Who’s here in 2024 trying to diy finger waves?
Me lhh
Me 😔
I'm a hairdresser relearning after 12 years I got booked finger waves for tomorrow 😂 haven't done them since hair school!
Meee on myself cause a sister on a budget🤞🏽🤣
I'm going to create a fingerwaving course.
This video helped me pass my state board!!! You made it so easy and took finger waves step by step and broke it down. Thank you so much!!!!
Him: makes finger waves flawlessly and effortlessly me: crying in the corner because this shits so hard
It definitely takes practice 😊🙏🏽 try to stick with it, you’ll get it!
Comment of the UA-cam year
I just made a comment similar to this. I was in the bathroom crying at school yesterday because I could get it figured out.
Hang in there! This was the first thing we learned in beauty school and so frustrating! Honestly thought I wouldn't make it but then everything after that was a piece of cake! Glad I didn't give up (32 years ago and still going).
Yours is the best finger wave tutorial ever! Authentic, simple and easy! This was exactly how my great grandmother did her finger waves - with only the fingers and a comb on wet hair! I don't like the other tutorials where they complicate the process so much with so many unnecessary tools like heated curlers and rollers.
I have said it before and I will say it again, your videos teach me way more than I learn at my cosmetology school! This is a much easier way to do finger waves than how they teach us in class!!!
+ChrysLeighanneA awesome! I'm so happy to be able to help! I understand what you mean, I used to hate doing fingerwaves! I wish I had learned it the way I teach it now, but I'm thankful that I was able to learn it well enough to teach my students how to do it with ease. Thank you so much for watching! Good luck with cosmetology!! 😃👍🏽
@Ginger Berry when your teachers were morons who taught you nothing, you learn elsewhere so you can get shit done. I ended up LEAVING cosmetology school because when I was in my last 300 hours I still had not learned men’s hair cutting as they refused to teach it because students didn’t have models when we weren’t given notice to need them, and they wouldn’t use the mannequins. I learned ALL my hair styling and updo techniques online. What I learned in school? How to sanitize a table, and how to mix color. Not even how to properly use the hair sheers. So stfu and maybe ask why someone WHY they find it easier to learn things online rather than from their teachers who show them once and expect them to master it and then say they’re shit and will never make it in the industry because they don’t have a fucking photographic memory.
this is a way better lesson than I got in cosmetology school. great tutorial!
+Justine D thank you dear! I'm so glad to be able to help!
Agreed. I’m in cosmo school and I couldn’t get it from the demo in class and a proficient classmate helping too :o
Girrrrl im struggling here too lmao
Justine D same here
im in the same place right now haha!!
Hello, for some reason, Im watching this on my sons account. But I am actually his mom and I am currently in cosmotology school goning through hairdesign and doing finger waves and I am not getting it at all. This video is so helpful to me. Thank you so much for making it. My instructor have about 30 students and it is impossible to get enough attention to help me. This helps because I can watch it over and over. Going to practice tonight and not going to sleep until I have mastered it.
I normally do more 1940's/50's hairstyles with foam rollers on my myself but since I started watching Downton Abbey, I've been dying to learn how to do finger waves. I seriously think this is a super helpful video, and can't wait to try it on myself!
You made this look so easy! I cried during my practical exam because my waves were just so damn ugly! Lol! Waves and roller sets... to this day I hate them!
I teach it this way, and it definitely simplifies it! Lol most people really struggle with finger waving
thank you for this! finger waving is coming up in my core class and my teacher told us that people cry from how frustrating this can be. thought i would try to figure some of it out before class:) super helpful!!
My pleasure! Yes, finger waves frustrate a lot of people, it’s my hope that this video helps simplify it for many! 😊🙏🏽
@Ginger Berry UA-cam is free, if you find that many issues with my video, you are always more than welcome to make your own. Thanks for helping my channel grow with your engagement and negativity! ❤️
As someone who is going to be getting a Ginger Rogers-esque hair cut soon, this will help! My friend recommended I search for finger waves/curls on UA-cam and yours was the first on my list and a very thorough explanation! Hopefully I can master these! 😊
In my beauty school, we started at the front. I'm sitting in my car crying and smoking watching this video tryna understand this 😭😬
I woke up at 2:30 am one morning and had the desire to learn how to style a wig using the fingerwave method. I knew this was the video from the start. This was a fabulous tutorial. I watched your video half way through and got it right away. Thank you for your breakdown of the process.
I've never wanted to learn hair styling more in my life. You are amazing!! I'd love to keep learning with you 😊 Thanks for the great videos!
+Marta LondParis wow that is a HUGE compliment! Thank you! I appreciate you watching and I'm glad you are enjoying the videos! 😉
GlamFam I Forgot You Were Getting Your Hair Finger Waved. That Was The First Video Of Yours I Saw. You Were Right On Time Just Like You Said Doing This Video. ☺ I Tried To Do Some Of These On My Mom In The Salon I Worked At 'EPIC FAIL'
I Got So Mad . It Looked Horrible. Everybody Was Watching Me In The Salon And I Never Wanted To Do Waves Again.
+GodRich I feel you! Finger waves are notorious for giving people grief! I hope this video proves more helpful and gives you that extra boost of confidence to try again! Thanks for watching our videos! ❤👍🏽
GlamFam Would You Use Watered Down Gel On A Real Client As Well.
+GodRich it depends on the hair texture and the stylists preference. If I am working on relaxed hair I often use a combination of foaming wrap and setting lotion. If the client wants it more firm, then I set it with spritz after I'm finished.
If I'm working on naturally straight hair, the diluted gel typically works well. It doesn't tend to dry crunchy so I can brush it out after it dries for soft waves as well.
If they want it firm, then I don't brush it out, and I either use non-diluted gel, or follow it up with spritz.
I hope that helps answer your question! Thanks for watching😊
I’m in cosmetology school and I could NOT get this lmao and saw your video and this is so much easier to me now thank you so much 😭💕
my new favorite channel. I am a visual person and you make it so easy. thank you
+GHchic aww thank you! I appreciate that! I use these as a teaching tool for my students and it usually benefits my visual learners the most.

