Ive never held a double bass but I play this on my Fender bass. Its great to hear a legit player make it sing.
Incredible, great sound!
Ive been practicing this same piece and i just want to say your amazing! This is a motivation to me! Keep on playing and if i was a judge for this you would be in no questions haha!
Great job :D
Thank you great work
Beautiful intonation and sound, I love it!!!
Thank you!
I.love your dynamics. Congratulations! Time to practice (for me!)
Intonation could be better.
Thanks Maestro
Beautiful tone and performance
Both okay... personally I play german for the lower part if the instrument
amazing
Wow, at 1:26, while bowing the low E, Dr. Morton plays vibrato on the note up an octave on the A string. Is that something common? I don't think I've ever seen it before...and I certainly was never taught that.
My first bass teacher, Griff Miller, showed me that trick. Truth is, you can vibrate on an open string by vibrating literally ANYWHERE on the bass! Try it!
@@DrMarkMorton I will try it! Thanks for the reply.
thank you really appreciated it. this is etude for my 11th grade all state audition. Its not hard really but it just helps to hear it thanks again.
wow i have to play this for an all city audition in 8th grade xD
Who are you

Hello Mark, compass 18 first note D before the B is not one tempo? you played like the compass 20. Just a doubt :) maybe we have different version
Dr.Mark,
see you playing make me imagine that vibrato is to ease for you. What your advice for me to improve my vibrato? Thanks for attention.
ÂNGELO Santiago I would start off making slow motions doing vibrato on one note.
Would you recommend playing with a German or French bow. I currently do French.
i do german bow
because i live in germany
lol
i don't mean to bother you but i am having a crisis. in august i am trying out for the Greater New Haven youth orchestra and i have a problem i can't decide between number nine and this one can you please give me some help i just want to get in. Thank you for your time.

Hi, do you have a fingering written out for this?
1:42: measure 25
How much did that bass cost if you don’t mind me asking?
A lot...
Gr888
What’s up with the fingerboard?
It's longer on the G-string side to allow for higher notes.
I played it! here it sounds much better... shame on me.. :DD love it :))
Me too😔✊🏻
I feel like u should use a 3 quarter bass
This is a 3/4 size bass with a longish string length: 42.5 inches.
i wrote lyrics, to best performance I've yet seen ! thnx Doc!
""Snap ! woke this morn and i saw your Pa,
