If you want a detailed while Cobi is better only thing is they don’t ship everywhere block zone does

Yeah you do play the same game. They changed the first map that you play on to make it a bit easier.
@@Stealth17Gaming Okay, good to know ;-P. Funny, but I think I liked the former map better ;-P
I think that the T-55AM2B got ATGM but the T-55AM2 doesn't have ATGM.
Wait is this literally RSR in Warno?
Not the book, but it does come down to it. You follow a unit as a massive PACT attack happens all over Western Germany.
How do you get the the campaign on this game? I just have like 6 missions
It's the Army General campaign. It's part of the base game.
Is this based on the book? Seems like it.
I think the book is based on a war plan. This is too
Lmao they can't call it Lego cuz that's trademarked is like saying you can't call all cars a Porche because that's trademarked!