This is the best explanation of finger wave ever ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️
We attempted this in cosmetology class today. 🥴 I could not get the idea. Even though I am a leftie I think I can do it! You made this technique look much easier than in class. Now I just need to practice. Thank you!
Im a leftie too!! And I just graduated cosmo school Aug. 2nd and took my written exam and passed. Now, I have to take the practical in January because every spot was full
Omg I love this video!! You explain better than my teacher. I didn't understand with her but with you I know now I will pass my state board license. Thank you so much! 💓
Very helpful! You make it look so effortless and I’ve been struggling with it so much!
nice tutorial. As a seasoned stylist that mainly cut and colors I really appreciate a refresher course in finger waves.
+Daniel Hartle thank you so much! I really appreciate that! A lot of times I see people really over complicating them, so I'm hoping this video just helps people simplify. 😊
This is so detailed. You did an amazing job I’m going to try your method bc girl I am struggling at perfecting this style 😩. Thank you for sharing
I love your finger. This is the best one I am seeing so far.
thank you for this I am a beginner student and we started waving yesterday and I almost cried because it was so hard it seemed to get but I will try this along with my teacher's technique to see and i can do it.
+Denarro Talton you are welcome! Best of luck, and remember, it gets easier!
I needed a refresher course. Great job.

Finger waves will never go out of style they are the base of many styles.
This made the most sense and was the least boring tutorial I've seen. Thx
I love how simple you made this look! I couldn't get those together for the life of me last week in class
+Bella Stone trust me, I totally understand the struggle and I relate! We have all been there! When I figured out how to simplify these a bit, it was literally life changing for me! This is the same way I taught my students and it helped out immensely with them picking it up.
Thank you so much for this tutorial!!! 😊😊I'm in hair school in Kentucky and fingerwaves have been so challenging for me. 😒😤😡The way my teacher explains it I thought I would never get it. 😳😞But this had made me slightly more confident 😊💪🏽I'm gonna give it another try. Thank you so much !! And congratulations on gaining a new subscriber!! 💋💋💋

Hello GlamFam Hair & Beauty,
From one instructor to another, this video was well done and was slow enough for beginners to follow. I will be using your video for my next lesson on finger waves.
Sharrina
Thank you!!! I just started Cosmetology School and I am so intimidated by finger waves...you make it look so easy!!
My pleasure! Thanks so much for watching! I totally understand, I used to teach Cosmetology, and fingerwaves are overwhelming for everyone at first 😊👍🏽
Love your voice. Speech is extremely clear. Every syllable is pronounced to the Tea😂
Watching you work is so therapeutic
Thank you dear 😊
So detailed, i love it!!
Thank you dear!
Excellent tutorial thank you very much
Love these!
Highly appreciate the dubstep playing in the background 🥹
Would you do this same method on African/Kinky textures or would you change what products you used to help with the hold?
+Kanika Haggins if it's relaxed I would use the same method, and use a mixture of setting lotion and foaming wrap.
For natural hair I would recommend doing dry waves. It gives a slightly fuller look but the same general effect.
Thanks for watching!
