I have a 92 also. Mine is factory white gray but is now white white. I bought it in 2019 and it has been sitting for almost 2 years. I plan to resurrect it before summer time. You're 100% right they're temperamental especially when modified of which mine is. I'm gonna ditch the stock ecu and do a full holley system update. I think part of the issue where unlike the grandnational being a sequential fuel system this is batch fire because GM used the same ecu from the pontiac sunbird gt which was a 4 cylinder turbo engine and using batch fire injection the cylinder count didn't matter since they all just fire at the same time. I think the problem is when the ecu chip is upgraded it causes this system to go haywire. Crazy part is that 4.3 liter engine is one of the best v6s ever created. The electronics around it are not that good.
You are absolutely correct on the EFI. When you upgrade the EFI, crank up the boost and you'll have a rocket 🚀 on wheels, son. Great ride to keep in thebfamily for generations 👍 👌!!!! I want to find a Syclone. Myself.
You are right about them being temperamental. I've always wanted one but with these things the way they are and owners consistently working on them to get the top performance, I've stayed away. I want something that I can enjoy driving without having to consistently work on it.
@@ericbrenner690 I will keep you posted on mine but I'm pretty sure my issues are with that ignition system. It happens on all GM vehicles with the same set up. The duel sync distributor is supposed to be on the level of points from older cars but better because it gives off a flawless signal. The issue most people are having 9 times out of 10 is that damn ignition system. When it works it works great but the problem is you never know when it's gonna fail and leave you stranded. Oh and this conversion is costing me 15k.
I had all 3 turbo cars 86 Buick grand national 89 turbo Trans am and than 92 gmc typhoon my favorite was the gmc typhoon it stuck to the road on exit ramps on the interstate like glue at 80 mph excellent handling.I kept blowing the transmission up and the front drive shaft up .I bought mine brand new in 92 .sold it after about 2 years .It had alot of problems with the ecu.
Fact: Green/Gray was pretty rare in 1992. Only 82 trucks were painted this color so what you have there is 1 of 82! (210 Green/gray in 1993). I had a beautiful 93 Green/Gray that even won Best of Show at a SyTy show. I now have a 92 White/gray that was featured in Doug DeMuro's video. Great trucks!

I'm totally jealous. I LOVE the Grand National.
